This is our third time staying as A B Camping in Cheyenne. They also run a bbq joint at the front of the campground. When I checked it it smelled too good so we decided to support a small restaurant and have some bbq. I called in the order and within 10 minutes I was back in our camper eating. It was AWESOME! I highly recommend it if you are ever in the area. Everything from the ribs, chicken, potato salad, baked beans and even the roll was delicious. Came here 3 years ago and it was the best bbq I've ever had. However, we were not here for Frontier Days. One of the reasons we wanted so badly to stay here again was specifically for the bbq. Sadly, yesterday was a tough day for them as they were out of ribs by 5:00 and chicken shortly after. They still had brisket and pulled pork, which I know from past experience was delicious, but they were also out of their homemade pie. THAT was disappointing. My husband and I had the ribs at 4:00, but you could tell that they were quickly cooked and not slowly smoked as we had had them in the past. I do understand this as they were trying to keep up with the demand -- it was just disappointing. Really disappointing too when we had a friend come up from Colorado to join us and they were out of the things we had been raving about for the last 3 years. Pay attention when you're following your GPS to get there or you'll miss it - we did!!Besides great food, generous portions and reasonable prices - the staff is great! A lady asked "how big is the half pound of brisket?" The counter worker answered her so sincerely "like a pound, only half that". I laughed out loud. We were staying at the RV park, and decided to grab dinner in the small restaurant. What a great idea! The BBQ ribs and pulled pork were to die for. The service was excellent and the tables were clean. Lots of meat, rolls, sides, etc. for the $. While there, a fire truck pulled up and stopped. Three local firemen came in and ordered their meals to go. If firemen eat here, it must be good. Will return, the next time in the area... only 3-4 minutes from downtown. read more

Part of the A.B. Campground. Very good BBQ and all homemade. Had the Ribs which were smoky and tender (if not a little fatty but that was ok). Sides were good had the beans and coleslaw. Three things first: 1) These nice folks are only open from 4-8 pm. 2) They tend to sell out of ribs early so if you want them call ahead or get here early. 3) This cute, unassuming place is IN a campground. Now for the real review. My husband had the 1/2 lb brisket with 2 sides. The meat was really flavorful. It wasn't sliced like some smoked brisket I've had. It was more like a pulled pork in texture. I had the chicken. They only sell a leg and thigh quarter so this was perfect for me because I like dark meat. The Smokey flavor was really good. We both had coleslaw, which was delicious; and baked beans which were okay. We'd go back in a heartbeat. read more

If you are looking for real bbq this is the only place in Cheyenne. They hit there cook temps all on perfect the ribs fall off the bone. There beef brisket is nice and moist. All there stuff has a nice smoke infusion don't go anywhere else you will be disappointed elsewhere. read more

This fantastic BBQ is tucked in a trailer/RV park. Blink and you might miss it. Was easy access off of I-25 where we had pulled off for fuel. Unpretentious with four tops searing for about 25. Some of the best baby back ribs I've ever had. Local fire crew was dining there when we arrived. We figured that was a good endorsement. Wether you are traveling by RV and staying n the camp or a Cheyenne local, this is THE BEST BBQ! The menu is quite large for a small venue and the prices are fantastic for the portions you receive. We had the "fall off the bone" baby back ribs and the brisket, and both were top notch. We were unable to try the desserts because the "pie person" was out of town. I love small businesses. This place is great! We went in this evening for the first time. We wanted take out for our group of 10. They helped us to order the right amount of food and it was ready in no time. Not impressed. Ribs were way too smoky for our taste and the BBQ sauce had a strange smoky flavor. I had a combo plate with pulled pork and brisket and while they were better than the ribs, they were a little on the dry side. Cole slaw was OK but the best part of the meal was the baked beans.
