My nephew was just drafted by a major league baseball team. To celebrate him and for good luck, I was shopping for a particular charm. Time was of the essence. One jeweler in Bellmore was closed, the other didn't have what I was looking for and pushing other charms on me. Not appreciated. The staff at Philip Joseph was friendly, understanding and had exactly what I was looking for. The price was very good. I asked for a jump ring, and they said they needed to see the chain. The next day I went back with the chain, broken, and asked if they could rush the repair as his flight is leaving in just a few hours. Within the 1/2 hour they called me back, told me the repair was done and charm, ready to go. SO ACCOMMODATING and they made giving my special gift so easy. Many, many thanks. If I could give 0 stars here, I would. The customer service here is DISTURBING. I cannot believe this place has been in business for as long as it has considering the way they speak to their customers. The rest of these reviews are likely fake, written by the unprofessional people who work there. My sister got her wedding band here about a year ago. She works from home, and is very careful with how she treats her jewelry. Twice now, she has noticed diamonds have fallen out and/or cracked. The first time she spoke with the jeweler, they repaired the ring, but said they could not guarantee it wouldn't happen again and said "diamonds break." My sister was blamed for the diamonds breaking. The second time my sister went back to the jeweler, she was met with anger and hostility. When she walked in, the jeweler asked "what did you do?" Once again blaming my sister for their poor quality ring. The OWNER of the store said "maybe your brain waves broke it." They compared the diamonds falling out of her ring to a car malfunctioning after purchasing from the dealership. If this were the case, one would bring their car back to the dealership and expect it to be fixed, however, they refused. My sister decided to go to a real jeweler for a second opinion. This jeweler explained that this ring shouldn't have been sold to her in the first place because these tiny diamonds are prone to falling out or cracking. Would have been nice to know, and a legitimate jeweler would have been transparent about that rather than just trying to make money off a customer. Expect your diamonds to break if purchase from this jeweler. It's one thing to have poor quality jewelry, but another to understand customer service. These is a poor excuse for a business. read more

I went there to pick out a special gift for a family member. When I entered the store I was greeted by a overly friendly worker named Anna. She seemed super sweet. I picked out a very beautiful and expensive piece of jewerly which I thought at the time was good quality. When I gave it to my family member we noticed that one of the diamonds was loose and one of the stones was stratched. I went back to the store with the piece and showed the owner the defects. The owner tried to convince me that the stone was fine. I had to keep insisting that it wasn't. Finally they agreed to fix the stone and fix the loose diamond. I wanted to wait for it but they kept making excuses why I couldn't. In fact the other owner came out and said, "what is it, you don't trust me I've been in this business for something something years." He went on and on and on. Meanwhile if I want to wait for my piece to be fixed that is certainly my prerogative! He made it all about him, acting insulted and child like clearly pointing the finger at me and away from him! I was never so happy with my experience at Philip Joseph Jewelers. The owners and the staff were amazing. So patience, never pushy, taught me so many things that I never new about diamonds. This was my first engagement ring that I ever bought and WOW my fiancée's face when she saw the ring was crying for days how much she loved it. I would be careful buying gold and having anything resized/ adjusted/ repaired by this shop. My (now) fiance invested in what she was told was a solid gold ring and had it resized it to fit. Having it resized was a mistake, they did a poor job and ruined the heat shape it came in, then the folks began to wear after regular usage and now the ring turns my finger green. Stopped in to have my wife's wedding rings cleaned. A few moments later the young lady comes out hands me my rings, I hand her my card to pay. She stops me and tells me to put that away there is no charge. Refreshing to have people that are actually helpful and generous. I will be back next time I need to purchase jewelry. They explain in detail everything and have great prices. Be careful where you purchase jewelry lab diamonds are being sold and people are paying double. I have nothing but great things to say about Philip Joseph Jewelers. I was in search of the perfect engagement ring and was recommended to Phil by a friend who lives in Bellmore. Phil and Neda were both incredibly professional throughout the entire process of finding the right diamond and making the ring. The setting itself was very intricate in detail with a unique "under halo" and Phil nailed the design making it exactly how I wanted! Best of all, the price was very reasonable - The value Phil added surpassed any minimal price savings I may have received by purchasing a diamond online. There's nothing like seeing the diamond in-person vs online. I visited multiple jewelers in Suffolk county but was willing to make the trip (45+ miles) out to Nassau many times because Phil was honest, knowledgeable, and very passionate about his business. What a waste!!! Don't bother with this jeweler. There are so many much better places. I spent 10 minutes on the phone with one "rep" that quoted me $25-50 to polish three rings (my engagement ring, wedding band and my husbands plain gold band). I specifically asked if that was for all three and his exact words were "I don't see why it wouldn't be since they are yellow gold." I explained my husband would be coming on his lunch break from Babylon so we will make an appointment. Once my husband arrived they lied to him (and eventually me on the phone) saying that it was per ring!!! Why would I drive 30 minutes to get ripped off???? The rep claimed he didn't remember the conversation "I talk to a lot of people on the phone how do you expect me to remember our specific conversation. I can't remember exactly what I said." Yet he remembered that my husband was coming on his lunch break. They didn't even try to help us or honor their word. Basically a bunch of liars and scam artists. "Say anything to make the deal" type of business. They don't even pay attention to their callers/potential customers. I will never use or recommend this jeweler. Would give no stars if that was allowed. After posting I spoke with a 40+ year Bellmore resident they agreed and recommend Genero Jewelers. read more
