Aardvark saved my life when I was dying from hunger. I flew in from the United States for my annual trip to Banff. This time around, I didn't get to Banff until about 11 PM. Seeing several restaurants open on Google Maps, I walked to each one, down the line. They were all closed. I didn't eat since breakfast that day and with the local grocery store closed too, I thought I was going to pass out. The hostess from Canadian Brew House down the street mentioned my choices were Aardvark, Domino's, and Subway. No offense to Subway or Domino's but when I travel, I don't eat at chain restaurants. I'm so glad Aardvark was open! I ordered a 9" Aardvark pizza (pepperoni, Italian sausage, mushrooms, green peppers, tomatoes, onions, and black olives. They made it fresh to order and I got it within 10 minutes. It definitely hit the spot!

We were recommended to check out this place for an easy quick bite by our driver, who is local to the area. As we were waiting for our food, a lot of locals came in and the owners knew them by their name and their regular order which for me, says a lot about the service and the quality of food since they keep coming back. Our poutine was very fresh and delicious. We came back a few times to try their pizza and sauces which were also delicious.

While the quaint little town of Banff might not be the right place to take your five young grandchildren that have been stuck in a car for hours, we needed to find them some lunch. Aardvark pizza to the rescue !! Had a delicious hot pizza ready in no time to feed the crew. They were ready to see the beautiful National Park with full bellies. Thanks again !!

I got food poisoning from the veggie pizza, so beware! I'm still giving this place 2 stars because I enjoyed my slice of pepperoni pizza and I love the convenience of this place's hours. The slice of veggie pizza was probably sitting there for far too long and it was the only slice that my friends didn't try. (I was the only one that ended up getting food poisoning). Their made-to-order pizzas were delicious though, so I'm willing to give this place another shot for something that hasn't been sitting the in "Hot" section haha.

Great food and friendly staff. Premade slices don't look the best but the made to order pizza and house made ranch are great. Nice look inside but very limited option to dine in.

Wow so glad I spent $16.75 on "wings" .... Just order pizza nothing else worth it! No where else in town is this shit

I ordered a small pizza from this place and it showed up to my door looking like what's in the picture. I would not even take a bite of this the way it was delivered. Can't comment on the taste as I didn't even take a bite.

This is GOOD pizza. Love the thick crust- fluffy and crispy. Sauce was good. Bacon pieces were real bacon. Fast & free delivery. Good prices. Ordered a few times while here.

It's 1am and you're feeling f'n hungry...this place is pure heaven. It's an oasis for the late night eater. Honestly I'd eat there any time of the day but it was the greatest thing to hit my lips in that moment. Just go there...eat anything. It's all freaking good!

We ordered a gluten free Aardvark pizza. It was ready when promised to pick up. Nice and hot, but the crust needs to be a bit crisper.

Can get a better pizza in the frozen section at the grocery mart. Quality seems to be okay if you're 8 beers in.

Admittedly, I'm not much of a drinker but I'll have some once in a while and Bear Street seems to have a pretty good selection. I tried a Vietnamese Coffee Stout which I enjoyed. I'm definitely more of an eater than I am a drinker and the eats at Bear Street Tavern are excellent. My party got 2 pizzas and a salad and we enjoyed it all. To start we got the Tavern Bowl. It's a bunch of different vegetables with a Tahini Miso Dressing and kimchi on top. All the different textures and flavors worked really well together and the salad served as a nice break between bites of pizza. The Wheeler Hut pizza has mushrooms, ricotta, truffle oil, pesto, and mozzarella. If you're a fan of truffle flavor you'll enjoy this pizza. As soon as it was brought out I could already smell the truffle. The Mediterranean has olives, feta cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, artichokes, red onions, chili flakes, spinach, mozzarella, and balsamic glaze. A little busier than the Wheeler Hut, but it was equally delicious. I'm not sure which pizza I liked more. Both pizzas had a fantastic crust with some char. Substantial enough to stand up to the toppings but still a little doughy for a nice chew. The char gives a nice crunch as well. Service is quick and friendly and the prices are fair, especially in a tourist area. I definitely recommend Bear Street Tavern.

Apparently, they make all of the beers on top in house. We tried their beer flight, which features their post popular beers. The pinery pilsner, happy trails pale ale, and peach cream ale were probs my fav. We also tried some of their food which was delicious as well, but the star of the show is def their beer. We tried their elk and kale pizza and tuna poke bowl. Never had elk before, but it tastes like lean beef! Our server was from Ireland and she was a real gem, she's off to Australia soon! We had the Mac and cheese and the beer battered fish and chips. Both were delicious and served with such speed and accuracy our heads were spinning! In a good way! The Mac and cheese had shaved mushrooms, not big chunks, but shaved, that is the difference between a chef and a cook. The Fish and chips were phenomenal, they use their own beer for their batter and you just need this in your life!

We loved the variety of pasta shapes and flavors, and you can watch them make it in house too :) My favorite pasta was the truffle agnolotti and the tomato-based rigatoni with just a hint of spice. The agnolotti was unique and tasty; the cheese filling inside was so creamy, smooth, and thick without being pasty. And the perfectly sized rigatoni was simple but creamy and flavored just right (wished there was some meat though!). The pastas were cooked nicely, but I prefer just a smidge more al dente. Happy to have vegetable options too! The asparagus and beets were yummy and a little different (yellow beets with a goat cheese sauce instead of crumbled, almonds and burrata on the asparagus), and the salads were full of flavor without dousing them in dressing. Overall, a nicely presented and delicious meal for everyone! Our waiter, Dylan, was charming and friendly. He skillfully cleared our table's stacks of plates in one go with ease and kept our water glasses full (thank you!). One of the best things about Banff Ave Brewing is that all appetizers are half off on Fridays (at least during happy hour)! They also have a nice selection of beers.
