I reached out to Aarons moving company about availability for a move. They mentioned that it was available but asked to schedule an estimate which I did. After I've stayed in to meet with their specialist, I received two emails within 5 minutes, one asking for deposit and another one saying that the date is no longer available. This was less than a week before scheduled move data Aaron's moving representative refused to take responsibility and said that it's their standard practice of doing business. Highest Praise Possible! The crew from Aaron's that moved us yesterday went above and beyond our expectations. There were several issues that they professionally handled without a blink. A door had to be removed, feet on a sofa had to be removed all to fit through a small door. The team knew exactly what they were doing and we had complete confidence in them. On the other side of our move, we were on the third floor with no elevator. These guys worked very hard and never stopped. Each piece was treated carefully and put exactly in place. Again, a shelf was too tall for the door and they took off the top and made it fit and re-assembled it. The two were pleasant and friendly and efficient. I recommend them highly. Ever move out of a place with a lot of friends who pledged their assistance and then suddenly that number dwindles to two? And this is a move that really needed a lot of extra hands and a big truck. This was the situation that me and my wife found ourselves in over Thanksgiving weekend, when we had to move from a 2-bedroom apartment into a house. Aaron's Moving was recommended to us by the many yelp reviews found here, so I wanted to add my own. Because of our limited assistance and lack of proper transport, we contacted Aaron's and spoke to Viktoria (who was exceptionally helpful and very friendly over the phone). She set us up with an appointment the day after Thanksgiving, for a 2-man crew ($50 an hour each, plus $10 for gas and a 4-hour minimum = $410). Konstantin and his associate showed up promptly at the designated time. They did a brief walk-through to determine how to proceed, and once they determined which rooms should go first, they were very efficient. They moved out all the big items, including a very unwieldy and huge L-shaped desk of mine, in under two hours. Having had negative experiences with other moving companies, we were very impressed with Aaron's Moving. They worked hard, and they did take a lunch break while they drove our stuff from the old place to the new (and so did I), and they met me at our new house on-time. I highly recommend Aaron's to my friends, and to my fellow yelp'ers. What can I say about these guys that others haven't? Well they are very professional, humble and great great customer service. I have moved 4 times in the past 2 years trying to find the perfect house and Aaron's were the best movers I had out of all 4. Have and will recommend them to all my friends and family. While they are not the worst moving company I have dealt with, they are not the best either. They needed to do 2 trips to move a 3bd/2ba house because the truck they used was too small. This added 3 hours of travel time (at $145/hr) that could have been avoided had they mentioned this when they came to our house to give us an estimate. The movers did not use pads to protect the furniture, but there were no major casualties. We did all the packing ourselves and nothing got broken. When we asked them to wrap a king size mattress, they did not have a bag for it. They wrapped the mattress with plastic foil and now it has stains all over because the movers had dirty hands and they missed several spots. Rafael and Viktoria were very good on the phone, even when we needed to reschedule the move with short notice. Unfortunately can't say the same thing about the movers. read more

I used Aarons moving at end of March 2018 for moving from my 1bed apartment in Mountain view to 2 bed apartment in same city. I first chose the service because of affordable hourly rate on cash- $99/hr. Booking the appointment was easy and fast. 2 movers arrived on site on time. I got a confirmation call before they arrived. The movers had a fully equipped truck with all packaging materials. The movers worked tirelessly for over 7 hours and were very efficient. Movers were very skilled. I was amazed how they moved in my queen bed frame from 1st floor to 2nd floor. They prepared the hardwood floor prior to moving in new apartment to ensure there are no scratches. We've used Aaron's for four moves during the past 10 years. In every case, Aaron's provided fair pricing, excellent communication, careful moving, and on-time performance. We just completed a fairly large move from Palo Alto to San Luis Obispo that required a stop at the place we were renting and a storage facility. Not too happy with Aaron's. Everything leading up to the move was fine. Service was prompt and professional. On the day of our move a 3 man crew showed up. Now, I've hired many moving services before. The level of competence and professionalism from Aaron's movers were definitely the worst I've experienced. It's not terrible, but if you have used a good moving service with pro movers you will be disappointed. First of all, they were slow and inefficient. There skill level at moving is just not what I would expect from professionals. They were certainly faster than getting friends, but I'm convinced that other movers I've hired in the past could have done it an hour or more faster. Secondly their communication was terrible. They asked the same asinine questions 5 or 6 times. I told them I wanted everything moved and every 15 minutes they would ask if I wanted X moved. It's like they didn't share half a brain between the 3 of them. They did some other utterly stupid things like pack a trash can in a box with the trash still inside! They also left on a lunch break without notifying us. We were left wondering where they were as they hadn't even moved everything out yet. We were not able to get a hold of them either. We went to our new house and waited for 20 minutes. When we told them they had left without telling us and hadn't even moved all the furniture they didn't even apologize, just gave a dumbfounded look. They did everything you'd want from a mover - - they quoted a fair, competitive price -they showed up on time -they were careful with my stuff in packing, unpacking and didn't break a thing -they were smart! They were able to unload boxes based on what was written on them -they worked efficiently, didn't damage my walls dragging stuff out. -they were very nice people. What more could you want in a mover? The real test of a company is what happens when things go wrong. Here's what happened with Aaron's this weekend: We were supposed to move Saturday with a big truck, enough for a 3 bedroom. That truck broke down on 101 before it got to our house, and Alex called me promptly to explain the problem and offer two solutions: reschedule for Sunday, or send a smaller truck Saturday then finish the job Sunday at no extra cost. We chose option 2, and Alex was really professional about the whole thing. Saturday went fine: they sent two people with the smaller truck, were very efficient, and they did a good job. We confused the team by having two stops and a few items ended up at the wrong house, but that was our fault. Sunday they sent three people with the now-repaired big truck, even though we only had half as much stuff left to move. Hmm, that's an extra $50 an hour, right, even though our house is mostly empty? Yep, turns out, they charged us the full $150/hour for their time, and in the end, even though they moved pretty fast, it came to over $1300! Thank goodness we were paying cash - but the cash discount amount changed every time it was brought up. 5% at first, 7% when I called back to book, 6% on Sunday morning, 5% Sunday afternoon, and then finally 6% when I said so. This move would probably have been completely smooth and half the price if we had chosen option 1, and waited a day to do it all at once. But I also strongly feel that we were overcharged when the crew did not honor Alex's promise to come twice at no extra cost. read more

With so many moving companies in the bay area, I would NEVER use these guys again. Here are the reasons why: THEY DAMAGED OUR FURNITURE. While I likely expect there to be some small dings, they actually damaged my standing chest, stereo cabinet, futon bedframe, and mattress. THEY ARE DECEPTIVE. - When we questioned the movers about their taking a break, they gave us handbook telling us that we were supposed to pay for their cigarette break. The estimator NEVER gave us their handbook, no less mentioned it. - We called the manager/estimator about the damage before settling the bill. He said we needed to pay the bill before the damage could be addressed by their insurance. IT WAS A LIE. They wanted to get paid and NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR DAMAGE. THEY DON'T KEEP THEIR COMMITMENTS. - The estimator said they would wrap our white sofa before moving it. The movers DIDN'T. - The estimator said he would come to look at the damaged furniture and address our complaint within 3 days. We DIDN'T hear from him and needed to call him again. He said he was too busy and couldn't come. The estimator has yet to call us to schedule a time. I do NOT recommend these guys and would NEVER use them again! read more

Given the reviews I thought they would be awesome. Three Russian guys, started out friendly but became more typically russian as the day wore on, in other words, moody and dark. They did a good job though it took a long time. Some of that was the slow elevator on the destination side. My previous move cost a little over $1000, this was $1600 and there was less stuff. I knew it was going to be more per hour but I thought since I was moving from a 2 bedroom to a 2 bedroom it would be faster. They seem to be careful movers but take their time. read more

We used Aaron's again in January to move furniture from one side of our duplex to the other (piano, dining room set with china cabinet and bedroom set, all heavy stuff). They also delivered an electric hospital bed to a friend in San Jose and set it up for her as part of the same move. The guys were great, the job was done quickly and efficiently with no damage or mishaps. The office manager Viktoria (not a typo spelled with a 'k') is very efficient. The guys that showed up were really nice and worked hard. Viktoria was very responsive and easy to deal with in booking my appt. Here's why I didn't give them 5 stars 1) They showed up on time in the morning, but then they had to leave because they couldn't open up the back door of their truck. This caused about a 45 minute delay. 2) One of the crew members was wheeling my storage cabinet. He accidentally lost control, and the cabinet slipped and left a 3.5 inch long scratch on my brand new hard wood floors. Ouch! 3) When they un-mounted my television from the wall, they didn't carefully take off the hdmi cables first. As a result, the tv's hdmi port was compromised and now one of my hdmi ports no longer has any sound. read more

Based on the other reviews, I must had different movers. Overall, I would not use the movers again and just pay the higher cost of their competitors. First thing, I asked the movers to either cover the carpet where they walked or remove their shoes. Shoe covers were provided in lieu of the above two options. The shoe covers were removed after the first 30 minutes and not used again. The first few items being moved, one of the movers was not careful to prevent hitting the walls. The furniture would hit the door frame then the wall. Dropped a small desk drawer on the drive way as well as breaking a leg off the desk. They told me the leg just needed to be tightened but after looking at. The wood leg was split during the move. They overall process was very slow! I ended up moving many of the boxes myself. It would have cost an extra 2 hours if I didn't help. From the start, they mentioned that they took tips. I was ok with this until I actually saw how slow they worked as well as their care of our property. If you go with them, which I strongly discourage, buy the insurance to cover the damages. From this experience, go with larger companies. You expect movers to have proper shoes and back supports as well taking a certain care of your belongings. read more

They moved us twice. The first time done very well because there was a native English speaker who was the "manager" on the scene, and kept the workers on a tight leash. The second time the entire crew was incredibly unprofessional. Showed up with no boxes, claiming we never "ordered" any even though it was the booking manager's job to tell us we needed to order them. Asked for extra fees to make the round-trip to pick up the boxes -- while the clock was ticking. Movers were careless and packing sloppy. They told us they would try to make things right by helping us move the last bit, and then later charged us for the time it took to "make things right". Language barrier by both office and moving staff created misunderstanding everywhere, unnecessary tension, and extremely unpleasant and inefficient move experience. The movers figure you will seldom move, so they really don't care about the "user experience". They only care if your realtor is involved. They direct a constant stream of business to the movers. These guys are amazing! I highly recommend them. They arrived on time and ready to work. I've never seen movers be so careful with belongings. They only took one smoke break and had our one bedroom moved from Burlingame to Palo alto within 3 hours. I don't understand the reviews saying they were moody or that they took a lot of breaks. We offered them drinks and they were welcomed but when we offered lunch they politely declined and kept working away. I recently moved and, after having two horrible moves with another company, I promised myself to be prepared by researching, asking questions and if they couldn't answer them to move on. I ended up with Aaron's and was not disappointed. The receptionist was very clear and upfront about all the charges and even encouraged me to use the coupon they were offering on Yelp. On the day of my move the two man crew showed up on time, got right to work, and finished my move quickly. I'm giving four stars instead of five because: 1) when I called to book them, I was told they would set up the bed frames, but, when they finished my move in under the minimum time, and I asked them to do the bed frames the movers said they didn't 2) They charge $7.50 for paying with a a credit card. I hardly write checks and don't carry the kind of cash you need to pay movers. It seems antiquated to charge for convenience. Overall I was very pleased and when I move again I will absolutely use them and would recommend them to anyone. read more

I decided on Aaron Moving after seeing good review on Yelp. I left message for several movers and they were the first one to respond (on holiday). The move is from our storage into 2nd floor apartment. They arrived on-time and were very polite and relaxed :) I could see why some reviews complained that they were slow. They were a bit slow compared to other movers we used in the past. However, one thing I did notice is they were 'very' careful with handling our stuffs. That was really a plus because sometimes movers just dropped thing on the floor even when the box has 'fragile' or 'handle with care'. These guys were extremely careful, so to me, this is a tradeoff for being slow. At least, I was confident things wouldn't break and no damage to the property. They finished the work in about 6 hours which is exactly what the estimate came in. In fact, when I got the estimate I think it was a little overestimate, but now I know why. They know what they were doing I guess. For the most part, I had quite a good experience with them. So, if you want movers who are polite, not intimidating, and were careful with your stuffs (of course with the trade off of being a little slower), I would definitely recommend them. We needed movers with insurance so went "professional" as the condo HOA we moved to requested. Three guys. Pretty fast and decent but I am writing a bad review for three reasons. 1) I asked so clearly for them to wrap my babies crib so it would not be damaged. They ignore me and say it will be fine. It was totally scratched up and damaged. I pay for the damn wrap so why not use it? 2) we had a total of three really expensive big furniture items. My $1200 leather chair has a near hole in the arm. Almost punctured. Ir is permanent damage in a visible place. 3) Viktoria is horrible. Won't respond or call back once she has your credit card. Won't use these guys again. read more

This reveiw is super late - from march 2009. i moved 3300 miles across the country and had the worst move of my life. if it wasn't lost in-transit, it arrived damaged. so when the time came to move locally from a storage unit into my house i was completely dreading the task of finding another moving company. i chose Aaron's Moving specifically because of the yelp reviews. wow! this is an amazing group. i called last minute and they had availability in my 48 hour time frame. they showed up on time, cleaned out my storage unit (where all of my belongings were) And WOULD NOT LET ME LIFT A FINGER TO HELP! haha. "this is our job - you relax". once finished they followed me to my new home and unloaded my stuff and moved the furniture into place (up 2 flights of stairs, mind you.) nothing was damaged. they were so nice and professional, covering the floors before moving my stuff in. and they did it super fast and at a great price. In October of 2013 we had Aarons Moving move two of our family into a new condo in San Jose. I spoke with 3 other moving companies and decided that Aarons would work for us. I think what sold me on them is when the Manager came out and gave us the bid and Victoria who is the " office lady" in charge was also their. They were very professional in doing the estimate and very polite. They were clear in explaining what they would do including taking care of breakables. The moving truck and three guys showed up on time, they were efficient in moving the furniture, packing, securing loose items and did not waste time. They arrived at the new destination on time, unloaded and moved up to the 3rd story using both the elevator and stairs. They were working hard and even had to deal with a oversize couch that would not fit into the elevator nor could go up the first flight of stairs. They had to manhandle it by lifting it up to the 2nd floor mezzanine and then they could work it up the stairs. I want to thank all three guys for doing a great job and we will use them again and I would recommend them to all. read more
