I received another recall notice for my 2025 Ford Ranger so I called Aaron Ford Service in Poway. This Ford Dealer is closest to my home. The phone kept ringing, then a recording came on to leave a message. I never got to speak to a live person, so I left a detailed message. No call back. Two days later I called again. Same situation-except I kept getting hung up on while waiting on hold then getting hung up on when someone picked up. I called several times until a service person finally answered. I was asked if I would go on a "brief" hold, I said okay. After being on hold for 5 minutes and 37 seconds I gave up. I called Aaron Ford the next day. Again, a long wait on hold. When the service person got on the line, I was again asked to go on a brief hold, I said no because I was left hanging yesterday. He said, "Let's not worry about yesterday" "what's going on today"? I told him about the recall and he looked up my vehicle. He told me the earliest appointment was in seven days and they-Aaron Ford would need my vehicle for 1-3 days. When I asked questions about the recall he got impatient with me. I asked, if Ford needs three days to repair my vehicle, do I get a rental? He said Ford will not give you a rental. I asked if there was anything else Aaron Ford could do, he said he would have Aaron mobile service contact me. After three days, they never did. I called Perry Ford in National City. I got through to the service department with no difficulties or long waiting times. The service person patiently answered ALL my questions about the recall. In 2 days Perry Fords Mobile service came to my house and performed the recall repair. Even though Aaron Ford is close by, I will continue to use Perry Ford for my service and vehicle purchases. Even if it means driving to National City. Very disappointed in Aaron Ford of Poway they used to be good. read more

My backup camera had been cutting in and out for over a year, and it finally got to the point where it was out more than it worked. I received a mailer from Aaron Ford of Poway offering $200 off a service, along with the line, "Your last visit may have fallen short, your next one won't!" Ironically... not quite. When I made the appointment, I was told they would need to diagnose the issue and, if a part had to be ordered, it could take a few days. I let them know that was fine, I'd just take my car back and return once the part arrived since I don't live nearby. I dropped my car off Wednesday at 8am and received a text with a link to check the status, which seemed like a great feature. Unfortunately, the link didn't update at all until the very end of the process. By 2pm, I hadn't heard anything, so I called. I was told the camera needed to be replaced, the part was already in stock, and the car would be ready by 11am the next day. Not ideal, but also not surprising since dealership service centers are notorious for overbooking and underestimating turnaround times. It still worked for me, so I stayed overnight at my mom's house expecting to head home before traffic. The next day, I still hadn't heard anything by 11:40am, so I called again and was told the technician was finishing another car and mine should be ready around 1:30pm. Not great, but manageable. At 2:10pm, having not heard anything, I called again and was told my service advisor had stepped out and would call me back. That never happened. I called again at 2:45pm and was told they were still working on it and would call when it was ready. By 4:10pm, after still hearing nothing, I called yet again and was finally told my car was ready. The way it was phrased made it sound like I had just happened to call at the perfect moment, as if it had just been finished. However, the status link showed the inspection was completed at 3:10pm, so it's unclear whether the car had already been sitting there for an hour or if the updates just weren't accurate. Either way, I ended up leaving right in the middle of traffic, which I had specifically tried to avoid. They did take an additional $50 off on top of the $200 coupon and washed my car, which I appreciated. But overall, the lack of communication and constant need to follow up made for a frustrating experience. While this repair would be out of my abilities, I would imagine that for a certified Ford technician it's a fairly basic job, which made the nearly two full workdays and minimal communication even more frustrating. read more

To start, I had issues booking my appointment. I finally scheduled it through text, only for me to show up on a Monday and not be on the schedule. Thankfully Jadon took my truck in anyway. After having my truck Monday & most of Tuesday Jadon said they couldn't hear the engine "ticking" and told me to come pick up my truck. For some reason, the technician listened again and confirmed it was my timing chain. Happy to hear they found the issue, I told them I have a 3rd party warranty and to contact them for repair costs. Wednesday Jadon contacted the warranty company to start my claim. From there it all falls apart. Thursday Jadon was sent to last minute training, so when the warranty company requested records he wasn't there. I went into the office Thursday to see why there was a delay where I spoke to Supervisor Eddie who apologized and ensured me he sent the warranty company documents they requested and to text him if I needed anything. Texted him Friday, no response. I understand having a 3rd party warranty can cause delays but they had my truck for 7 WEEKS!!! During these 7 weeks I had to be the one to contact the dealership AND warranty company and figure out what was going on and why there were delays etc. Warranty blamed dealership and dealership blamed warranty. I know I am not the only client but I needed my truck fixed & and did NOT have a rental car. For 7 weeks... Now it's hard to say WHY this took so long. I mostly blame the lack of and poor communication. Jadon claimed he had issues with contacting the warranty company, but when I called I had no issues getting information and things scheduled. This was my first time using my warranty & having Ford Poway repair my truck. I understand I am not the only client but I am very hesitate about coming back. I bought my truck used, through THIS Ford dealership in September 2025. For me to come back in February 2026 to have bad timing chain tensioners. I understand I bought a used truck from them but I feel like the sales department also lied to me about services records which is a whole other issue. In the end, I finally got my truck back and on pick up Michael gave a little bit of peace at the end of the disaster. By far the worst Ford service center I've done business with in my 40 plus years owning a Ford! Quoted prices on repairs only to have the final bill hundreds of dollars more. Pay $300 for a complete detail, they didn't wash the windows inside my vehicle. Damage my vehicle doing the repair and then claiming that it wasn't their technicians. I received a few texts and emails from Aaron Ford regarding an A-pillar trim recall on my 2017 Ford Explorer. I wasn't sure if this was legit as I had never done business with Aaron Ford before so I looked up the issue online (www.nhtsa.gov) and low and behold, this was a legit notice. I called the service department and they scheduled a tech to come to my office this morning to confirm the issue with my vehicle. Not only did the tech show up on time, he also kept in touch with me via text which gave me time to meet him in the parking lot. A very temporary fix was done with masking tape (yes, masking tape!) and I have been added to a very long wait list for the parts (not the dealer's fault as this is a very large problem affecting over 500k Explorers). When I asked the tech about replacing a totally separate rubber sealing that was cracked and worn, he told me to reach out to the parts department. I ended up driving there during my lunch break as the dealership is only 10 miles from my office. When I asked the parts manager if they honored the Ford Parts online pricing, he gave me the discount while I was standing there and I left with the part in hand rather than having to go online at my office, order the part, and then return to the dealer to pick up the part which Kearny Mesa Ford made me do one time in the past. In less than five minutes, I replaced the very worn rubber sealing in the Aaron Ford parking lot and drove off. I really appreciate the customer service that I have experienced so far at Aaron Ford and plan on purchasing any and all future Ford accessories and parts from them. I have done multiple reviews for Aaron Ford as I want to share my experiences with future customers. My reviews are quite similar but the repetitive excellent customer support needs to be recognized and shared. I own a 2017 F250 Superduty 6.7 and as you can expect if you want to keep the truck there will be repairs needed as well as regular maintenance. My service rep Jadon Cueva and Assistant Parts Manager Joevonni Villaescuza have gone above and beyond every time I needed immediate help. The cowling between the front windshield and hood had deteriorated weather stripping and needed to be replace so that water would not get into the engine compartment and Joevonni and Jadon located the parts on Friday afternoon and installed it the next Monday morning. These young men are eager to provide exceptional customer service and I have received it many times the last 2 years at Aaron Ford of Poway. I certainly hope that their Management rewards both of these young men as they are a true asset to Aaron Ford. Thank you once again Jadon and Joevonni. read more

Aaron ford gives Dodge dealers a good name. In March 2025 I took my 2021 Explorer in for smoke issues. They decided after 2 weeks it needed a new engine. This is a common issue that indicates turbo seals but somehow they got ford to buy off on new engine. With my platinum warrenty, they should give me a loaner car if they keep car overnight. It took 4 days for them to approve a loaner car and not after service manager made me sign off saying that if it exceeds 10 days, I'm on the hook for overage. I agreed to that. The sent an authorization to enterprise for a rental. 8 days into rental, they told me they'd give me a loaner car at the end of the 10 days as this repair was covered under the powertrain warranty. A month later, engine replaced, the next morning, smoke from oil burning still present. They said it was from leak in exhaust..... They fixed "leak", next day, same issue. Finally, after taking it back, they determined turbo seals were bad. Replace turbos. Fast forward to Nov 2025, I see a charge on my cc for $520 from enterprise rental car. I call them up and they "are idiots" can't see charge. After 3 calls, they say Aaron never paid the bill. After hours and hours, between Aaron and enterprise, we reach the conclusion that Aaron never paid the bill and since I signed for rental, am responsible. After numerous hours contacting Aaron's service manager, Eddie has promised hand delivering the check to me 4 times now, and the General manger, Ryan, has been in the loop on all of this. This dealership has turned out to be one of the worst businesses I've had to deal with. I've leased/purchased 10 fords over the last 10 yrs personal/business and Aaron is the bottom of the food chain. If I were to guess, I would have to assume they double dipped. They charged corp ford for rental and canceled payment to enterprise. Prove me wrong! This will be the second time I'm taking them to small claims court. read more

I had a great experience at this dealership in 2024. However today in 01/2026, the service department was all stared at me as if I'm speaking a different language. (I'm a car guy, not naive to this industry) I allowed about a possible technical service bulletin for my truck. The service advisor assumed I want to buy the part and started to send me to another department. I explained that I want the part to be replaced. She proceeds to tell me how she'll need info then have to look it up etc.. as though that's not normal. The other four guys are looking at me like I interrupted their afternoon nap! Of course, she would need my info, my truck VIN, mileage, and to make an appointment. I understand this- but this advisor talks to you as though your completely incompetent. I'll take my business elsewhere. I guess the good staff has left this dealership. Coincidentally I stopped by the Escondido location a week prior to consider buying a Bronco. Another Aaron Ford employee (sales) first words to me is "how can I help? Are you looking to make a decision today" Within the first 10 seconds of meeting. Train your people better. I have taken my vehicle to Aaron Ford Poway for the same issue on three to four separate occasions. There are at least three active recalls explicitly addressing excessive EV battery drain and calling for battery replacement. Despite this, I am repeatedly told that the issue must be "duplicated," yet the dealership claims they are unable to do so during the brief 10-15 minutes they drive the vehicle. According to the Service Manager, Eddy Ruiz, I was assured that this matter would be resolved in my favor. Before purchasing the bronco I voiced my concerns about needing the ability to tow. I was told installing the hitch and wiring harness would be easy and that I could do it myself. I did the install on my own--had to buy a few tools, but I got it done. Afterward, I found out that Ford needs to do a software update to activate the wiring harness, which costs $260. This is frustrating, especially since Ford's website shows the full install (labor) for only $196. I understand the sales rep may have misspoken, but I did all the work myself and still have to pay more than the full service would've cost. I believe I spoke with Eric in Service, who said I'd need to talk to the original sales rep for any help with compensation. Overall, very disappointing. read more

I have to say that this review is one of the most difficult I have felt I needed to do because the whole experience in buying a car from this place, and more importantly what happened afterwards, was traumatic and lasted months. I have bought many cars over the years, some new, some used, and was well prepared for the usual used car antics (which of course they did more than any place I have seen before) such as using several different people to try to get us to finance at a higher rate, which they kept dropping when we wouldn't go for it, and trying to sell us all these add ons, and they even seemed to pretend initially that they couldn't sell us the car right away because one of their computers was not working, which extended our visit there for 5 full hours but none of this was the reason for the 1 star review. What we found out after we reviewed the paperwork when we got home, and their response (multiple people there) is the reason for the 1 star. Despite the 5 hours to buy a car, and all the shenanigans on the day we bought the car, in the end we were happy to go home and my son liked the car we found, but upon reviewing the paperwork in more detail we realized two big mistakes were made. First, we had opted for an extended warranty and it was not at all what we had agreed to. We were told at the time of purchase by two finance people there that the warranty we bought was for 7 years and 100,000 miles "from the date of purchase" which they REPEATEDLY said started from the date we were purchasing the car which was 10/2024. I was a bit surprised by this so I asked the two who were selling us the car 3 or 4 times if they were SURE that the 7 years started from the date we were purchasing and they assured us it was. However, on careful review of the paperwork it said the 7 years started from the original purchase of the vehicle back in January 2020, which means we had paid for a warranty that's would have only lasted 2.5 years, which we would have never purchased had we known. I told the person who sold us the car about this, and initially he tried to tell me that I was not reading the contract correctly and still insisted it was 7 years from OUR purchase 10/2024, so I called the extended warranty company and they confirmed I was right and they were wrong. I asked they please either cancel the contract and reimburse us or fix it to be 7 years from our purchase. Initially his response was "no problem" and that he would definitely fix this and just had to get permission from the general manager. To make a very, very, very long story short, it took 4 months and approximately 30 calls, and having to just show up there a few times since they kept repeatedly lying to me that they would take care of it and I that they would have it fixed in a week, and then they would never get back to me and they kept leading me. It finally took going in person and insisting they fix this, for them to finally fix this after 4 months. Ugh! On top of that another error they did was to sell us an alarm system which allowed the car to be remotely located if stolen, and then they actually ended up selling us one that had no monitoring though they charged us for the monitored one. Both times, there was no apology for these errors, and especially with the extended warranty fiasco, they never once said "sorry" for this huge error, and the delay in fixing this for 4 months. To top it all off, by the time they finally did fix this error, they subtracted the prorated amount for the 4 months we had the extended warranty which we would not have had to pay if they had promptly fixed it, which may be why they delayed fixing the issue. I was so exhausted in dealing with them, I just accepted that and just never want to deal with this place again. read more

They consistently disappoint over and over again by not answering their phones, replying to voicemails or updating status on my vehicle. I bought my Bronco there (Sales team was fine) and serviced two Explorers there for the past 10 years because it was the closest Ford dealership to my home. This place is a scam. Brought my car here, they kept the car for 2 days and I had to pay for a rental car. Then they called and told whatever issues with the suspension and brakes , can not be repaired. Everything needs replacement and cost will be 2500$. I could not afford that so I said we will skip. Then I went to pick the car, they did not fix anything ( not even the bulb in the headlight we specifically asked to check) , they did not change brake fluid also , they did not even do minimum outside wash. Horrible experience. They made an original offer on my vehicle for $23600. I went in once and they told me that the car needed two new tires (not true based on the traditional "penny" test) but they came back with an offer of $23200. I wasn't in a rush to sell so I left. They continued to contact me asking me if I changed my mind. Eventually my wife told me to just do it before Christmas. So I went back. After sitting there for 2 hours the guy comes out and says they will give me $23300 and SHAKES MY HAND. I say ok. Then they came back at the last minute and told me they would only give me $23000. When I pushed back the sales manager started yelling at me and accused me of lying claiming I said I would accept $23000 (if that were true, why would I be upset and writing this review?). He also claimed that the market changed and the price of the car had decreased in the week. So for the heck of it I submitted a new offer request online and what do you know... I got an offer from the same dealership for $23,775. The market actually shifted the other way. I have the receipts see for yourself. They're scumbags and liars. Poor communication and I will not go back. My Mustang Mache had a defective battery cell. It was a long repair. I'd call and text for status and would be told "I will call you right back" many times only to wait days to actually get any details. I was given a "free" rental but not told they had a 10-day max rule. The repair took longer than that and I was charged for the extra days by the rental company when I turned the rental back. I should have been told of the 10-day limit going in, so I could choose to extend or not. It took over a week to finally be told about the 10-day limit after I asked them to cover it. In my business we had a 24-hour rule on responding to messages, and a policy of full disclosure regarding costs and limits. They would do well to adopt those types of procedures read more

During the negotiation process on a cash purchase for a used car Aaron Ford tried to sneak in an additional $1495.00 for an alarm that I didn't ask for, I didn't want, that's already included on the vehicle... When I asked them to remove the $1495 for the alarm, they said they would add another $1000 to my trade if I paid the $1495 alarm. We had a deal and then in the final transaction they wouldn't honor the extra $1000 dollars on the trade so there was a difference of $505 I needed corrected. I pointed out the mistake, but they told me they were "all-in" even though the math was wrong on the estimate and they wouldn't fix the mistake so I walked away over $500 on a $40,000 cash purchase. Not cool wasting my time knowing im in the middle of a move. The used car had been in an accident and had aftermarket parts. Shady business tactics just like the other Aaron Fords. I bought a "New Car" the end of December 2024 and here it is May and I've been getting dicked around for months being lied to be every employee I've spoken to on the phone and in person. My bank who I got the loan from is not penalizing me because they don't have the title and I now have expired registration and the dealership keeps telling me it's the DMVs fault but the DMV said they started the process and it's incomplete. The parts department gave me the wrong fuel bowl filter and had to drive back after specifically clarifying my needs. When I just got back to my oil pressure sensor, which they had just specified one part and then they sold me an option because they have two different threads sizes (which was not asked about), they didn't specify there Were two options. On top of that the OEM part is cheap metal now. They just don't make them parts or the parts folks like they used to. The management would not make an exception for because it was back in October 2024. On three separate occasions, staff from this dealership called me to give me a quote on repair costs. Each time, I approved the repair, and then they called me back in a panic to apologize and say they weren't actually authorized to give me that quote. I'm not kidding; this happened three times. After three weeks, I finally got a quote (that was real) and I authorized repairs. Once they finally did the repairs (now having my car for a month) they told me it will cost $700 more than they quoted and I authorized. The customer service here is a joke.
