TLDR; great card shop for people getting into collecting cards. Before coming into this store, there was never a reason for me to buy my single cards at a brick-and-mortar. I don't know who helped me because I was too overwhelmed, but he was so friendly and helpful. Actually everyone working there was pretty respectful and friendly! No one was judgmental or mansplain-y, it made me more comfortable asking questions since I'm newb. Price checking on cards was also super quick and he didn't look annoyed, so I was able to ask for the price of a lot of cards. Having to bother someone about pricing is lowkey a big reason why I hated brick-and-mortar, especially when I be ruining their day with every query, and then end up not buying anything. Such a relief it was not the case here. I was looking for a Pokemon card, lowest listed on TCG player was $14 + $2 shipping, and I was quoted $17 for it at the first card shop I stopped at ($1 not a big deal, but I can just buy online). I came here and the first price I was given was $16 which is the same as I would have paid online, but as I asked about more he was able to give me a package price for my cards without me having to ask (because I am not comfortable haggling, even though I think it is part of the card buying culture?) which I very much appreciate. I'm sure I paid less than I would have if I bought these cards online. I might not have bought as many cards as I did though if I'm being honest, but I guess that's part of the business deal. Overall my first super stellar shopping experience with buying single cards at a card store! I would defiantly recommend coming here if you're new to collecting cards! I don't have a lot of friends that collect cards and I'm not great at Googling questions so it's not as easy for me to learn how card market works without getting a little ripped off but the people here were super helpful and welcoming. I'm a casual collector of vintage Pokemon cards as well as some newer cards, and Perfect Rares is definitely my go-to. The cards are organized extremely well, and there always seems to be new stuff every time that I go here. I can always rely on this place for variety. In terms of value, they are super transparent with pricing. When pricing cards out, they definitely align with TCGPlayer market values, which is very refreshing compared to other card shops in the area. All of the staff is extremely helpful and attentive even when a tournament is happening. Nick always takes the time to explain pricing and answer any questions that I have. I've always walked away feeling like I got great service. My only slight suggestion is that I wish they sold slabs and had Lorcana tournaments. Been here a few times. First time was for a One Piece Pirate Party event. Talk about first impressions. I have been to other local game shops, most of them are 'mom and pop' style (no knock on them), this store is presented very well. Well lit, tables lay out very well, super clean, a couple of monitors to let you know of your queue status for trading in cards. This store feels like something 'official'. The staff are all very friendly. I am starting to build a Chopper collection, but I don't want to break the bank and looking for cards that are under a certain value. They were able to provide me with quite a few options well within my price range which I later checked were all within market value so no rip-offs here. The store events are also really well run and super organized (Shoutout to Lance). Vibes for the whole event is great even for 'new-ish' players like me. Played a game with a really chill guy who brought his son to compete in the same event (Love that). Played against the (eventual) top player of the event who was super patient with me. Learned so much playing. Added note: During the event I lost two of my Chopper Don cards and I asked the store if anyone turned it in which is unfortunate no, but they so very kind enough to give me two Don cards so I can continue participate in the event. A spot near my friends that sells Pokemon cards and other TCG in a small plaza in Artesia. Very clean and well organized store with extremely helpful staff. They also help you out a bit if you pay in cash! The fees can be pretty bad so it's understandable why they would give you that kind of value with a cash payment. We came in to get some singles as we usually have and they were able to find a lot of the cards we wanted, even the ones that had sold out in the front, they found in the back! read more

The service was amazing. They were swamped and made sure to get to every customer, made us all feel attended to, they were working as a team, and everyone felt sincere. They pull up the webpage with prices and show you what they're currently worth so that you don't feel taken advantage of. We'd been looking for a shop to buy cards from and a box and we'd walked away from three card shops because of the staff not giving us the time of day. My son has been begging for me to take him here since he just started collecting Pokemon cards. I finally got to take him right after his eye doctor appointment. It's his 9th birthday in a few days so he wanted to look at what they had so he can plan on what to buy with his birthday money. Once we walked in we were warmly greeted by Nick. It was our first time here and it felt overwhelming (for me lol) but Nick was very attentive and made sure my son had a great experience at his first card shop. My son asked how much certain cards were and Nick didn't hesitate to check on pricing for him for all the cards he was interested in. Card prices and condition were great. I've purchased cards online for my son but he was always anxious about the quality. We'll definitely be back since my son is obsessed with Pokemon cards now. Perfect Rares, shame on you. Last 3 times, I've had bad experiences and vibes. Nickel and diming me on singles, adding +1,+2,+3,+4 to singles that I am buying well above TCG market pricing. Makes me start to feel like it's a scam because I'm a girl. Today I came in with reverse holos, holos, and special energy cards as bulk. I asked how much my bulk would go for, and employee quoted me 2 cents a card. I had special reverse holos in my box, poke ball reverse holo. My boyfriend got 15 cents per card on his previous bulk. Quotes me 10 cents on an EX that is $1.50 TCG. Specifically I want to call out the two employees for this quality of service. Main employee has done this to me numerous times, today the back store employee offered me 2 cents per card for bulk :) Please look into this Sam I'm disappointed in the establishment and how i feel there as a customer. I like this shop because it's local and often has a decent selection. My only concern/warning: please double check your card single prices on a reputable source (tcgplayer or smth) or ask for a breakdown and why they're selling to you at that price. I picked up a bunch of One Piece singles tonight, and I was charged $5 for a card that is currently under a dollar. Because I was a bit rushed with the breakdown, and didn't take the time to ask for a thorough explanation, I spent extra bucks and hadn't noticed. Should someone purchase a large bulk for deck building or the such, I would say to try and verify prices as accurately as you can. That being said, it could have been a mistake. I don't know the policy regarding instances like this, and am assuming all sales are final, so be careful! No disrespect to any of the workers. I'm sure they've got their hands full with the events they hold in the evenings. read more

This is one of my family's favorite local card shops to visit. We visit other local shops regularly as well, but the common trend I see here is that they are so great with kiddos, patiently and kindly engaging with them. This is such a breath of fresh air in a hobby that is currently so cut-throat and overrun by money-hungry adults. Shout-out to Jordan for being so generous and making my girls' night. I've been coming to perfect rares for about 2 years now, and I must say it is the best card shop in the area without a doubt. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful! The owner is also a really great guy! As a player I really appreciate how smooth they run all of their tournaments. I don't really collect, but their selection of cards is phenomenal. SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICES - AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Was working with an associate and picked out three cards: 1st card - $50, 2nd card - $48, 3rd card - $15. Once we were just about ready to check out with all 3 cards, another random associate (who wasn't even helping us) comes up and tells our associate he had to "check the price" of card 1 again. Magically, all of a sudden, the price of card 1 now increased to $75. Our original associate wouldn't honor the first $50 price he quoted us so we just walked away from all 3 cards. This shop's greed to want to make $25 more bucks, just to lose out on an $100+ sale is hilarious. Not to mention they're trying to charge $115 for Ascended Heroes ETBs when GameScalp only charges $100. Will never be coming back here and now I'll only be praying on their downfall. TLDR: Dishonest business, building smells bad, bad business practice, if you are going here be prepared with what you are looking for and how much things cost. honestly i am not a person to write negative reviews but this place honestly is just not a good place to visit. of the few times i had gone there i left dissapointed and honestly pretty frustrated with how the staff decides to handle things and the attitude they have towards their customers. the few times i went in there looking for some random things with my family just to browse ended up with the same frustrated feelings i had described. sure the selection is nice and honestly the store has a wide range of variety but the people behind the desk seem so fishy. I was interested in a gengar full art ex that had come out in a recent set and two people behind the counter were giving two drastically different prices. one would say the market price and the other would double the price of the card. i think that is super dishonest business especially when people are already in the store looking to spend some money. doubling the prices on people they think wouldnt question it is such a scummy way to make their profits. i say this because i noticed them doing it to a couple who had stated they were just getting into the hobby and were looking at the same gengar single i had passed on when the told me 16 dollars and told that couple it was 32. i believe the couple bought the card in the end and i wasnt able to tell them anything before they had left the building. terrible business practice if you are going here beware of prices and cross check on the prices yourself. there are several shops in the area and honestly you can pass on this one especially if you want a store that doesn't smell like body odor. read more

The staff was either uninterested or outright rude when I asked for help. Prices were inconsistent when calling over the phone one of the staffs told me a certain price for some items that I wanted to sell, so I drove down with a promised price but at arrival they changed the price on me and were telling me less than what I was promised. I work in retail when we make a mistake on an item we honor it due to the stores mistakes and the fact that they tried to down play me was upsetting. I've only been here three times but every time has been a positive experience! The employees are really helpful and knowledgeable! I don't feel annoying for asking a ton of questions and they constantly come back to ask me if I need help which is a plus, I've been to a lot of card stores where the employees don't talk to you or offer you help at ALL until you're paying. I'm new to the Pokemon card scene. My co worker had recommended me to go here since there's a decent selections of cute cards, so I swung by here last month with my husband and had a great first time! At that time, the worker was genuinely nice and even gave me a few dollars off my total purchase since I paid in cash. Fast forward to today.. I was so stoked to go back to this store with my husband since we had such a great experience there my first time! I wanted to check out if they have some cute cards that I didn't have yet. Started out great! I found 3 cards I liked. They weren't "cheap" few dollar cards either. They were $50, $48 and $15. A nice young guy helped us and then as soon as I said I'm ready to pay, some random worker, who wasn't even helping me at all nor even said a single word to me, came up and decided to check the price of the $50 card and came back telling the guy that helped me that it's $75 now and to charge us $75. How is this an okay business practice? Also, the other guy didn't even help us, why did he even jump into butt in out of no where. The random worker didn't have the audacity to look at me in the eye and tell me that it's now $75. He made the nice guy that helped us tell us that. I ended up walking out with nothing because that was absolutely greedy. They are definitely not for the Pokemon community, just money hungry. Pretty upsetting. Wasn't even worth it bring it up to manager or owner, since I didn't like how that whole interaction panned out. read more
