To help us beat the Florida heat, they thoughtfully brought us iced water right away without us even asking. We started with the cocktails: I ordered the 'Firefly' and my friend got the 'I'm Trini & I know it'--both were wonderfully light and refreshing. For appetizers, we went with the Foie Gras (GF) and the Scallops. Both were exceptionally succulent, delicious, and plated with the fine-dining presentation they deserved. Since our first round went so well, we ordered a second. My friend loved the Firefly so much they got another, while I tried the 'Meet me in Maui,' which I thoroughly enjoyed. The second Firefly wasn't quite as spot-on as the first--perhaps a shift change behind the bar--but we still enjoyed them all. With our second drinks, we ordered the main course: lamb chops with a side of vegetables, cooked medium-rare. We planned to share the meal and specifically asked for the mushrooms on the side since they weren't gluten-free. Unfortunately, when the dish arrived, the mushrooms were placed right on top of the vegetables beneath the lamb. The server was extremely apologetic when we pointed it out (likely a simple miscommunication given that we were sharing), so we just picked them off and placed them on my plate. A quick note on the lamb: we ordered medium-rare, but next time I'll probably go for medium-well, as it was a bit too tender for our preference--though still remarkably tasty. Surprisingly, the vegetables ended up being the unexpected star of the plate!
