I saw that this restaurant had opened up in what used to be Billy Bobz Barbecue (or if you are an…read moreold timer, what used to be Tim's Thai...) I can say that, while it wasn't quite Tim's Thai, it was definitely better than Billy Bobz! (FYI the owner of Tim's retired, which is why it shut down... sad that it went away, but I understand) The inside hasn't really changed much in terms of layout. There is seating in the front area for those that want to sit and eat in-house, and then the kitchen is in back. Orders are done as a counter-service with both a digital menu and a laminated menu at the counter. Sadly the first two choices that I wanted to order were not available, and now that I look at the menu online I don't even see them, so perhaps with the initial couple of months under their belt they are refining their menu and have taken off the things that I actually wanted to try... sad, but it happens. The girl working the counter was nice enough and helped me out figuring out something that was in stock What I did get was the chicken curry, which was supposed to come with black-eyed peas... not to my liking, but they were able to substitute it out with the mac and cheese. There was also a small side of cabbage that came with it, and I thoroughly enjoyed that. The curry was good, not at all spicy and I didn't see anything around that I could have used to kick the heat up, which was sad. The mac and cheese was alright, but I think it may have separated a bit... there was a light grittiness to the texture. Tasted fine though. Not a bad place... I think there are still some growing pains to deal with. While I was there, no one else came in to sit down (this was during lunch). There were a number of folks coming in to pick up orders, mostly delivery drivers and the like.

Selam has officially become a staple in our restaurant rotation! We've visited multiple times, and…read moreevery single experience has been consistently great. We always order the meat and veggie combo (which is the perfect portion for two) and occasionally add an order of beef tibs. I highly recommend doing that if you're extra hungry. Everything is always incredibly flavorful, well-seasoned, and comforting in the best way. I genuinely have never had a bad experience here. The food is consistently delicious, the portions are generous, and it always hits the spot. If you've been on the fence about trying Ethiopian food, this is absolutely your sign to go for it. The combo platter is a great way to sample a little bit of everything, and it does not disappoint. The only thing to note is that the restaurant tends to have a strong incense smell inside. It personally doesn't bother me at all, but if you're sensitive to that kind of thing, they do offer a few outdoor seating options.

If you have never had Ethiopian, the meat and veggie combo is a great place to start and get a little of everything. Be prepared to eat with your hands and enjoy the experience. The Ye Beg Tibs are my go to. But there really isn't a bad thing on the menu. It's spacious with plenty of seating and a full bar as well. Recommend dining in.

Absolutely the best dining I have experienced in the 30 years plus of visiting WDW. The food was…read moreexcellent, the ambiance was so well thought out and themed, plus the service was incredible. Regarding the service, our server was Badr, and he is a certified ROCK STAR. He went so far and beyond our expectations and his service is one of the main reasons our dining experience was so good. But you really want to hear about the food: Tea Service - Assum tea was delightful, with honey. Scallop and Pork Belly App - really great dish, very flavorful. Corn App - Khoki corn, I think it is called, probably the least favorite of all the dishes we sampled. Giraffe Bread - seems simple, but it is real treat. Overall bread service is great in all the AK restaurants. Short Ribs - another app, this one was so good. Morrocan Spiced Lamb - this was a fantastic dish, next time I may order two so I can take one home. Bone Marrow Crusted Filet - Another solid choice, filet was very well prepared and the flavor on the crust was delightful. Malva Pudding - good dessert, but I think there are other good ones. Raspberry Dome - get this dessert now and send me a DM thanking me for the tip . There is so much to do at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, please arrive early and walk through the lobby. There is usually a lot going on, plus if you walk to the back and you can view the animals. I might be biased, but the restaurants in the AK are all outstanding and known for different things. But with servers like Badr, it is hard to go wrong.

The flat bread and lamb were both good but I think the lamb has too much of the sauce flavor. Additionally (personal preference) I enjoy lamb chops more than the shank after trying this one out. One thing I enjoyed after the meal was going up to the overlooking area to see more animals roaming around.
