The owner reached out to make amends, but I ignored them and came back on my own after a very long break. History aside these are the facts from my experience today. Butter Chicken - Very well made, there was alot more chicken than normal in the container, flavor was as expected, texture was creamy with my preferred spice level Veggie Samosa - Very well made,as expected, well seasoned, well textured. Fried properly. Missing the mint sauce but thats forgiven. Tamarind is my favorite anyway. Garlic/Green Onion Naan - Honestly my first time trying it, happy to try it for less than the price of what it is on the menu. Very good, was still hot and fresh when I received it. Very good flavor that complimented the rest of the meal very well, thankfully. What great friendly and kind service The restaurant is nice and spacious, and here's a very kind and friendly server who is attentive to us and kind, even though our whole family was sick. The fish Pakora was amazing. Seven out of five, the fish itself was very moist, and the outside was crispy without being too thick or overbearing. Not too spicy, very mild. I enjoyed the goat Kadai and the coconut chicken tikka masala, coconut chicken, tikka masala is a little bit on the sweet side. 4/5 The special naan is a pink, mildly sweet naan. Although I didn't eat any, my friendly told me that the plain naan is very soft fluffy. The chai was fine, although I did miss the aroma of spices. Biryani was moist and mildly spiced as requested. I ordered the mixed platter and to my surprise all the pakora was burnt and tasted not edible. Which really sucked because I was excited to try it but I wasn't too worried because I had my butter chicken which is always good here... but literally I ate three bites and I felt something get caught in my throat. I go to pull it out and it was a piece of hair! It was short and straight so I automatically knew it wasn't mine since I have long curly hair I immediately started gagging because I have a weak stomach but I almost swallowed it which the thought alone still makes me want to throw up. Anyways I really loved this place, I ordered from here all the time but unfortunately after this I don't think I can manage to eat here again. based on Nextdoor recommendations I had take out twice. Food was okay but not outstanding. I ordered a cucumber salad as a side. It was actually bad. Way more onions than cukes and it had way too many chunks of a hot jalapeno chopped up in it. Mexican not Indian. I ended up throwing it out (which I don't usually do). Anyway, it prompted me to look up Indian cucumber salad recipes. I'll try one with peanuts, roasted coconut, lime and chilies. My family were in Tracy looking at homes and came across Sandra Indian Cuisine. It literally is the best Indian Restaurant we have eaten in and we have gone to dozens and dozens, from Fresno to Natomas. Unfortunately I've had two bad experiences here. We usually order via door dash or To-Go. First bad experience: I ordered Shrimp Masala and it had pieces of chicken in it. This is unacceptable for vegetarian or pescitarian people, because meat contamination is in question. Also, found a piece of plastic in the Pakora. Very upsetting. I called at 1:15 to ask what their hours were and was told they were open until 2:30. I arrived at 1:35-1:40 and asked for a table for four. The man working looked at my family and I and immediately said "no" and turned around. When we asked why, he said it was too close to closing even thought there were 50+ minutes remaining. We walked out slightly confused why they didn't say anything when I called 20 minutes earlier, but as we got back to our car we saw an Indian family of five walk in and get seated. I went back inside and asked why they seated the larger group that came in after us and was told that "they called their order in 30 minutes ago" yet the server was handing them menus and they had clearly not ordered yet. Do not eat at this restaurant. The only rational explanation is that they discriminated against us because of our race/appearance. read more
