We so appreciate AARD! This company provides the customer service, care, and attentiveness that most businesses have abandoned. We made the mistake of trying a high-end corporate company. They did a lousy job on service, quality, value, and customer care. AARD puts them to shame. We paid the early cancellation penalty to get rid of them, then called AARD. They've been so wonderful, the early cancellation penalty felt less painful. Other companies 'guarantee' their service, too often do a poor job, then make it a hassle to enact their 'guarantee.' AARD guarantees their service, but does such a great job, in the years we've had them, we've only had to call them back once, and the issue wasn't even their fault. There was an influx of pests that affected our entire neighborhood. Regardless, AARD made our home and situation comfortable, weathered the unseasonably high volume of pests with us until normalcy resumed. They're darned amazing! AARD belongs in the class of Les Schwab and the service stations of yesteryear with friendly, uniformed attendants who were on-point with whatever you need before you know you need it! The care our technician, Cheyne, provides is unmatched! Even when others have stepped when he's not available, the service is top-drawer every time. Customer service is terrible because when I call or ask for someone to come out I don't get it time and or they miss the date they were said they're going to be here. One guy they sent out ended up seeing a bunch of sexist jokes about women while my wife was alone at the house. And it seems that they sprayed around where our cat sleeps in the house and one of our giant stuffed animals with pesticides. I don't understand how they can be so careless or unprofessional. I have seen a reduction in our spiders throughout the year but I can't say that I'm willing to support a business that treats women as a second class. read more

We found a few carpet beetles and had them come out for an estimate to treat them. The technician took a look to confirm the pest and did some spot checking before advising me how I could get rid of them myself without having to have them treat the house - I cannot express how much we appreciated them not pushing for a service when there was an alternative. Found an old notes in my records this morning - so AARD must have changed since my experience which took place on October 22, 23, and 24, 1986. It was a $65. check whch involved the bank and Bill, Owner of AARD - Bill had my $65 check according to my bank, was trying to cash it again - the same $65 check my bank wouldn't accept from his the second time. It was a very confusing experience that was finally resolved. I never did find how-what-why the Bill's confusing trial to get the funds twice had happened. read more

I initially called AARD to help with a little mouse visitor that was unwanted in our pantry as well as some sugar ants. We got great suggestions at the first appointment regarding the sugar ants and a couple of plantings near our house. We elected to have the quarterly service and couldn't be happier. No visitors in our pantry or sugar ants. For reference, we have a green belt area behind our house so we always get a bunch of critters in our backyard. The service tech that has been doing our quarterly service is always so friendly and checks in with us to see if we have had any issues indoors since the last visit and we have not. read more

I recently moved to Seattle from the east coast and AARD was recommended to me by my realtor. I called the office and got a return call and visit from Stephanie the same day. Stephanie is awesome and very responsive. She treated our home for spiders and then made a second trip out when I noticed ants. I would expect pest control people to be able to actually check your house and get into those nasty little spaces that you wouldn't want to enter. So what good is it when they send over some geriatric who can barely walk, much less go crawling around under your house? Take a look at their web site and you'll see an entire staff of senior citizens ready and waiting to hobble around your property to check for pests. The technician wasn't able to go into our crawl space and didn't even go under the deck overhang to check for rodents getting into our house. Not only did he do a lousy inspection job, he was either blind or didn't know rodent droppings from colored pebbles. He dropped a few poison bait traps around our property, called it good and left us an invoice. And for that we're expected to pay $300. I don't think so. I had another company do a thorough job and filed a complaint about Aard with the BBB just so they don't send my bill out for collection. read more

i had AARD come to spray a wasp nest which costs almost $200 so I expect they would inspect for others while there. I had also requested a general service to spray for bugs and spiders. The guy who came didn't do that and left me another persons bill and it caused a big mix up. I called again to reschedule the service and no one returned my call. A few weeks later we discovered other wasp nests and I questioned whether the confused technician had missed those. The woman on the phone said she would have her manager call me but two weeks later I still haven't heard. What a waste of time and money. Or I guess they saved me money since I won't be getting the general service or the other wasp nests done. read more

I like AARD pest control. I have rental homes and have used them numerous times. Great office staff. Great field work. I call them and tell them i need service at this address....give them the tenants contact info....and it is handled. They call and schedule with my tenants. my tenants have never complained while they were there. price seems fair. Getting rid of ants can be a prolonged effort. you cant just go find them, kill them and its done. usually you cant find the nest. I have tried many times on my own. You usually have to treat the whole area, creating a barrier, and keep up the treatment until they are gone. AARD will give me a one time treatment or a continued service depending on the need. I am warning others about my experience. Late last year, when I was the buyer of a home in King County, part of our purchase contract required the previous owner to have the crawl space inspected and certified that there was no current rodent activity + appropriate exclusion thereof. This company had allegedly been servicing this contract for "many years." In addition, they claimed after their inspection there was "no inside activity for many years." This company was dishonest to the seller and the buyer and here is why: 1. You could smell the rat feces and urine prior to even opening the door to the crawl space located in the pantry. Obvious indicator of a live problem. 2. Plentiful and fresh rat feces visible immediately when opening the hatch and peering down. 3. Within the first 24 hours after we took possession of this property (and set our own traps) we caught 4 rats with only 3 traps. Do the math. There was so much activity we had a two for one special. We caught 4 more over the next week prior to the professionals. 4. The rat activity had been going on for many years and was not managed or under control in any way. Due to this, we had to spend over $5,000 cleaning out the crawl space alone + having "real rodent exclusion" performed. We deserved the truth and an honest accurate condition report. They have horrible customer service. I asked help for a fleas infestation. At first they gave me several Sticky cardboards to lay on my floor to catch flies with. I brought them back several days Later So they could identify what kind of fleas I have. They did not have the technology to identify them. That should have been my first concern. Then they sold me a can of Precor 2000. Told me to spray the perimeter of my place. And to vacuum extensively many times. I followed the instructions on the cam to the T. Their product did not work. They will not stand by their product They didn't offer to refund my money. I did ask them to come over and do an extermination. They said they won't do it. I don't know why They were so difficult to me. I do not recommend anyone to use this business they seem to not know what they're doing. They lie about their products and they do not stand by it. read more

They have also come on special occasions to check and treat pests such as wasps, ants in the wood chips in our community park and drain flies in our house. Our neighbor's have consulted with them as well. They do a fantastic job, are competitively priced, notify us ahead of time and always come on the day they say they will. Have been having an issue with ants at our house, Rob came out within 48 hours to take a look and treated the entire perimeter of the house and gave us supplies to be able to take care of any remaining ants still inside. Also was able to shed some light onto the issue and found out our neighbors are also dealing with the same so we should treat again in the next 3 months to keep them at bay. Fired! After using AARD's quarterly service plan for at least 10 years, we had a critter take up residence somewhere in under our house. I informed the service tech when he came out for his quarterly service, even put signs as to where we could hear the critter. Supposedly bait was set in our crawl space. 3 months later and after another quarterly service visit and another call to the office the critter is still living in our space. The person we spoke to told us it was our own fault because OUR NEIGHBORS have an apple tree with apples on the ground, our neighbors, not us, not in our yard that we can control. I called the AARD office yet again to see what they could do. I was told it would cost us $125-$195 to send someone out. So I called a competitor. They came out found where the critter was living, (which was NOT in our crawl space. It had chewed a hole under our french door. The competitor evicted the critter, helped us to determine the best way to prevent a return and we will be happy customers of AARD'S competition from now on. read more

We were buying a home and needed a pest inspection before we took the deal to closing. The 1st inspection was not done buy a licensed pest inspector so we hired Aard. They found that there was evidence of anobiid beetles not noted on 1st inspection and were able to treat the problem, educate us regarding various concerns we had, and set us up with a program that will keep the house pest free with cost we are able to afford. All within a short period of time they got the paperwork completed and sent to the necessary parties. I am confident that this company will always provide a valuable service for us and our new home. This company is worthless. They tried to trap a squirrel by *literally* throwing some nuts on my roof. Predictably, a bunch of birds came and snagged the nuts within minutes. After complaining to AARD, they came by again to set up a trap that ended up trapping a blue jay. Luckily our neighbors were home and took the trap down to free the bird. Now, directly against our permission, they left their ladder set up on our house because they "didn't feel like hauling it back and forth." We have been long time customers of this company. It was determined during a recent home inspection as part of a pending house sale, that we had significant damage in our crawl space due to rodents. We had a problem with rodents in this area in the past which was addressed and I assumed that our pest guy, Bill had been routinely doing maintenance follow up on the area. Unfortunately, this was not the case and the area required significant work in the amount of $4,000. I called Bill and he indicated that the damage was not fresh which was not what the insulation company said nor what pictures taken during inspection indicated. I also called and spoke to a supervisor who indicated he would speak to Bill and get back to me and he never called me back despite 2 additional phone calls to the company. Bill called me back several days later and told me they were not responsible for this damage even though I have been paying him for 9+ years for services. In addition, prior to me knowing the extent of the damage, I asked Bill to start services on my new home. I called him after he left the home to see if he had been in the attic or crawl spaces and he replied no, as he did not know where they were. He had my contact information and did not call to ask me nor did he ask my contractor who was present on that date. They have been absolutely unwilling to take any responsibility for this issue or to even apologize for this mistake. As a result, I will no longer be using this company and will also be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I would not recommend you use this company. read more

AARD PEST control has been my go-to company since 2003. First of all, they are incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. Most importantly, they are fair and I have always been treated with the utmost respect. Bill is amazing. He has helped in three different houses I've lived in. Once for an attic bee infestation in 2004, once for termites in 2009, and once for a possible "visitor" of a rodent nature this past July. All of these "pest" control issues freak me out, and the second I think I have an issue, I call AARD. I know I'll never be cheated, and I know that Bill and Stephanie wouldn't leave me here worried about "critters" roaming around. His property checks are extremely thorough, and he tells you how each critter works and how best to not only keep them away, but to not attract them to begin with. I have recommended them to everyone I know, and I have never heard anything negative back. If you use this company, you will be in great hands. I'd never use anyone else, and am happy to give them my recommendation the highest rating possible on Yelp. read more
