One suggestion is that the Aappam could be served on a parchment paper on top of the ceramic plate to avoid the Aappam sticking to the plate. I was staying at an Airbnb here in Mountain House, and I love Indian food. So I decided to check this place out. I'm glad I did. The space was clean and bright, and everyone was friendly. The food is south Indian, which can be spicy. I don't have a problem with spicy up to a limit. They have a good sized menu. I started with the egg podimas, which is a scrambled egg dish. It was very good. Everything, I asked for medium spice, and that's what I got. It wasn't the kind of spice that slapped me across the face, it was a gentle spice, just enough that it made my forehead sweat a tiny bit. Just the right amount for me. The eggs were tender, and the dish was delicious. The portions were very generous. For my main course, I had the chicken biryani. Again, exactly the same type of gentle spice. The chicken was tender and flavorful, and the rice was absolutely tender and delicious. The dish was a home run. My dishes came with three different sauces, I primarily stayed with the yogurt sauce. A nice cooling sauce that balanced the spice of the dish beautifully. For dessert, I had the gulab jamun, which I love. They were not overfried,, they were nice and tender, and the sauce was sweet, but not overly so. Absolutely delicious. The Meal ended with a nice. Chai tea, which was a perfect palate cleanser. I catered from Aaaddakai for a party at my house. He arrived and set up the stations 2 hours late. I myself had to help him set up while my 60+ guests were enjoying the Diwali celebration. He also came with only 1 person when I had specifically asked for 2 people to man Chaat and Dosa stations separately. Some of my guests started serving the Chaat lines, embarrassing. The food was great, however we had said no Sesame as we have people with allergies, or mark it clearly. He brought podi for dosa with sesame in it and was unmarked, one of our guests had an allergic reaction and left immediately. Others who were allergic fortunately ate other food because he was so late. After some phone complaints to send another server, the business owner came. I thought he would help with the service. He got a plate and started eating, possibly served by one of my guests. The owner walked around and counted my guests. We had a separate catering as well for the kids. He upcharged me on headcount after counting the kids and seeing there were more than the quoted number of people. I assume he counted himself as well in that count. While the food is great, I wish I could recommend the service. The business owner is just not motivated to be successful or treat customers well. He asked to be paid even more than originally quoted. I paid him because it was Diwali and wish him the best, but I'm not going back or recommending this business. read more

This is the only sit down Indian restaurant in Mountain House/Lathrop/Manteca -- for that I have to give it atleast 4 stars! The restaurant was clean and service was quick! Regarding the food, most of the dishes lacked salt and spice. Additionally, they had plenty of curries however they had no naans, however the owner said this was temporary given the establishment is new and they didn't have a tandoor oven. Soft opening - we ordered a few dishes to get a feel - baby corn Manchurian (3/5) , shrimp curry ( 3.5/5) , goat curry (3,5/5) and Appam's (4/5) . Absolute disaster of an experience. After breakfast, the guy at the counter asked me to clean the table of trash. After I pointed out that there were other tables where nobody had removed the trash, and nowhere was it written that customers had to clean the table, and anyway, the trash bin wasn't even visible but secreted away in a corner near the restrooms, he became abusive and told me that he didn't want North Indian customers at the restaurant, specifically because my wife DID NOT KNOW HER POSITION AND TALKED BACK. It's really nice to have an Indian restaurant here in Mountain House. My family and I have been here a few times now to get some appetizers and they have been really good! The few times we've ordered, a few of the dishes have been pretty spicy but overall great flavor. We will continue coming here. I'm looking forward to ordering other items on their menu. read more

I have been a big fan of this place from south bay and east bay. This is a new location for the Mountain house community. Ambiance is really good as the place is opened recently. Staff is very friendly, they took order immediately. Coming to the food I ordered the appetizers that I usually order, nethili fry, chicken 65, gobi 65 all of them are good but for some reason this restaurant adds less salt in all the appetizers. Appam and chicken chettinad curry combination is a must try. The curry is spicy and little sweet, appam is very soft and sweet as expected. I recommend to try their appam and curries. read more

Visited this place for lunch with friends and tried wide variety of food including appetizers and main course. Food was made to order, fresh, and flavorful. The quantity was right for the prices the staff was prompt, courteous, and professional in their service. The menu is the same to other branches. The seeraga sambha biriyani both mutton and nattu kozhi biriyani was great. The ambience was good and the place is clean. Would love to see an improvement there. Unlimited dosa Thursdays most often gets frustrating with slow speed and low quality dosa batter. I live in Mountain House, frequently visit this place. Main reason to visit is, I liked friendly staff, I always walkout with great experience from here. One example is: we recently visited for breakfast menu on Saturday morning but my daughter wanted chicken unfortunately it wasn't available on menu. The staff heard this and able to get chicken soup which was ready that time as complimentary. This shows their flexibility and attitude towards customer. Always food is always tasty - my favorite food items here is gobi 65, friend rice, chicken lollipop, chicken friend rice, idiyapam with fish curry. Definitely recommend this place for good South Indian style food. read more

Whole point of phone orders mean when you get there you pay and pick up. I called in and had to still wait just appetizers order for over 30 min. Not good. And service was bad they are not even sorry about it. They just handed me my order. Yet the order was incomplete. No chutney of any kind with 2 orders of my pakoras. What we supposed to eat this with and what you can tell guests. Even now guests won't come to your restaurant. Word of mouth is always best but when you can't even get orders correctly it's just doesn't make sense. You only get 1 star. read more

We came on 8/10 for Thursday lunch and we were satisfied. We ordered Paratha Curry Chicken, Dosa Masala, Paneer Appam, lolipop chicken and rose milk. The food is definitely 4 stars and up especially the dosa and appam. I didn't try rose milk but she likes it. Lolipop chicken was a bit under-seasoned, sprinkle some Himalayan pink salt would help. This was our first visit after moving to mountain house and we never want to go here again. The food is okay with taste but all the chicken dishes come with bones. Also I ordered goad curry and it had nothing but bones. May be the one star I would give is for the taste but the customer service is terrible. I had this place for the first time over the weekend, and I was not impressed. To start off on Saturdays and Sundays, what is the whole point of having a 30 minute break after opening up after three hours? Personally it doesn't make sense to me.... I had ordered online and they should have been done by the time I got there, but they told me extra time was needed for my order to be ready (which took about 20 minutes). I also do DoorDash and that seems to be like the issue with this place as well. They are never ready on time. But to get to the actual review on the food overall, I just wasn't impressed. I ordered the raita and it was just extremely overdone with onion. The Samosa was not bad it was good. It just had too much onion. I also had the butter chicken, which was really good, just sad that they don't serve naan at all but it would've been perfectly paired with naan if they had it. I've had indigestion for a few days after eating this food not sure what it is but this is never happened after eating Indian food so be wary when eating here I do not think I will be coming back. There are other places in Tracy that are worth the money, time and quality. read more

Placed an order for pickup. Arrived at the time the order was supposed to be ready. When I got to the restaurant the employee said it would be ten more minutes for my order to be ready. I ended up waiting for 30 minutes. I ordered butter chicken and only got literally four small chunks of chicken for $15.00. Most disturbingly, I ordered tandoori chicken and it was RAW! My pregnant wife took a bite of the raw chicken, and that's how we found out that it was not cooked on the inside. Went back to the restaurant to get a full refund and they only wanted to give me back money for the RAW chicken. The guy said he was too busy to refund my money, so I will have to wait for a call for a refund, so hopefully that happens. Terrible food and service. I will definitely never come back. I want to try other things so far butter chicken, mutton biryani witch is more like Palau that taste very home made. I have also had the roast mutton witch I found very good and my friend who is Japanese loved the fried rice and butter chicken . Garlic naan is good as well. Will be definitely going back.
