I will start by saying that what made this truly unforgettable was the memory I shared with my family and the many first experiences. With that being said, the rest of the experience left much to be desired. We decided to purchase our tickets at the booth, and our transaction started with one individual and then another took over. She told us the total, we paid, and started to fill out the waivers. While filling out the waiver, she took a phone call with a prospective customer, told them the pricing, and also told them there is a processing fee to use a credit card, something that was never disclosed to us nor was it advertised. Very unfortunate, as we would have paid cash. We were instructed to go to the waiting area and listen for our name to be called. We talked to a few people who were there before us and quickly realized that they had been waiting for over an hour, and people who arrived after us were being called. This was the second red flag for me. Our reservation time, unbeknownst to us, was 2 pm, and we were called around 2:15 pm, not bad. Our name was called, and before we knew it, there were a total of 13 individuals in a buggy on a scorching day, packed in there like sardines, so close that you could literally feel your neighbor's sweat. I will say that our driver, John, was absolutely a gem; he was kind, knowledgeable, and let us into his world. The overall route that we took was very nice; it allowed us to experience something we would not be able to do otherwise. We were amazed by the land, the sheds, and the homes. Be aware of the horse "rest stop," which is really another money grab with cookies and beverages for $3 each. Unfortunately, even with these positives, I do not believe I would go back. The customer service was just terrible and not forthcoming with information. read more

This was an awesome experience! Like most tourist attractions, it's a bit pricey--but absolutely worth it for the half-hour buggy ride. We had the pleasure of visiting the farm owned by our driver, who was knowledgeable, kind, and welcoming. He spoke loudly and clearly, but if you're sitting in the back of the wagon, it can be a little hard to hear at times. Stopping at his farm was a highlight--he warmly welcomed us to take photos with him and around the property. Horrible customer service. Sold us tickets for 1:30. Over an hour late. They let people on who bought tickets after us so that they could fill buggies to capacity. All about money and craming as many people into one ride as possible. RUDE customer service when asked what was going on. Yelled at people to give tips to driver after all waited an hour past our time. Ride was through corn fields. Not much Amish country. Not very authentic. Only good part was driver John was very nice but hard to understand because so many people were packed into one buggy on a 90 degree day. Could have been so much better. We had a great experience with the horse and buggy ride, especially for the kids who were invited to ride up front! They were thrilled! We were a small group, as they did pair us with some folks we didn't know to fill up space. We were taken on a pleasant ride to the gentleman's farm (I'm sorry I can't recall his name) where we were introduced to his horses and cats, and we were given the opportunity to peruse and purchase baked goods and root beer made by the family from scratch, as was the claim at least. What an absolute disaster of an experience. We booked the Private 90-Minute Back Road and Baked Goods Buggy Ride with Aaron and Jessica's Buggy Rides, and it was a total waste of time and money. Our so-called tour guide was one of the most unprofessional and unengaging people we've ever encountered. He told the same corny, terrible jokes at least 4 or 5 times like he was stuck on repeat. He barely answered any of our questions, instead just droning on with what sounded like a memorized script. When we did try to ask something, he talked right over us as if we weren't even there. The horse looked exhausted and worn out even though we were the first ride of the day. That alone was upsetting to witness. The much-hyped "bakery stop" was laughable--there were no fresh baked goods whatsoever, just some sad pretzels. The playground was soaking wet for no reason (it hadn't rained all day), and the petting zoo tried to squeeze more money out of us by charging for feed that the tour supposedly included. The worst part? Our guide had the nerve to ask us to buy him ice cream and a pretzel because he didn't have money. Then he sat there eating for almost 20 minutes while we just waited for him to finish before he could be bothered to wrap up the tour. This was an embarrassing excuse for a tour. Between the laziness, the dishonesty, the mistreated horse, and the guide using paying customers like a personal snack fund, this place should be ashamed of itself. Do yourself a favor: don't throw your money away here. read more

This was our first horse and buggy ride with this outfit (I wanted a change). I loved that they took debit/credit cards and it was a quick sign up process. We waited approximately 20 minutes for our turn. Our driver, Jack, was cordial and just the right amount of funny! My daughter and I got to sit up front with him, which was awesome! I Would've gave a 5 star review, if this app allowed me to give a ZERO star that's would be what I selected. UNBELIEVABLE!!!! Someone had a chihuahua( not a service dog) on the wagon that was loud and annoying. Really don't understand why the people in charge of running this business would actually allow this!!! Luckily it didn't spook the horses with that high pitch yapping from that chihuahua. We couldn't hear the nice lady talking about Amish living. Not what I expected for our 1st Buggy ride after driving 2 hrs plus to Lancaster. Heads up there is a few other buggy places to try if you see a dog coming on board your tour. Hopefully they won't allow dogs on board. Very sad to give a bad review, however this was very disappointing to pay for an unenjoyable tour. read more

John our guide was extremely patient, knowledgeable. The carriage horse Bluegrass was so happy to be out he almost tried to run. The tour was very informative and the animals were very receptive. Two goats had just given birth to triplets a couple of weeks back. So cute! I had never seen a mule in my life and I was not disappointed. Showed up on a Sunday and was surprised to see them open! Sunday tour was only $20 for about a 30min ride with some extra time to load in and unload. The ride is only maybe 2-3miles long, so you're not here for the scenery of farms and Amish schoolhouse that you can see anywhere in the area, you're here for the experience of riding in a carriage and being able to ask a local anything you'd like to know about the area! The carriage runs when it's full of people, and since there isn't much around here open on a Sunday, it actually runs pretty frequently. They keep families together, so if one carriage is too full for a family, they may have you wait for the next one. The waiting area has picnic tables, a game, and horses usually pulled up to the gate for gentle petting while they eat or drink up. Plenty of parking for those who arrive in "steel horsepower". Payment is cash and is given to the guide after the tour. BBQ Restaurant and attractions nearby to make more of an afternoon out of it. read more

I did a buggy ride with this company back in 2018 when I was just visiting and again in 2022 now that I've moved to the area. The people are so nice! We waited less than 15 minutes for a ride on a Monday afternoon. Our driver was Chris, who told us a lot about the area and even his personal home. He answered all of our questions and made this a really fun experience for us. It was so reasonably priced at $16 per adult. Spend a few more dollars on the driver tip as well as some lemonade from the stop along the ride. We will be back! read more

We had booked a ride today and just an FYI. If you're thinking that this may be an informative ride from the driver who is Amish then find another one. When asked by a passenger to talk about some history of the Amish he said we are people like you what do you want me to tell you. That is not an answer from any tour person . He didn't even speak about the area we rode thru. Or the homes we passed he had nothing of use to say. Then the shed that sold cookies had no one in it so a passenger had to get out to open the door to find it empty so since there were a good amount of kids the driver went in and sold us the snacks . Very poor grade for info and service. read more

I took the 30+ min buggy ride today, Wednesday 8 Oct 2025 about 1-2pm. It had drizzled in the morning and was overcast with temps, I think, in the low 70s. I took the tour with another couple, who were very friendly and personable. Our guide was Anna and our horse was Bluegrass. Anna was absolutely a wonderful guide: friendly, knowledgeable and full of tidbits that were so informative (i.e. the difference between the Mennonite and Amish buggies, a local house unoccupied for an extended period due to mold, how expensive farming was which resulted in many Amish working for businesses). She also gave us the history of Bluegrass (such a beautiful and intelligent horse). She kept our attention, kept us engaged, kept up a steady stream of engaging conversation - we all felt very comfortable asking questions. As I read through reviews, perhaps it would be very beneficial to Aaron & Jessica Buggy Rides to have Anna train new (and even veteran) guides as she is a definite asset. I would also like to give a special thank you to the young lady who answered all my questions patiently and worked with me in tipping my guide. I was wary of signing the waiver, but upon reading it, I can only assume they have had frivolous issues since gross negligence, etc is not included in the waiver (PA law). After all the very positive statements I have given, the loss of one star is because the window on the passenger side (where I was sitting) was damaged and all my pictures from my window were not useable. This deficiency is very noticeable and definitely takes away from the overall experience of the tour. read more

My family and I greatly enjoyed this. It seems others chose not to make a reservation or go on a hot day which affected their experience, but we spent the 10 minutes looking around on Yelp for what we wanted. We chose to do the hour long farm tour, which the gals really enjoyed getting to pet the animals. The page requests arriving 15 mins before depart, and we chose the first depart time of the day. The staff was getting the place ready, so we walked around the area and hit the restroom. As aforementioned, we had a reservation set, and informed them our name and party. We were asked to sit in the back of a covered buggy. (Our group of five appears could have been joined for a total of 8-10 people in the back.) Then a couple was directed to join us and the Karen audibly stated "ugh I don't want to sit and face them.. can't we sit up front".. lol. Whatever lady :) My family and I enjoyed our ride, got to see the farm, pet some barn cats and horses, purchased some treats at the stop. Some may feel that boarding a buggy, to pull out of the lot and go down a street passing an orchard, soybeans, and corn, to turn down a driveway and park there, tour the stable and barns and see farm animals, be solicited by kids to purchase homemade root beer, lemonade , and baked goods, to return to said road as not enough, or not worth the price. Perhaps the 200$~ + what we spent on treats is a bit high, but the experience and enjoyment my family and I had was great. Would recommend -- recommend make a reservation and don't pick a hot day during the summer in case ya have to wait for anything lol. read more

We were there yesterday, June 25th, for an early morning buggy ride! It had to be one of the hottest days of the summer so far!! Our driver was Chris and he was a pleasure!! It was a short ride to the farm and then you take a tour of the farm. You get to feed some of the animals as well. This was such a fun and informative experience with Linda! A former Amish. She had lots of interesting info all about Amish and the area. Riding in a horse and buggy was such a neat way to take the tour. Relaxing and out in the rural farm land. We got off and got to tour an actual Amish farm complete with their dog Tracy! So cute and loving. This farmer had switched to carpentry from milk production.It was a great experience, wonderful weather too. We also got to see the expertise the goes into Amish building.
