Bad service and poor communication…read more I've been trying to catalogue my MTG collection lately. I drove 40 min to get to this shop because they have a machine that scans your cards. I paid the shop to rent the machine and waited for 2 hours. Then the staff told me "We made a mistake setting this up. We can't give you the scanned info, but leave your cards behind and your email address, and we can send them over. You'll just need to scan this thing we send you." I was uncomfortable leaving my cards behind because they're important to me. But I didn't want to walk away empty-handed. So I decided to trust them and I left my cards behind. I didn't hear anything for 4 days. I had to call them and they said "Oh the employee you were talking to got sick. If you want to pick up your cards you can do that though." I asked "How about scanning my cards?" and they said "We'll message the sick employee and call you back to let you know what he says". I waited 3 more days and they didn't contact me at all. I realized they weren't going to reach out to me to resolve the issue, so I had to drive down to the store to demand my cards back. I don't know who the person running the back of the shop is. Maybe the manager. Maybe the owner. All I knew is that they had context on the whole situation and knew that I had returned to get my cards. They didn't bother to come over to talk to me. They didn't even give me eye contact. They didn't make even a single attempt at improving the situation. Not even an offer for store credit. Not even a sorry. They just shrugged and yelled across the room "machine's broken". Then they went back to puttering around and left another employee to deal with me. This other employee had no context on the situation. All she could do was hand me a cash refund and give me a confused "Sorry...?" I was treated like I was an annoyance. Someone who'd go away eventually if you ignored them. Not a respected customer who just wanted to do business. I'm not mad that the machine was allegedly broken. I'm only slightly mad that the employees aren't trained on how to use the machine. I'm frustrated that I paid for a service and they didn't bother seeing the job through to the end. They didn't communicate when they decided to give up. I trusted them with my personal card collection and they betrayed that trust. I don't even know if I have all my cards back, but I'll never know. Save yourself the stress.

I must say I'm really unhappy, annoyed and disappointed with my visit today. I've been waiting…read moreweeks for the patriotic stuff to go on sale (seriously, me and my mom have been looking every Sunday on the app). Well it finally went on sale today!! I went to return something and then browsed the isles to pick out some new items for my red, white and blue decor at home. (4th of July is my FAVORITE)!! What.A.Let.Down. A large majority of the items looked like complete trash. Many, MANY things scratched and scuffed up. I don't want to decorate with crappy looking decorations. A couple items were even ripped (see America sign photo). What the heck!? Who in their right mind would think it's ok to stock that on the shelves? I contemplated taking these items to someone but it would have likely filled the bulk of the cart. I wish I would have taken more pictures but you can see how bad just the few were that I took. Do better, Hobby Lobby. I really hope management sees this.

They had…read morespring items on sale for 50 percent off like plates, stainless steel and glass water bottles, planters, wall decor, wind chimes, toys, and so much more. My mouth dropped wide opened when I saw really good stuff on sale. They even had plain colored t-shirts for $3.25 each. My friends and I spent about an hour roaming around the store. So much to see with lots of options also for crafts. We spotted a section for clearance items where my friend bought plastic water bottles for $1.25 set of 3. So he bought two sets for $2.50. Such a great deal. We were all satisfied with what we bought at amazing prices. Can't wait to go back!

So as I'm checking out this other guy told me bulk is off limits until it's been price checked, and then told me my total of 58-60 cards was almost 30 bucks. I did the math, he charged me 50 cents per card and just counted the total up, talk about price gauging. Mind you, they had boxes of bulk stacked on top of each other, so who knows what's been checked or not either, watch me get a scolding for trying to master set some things. There's other card shops that actually do free bulk, I'm definitely gonna stick to them. EDIT: So after reading the other reviews left behind, I can definitely say they do lowball for whatever you bring in. I overheard this one couple bring in some cards that sounded rather high in value based on how the responses were for what they would offer and they were gonna give them a low offer, which I think they declined on some of the cards so good for them.

In terms of value, they are super transparent with pricing. When pricing cards out, they definitely align with TCGPlayer market values, which is very refreshing compared to other card shops in the area. All of the staff is extremely helpful and attentive even when a tournament is happening. Nick always takes the time to explain pricing and answer any questions that I have. I've always walked away feeling like I got great service. My only slight suggestion is that I wish they sold slabs and had Lorcana tournaments. However, I can't complain when Perfect Rares is always a 5/5 experience.

I have been to other local game shops, most of them are 'mom and pop' style (no knock on them), this store is presented very well. Well lit, tables lay out very well, super clean, a couple of monitors to let you know of your queue status for trading in cards. This store feels like something 'official'. The staff are all very friendly. I am starting to build a Chopper collection, but I don't want to break the bank and looking for cards that are under a certain value. They were able to provide me with quite a few options well within my price range which I later checked were all within market value so no rip-offs here. The store events are also really well run and super organized (Shoutout to Lance). Vibes for the whole event is great even for 'new-ish' players like me. Played a game with a really chill guy who brought his son to compete in the same event (Love that). Played against the (eventual) top player of the event who was super patient with me. Learned so much playing. Added note: During the event I lost two of my Chopper Don cards and I asked the store if anyone turned it in which is unfortunate no, but they so very kind enough to give me two Don cards so I can continue participate in the event. Came in on a Tuesday night (7 PM ish) and had a very positive experience. The other TCG stores I…read morehave visited recently have been low in Riftbound stock, so I was very happy to see that this store carried both sealed product AND had one box of Riftbound bulk cards for each of the sets up until Unleashed. Best of all, the commons were only 25 cents per card! I did not play any games while I was there, but the store was full of players for multiple different games. I also appreciated that the store employees seemed to know some of the players by name, which tells me that they do see the store as a community space rather than just a business. What stood out to me the most though was my interaction with one of the employees named Anthony. He saw that I was picking up Riftbound cards and asked if I wanted him to introduce me to the other Riftbound players present and break the ice. While I declined the offer, I thought that it was a great gesture and yet another example of how this store cares about the community aspect of card games. While this store isn't near me, I can see myself going back soon, both to buy and play.

It's one of those stores where you look around and think, "Okay, I don't need this... but I definitely want it."Now, I'll be real--the whole blind box/surprise box concept isn't really my thing. The idea of having to keep buying boxes just to hopefully get the one you actually want? Yeah... that would drive me a little crazy. BUT... then I saw the Snow White piece. And wow. I'm obsessed. I came in needing to sell some Pokémon cards because life has been hitting me pretty hard financially. I wasn't expecting miracles, I just wanted someone to be honest with me and give me a fair deal. From the moment I walked in, Tien treated me with respect. He took his time going through every card instead of rushing me out the door. He explained everything, answered my questions, and genuinely wanted to make sure I got the best deal possible. You can tell he actually cares about the people who walk into the store, not just the transaction. What really stood out to me was that they listened to my situation. They didn't have to. They could've just made an offer and sent me on my way, but instead they worked with me and made the whole experience feel personal. They even helped make sure my son got to keep the cards that meant the most to him, which honestly meant more to me than they probably realize. A huge thank you as well to the supervisor (I think his name was Logan the one with the tattoos). He was just as friendly, respectful, and helpful. The entire staff made us feel welcome.
