Afrobeats has become my favorite genre of music over the past decade, and Nigeria has truly been at the heart of turning it into a global sensation. So, naturally, I had to dive into Nigerian food as well. There's a long-standing debate about who makes the best jollof rice, and if you ask me, Nigeria wins hands down, and Flavors Nigerian in Orlando proves that! Flavors is a family-owned gem, bringing a culture that's been suppressed for so long into the spotlight. Every time I come here, I feel like I'm getting an authentic taste of Nigeria, with the kind of warmth and tradition that makes the experience so special. I've tried so many dishes here, and I've yet to find one I don't like. But if I had to pick a favorite, it would have to be their chicken jollof or beef jollof. The flavors are spot on, and every bite has that signature, savory goodness you crave in Nigerian cuisine. If you're new to this kind of food or just want to try something different, I'd highly recommend giving Flavors a shot. The restaurant itself isn't fancy inside, but that's not what you're there for, the food and the people are what make it great. The staff is friendly and always makes me feel welcome, getting you everything you need for a satisfying meal. The portion sizes are generous as well. Flavors Nigerian is a true treasure, and I hope this review gives them the shine it deserves. Can't wait to go back I want some Jollof right now actually lol

Delicious egusi with fish! The fufu was smooth. Now my cravings will be fulfilled. The staff were polite.

We had never had nigerian food and this food was everything that I could have ever hoped for and MORE. The okra stew was a recommendation from the young man working at the front and he was SO right. I am blown away by the food quality and just how different it was than anything I had ever had before. 10/10 I will be returning again soon!!

    Abula and fufu

I ordered Abula which is half jute leaf soup and half bean soup. I personally love jute leaf so I was excited to try how it is made in Nigerian cuisine. The dish came with a side of fufu (pounded yam) and it was very filling. When ordering, you have the option to pick your protein (fish, chicken, goat, or combination). I liked having two different flavor profiles from the bean soup and jute leaf soup. The restaurant is intimate but has plenty of tables. Parking is very easy to find right in front of the restaurant as it's located in a plaza. Ordering at the front counter is simple and the wait for food is not long at all. Popular Nigerian and West African music plays throughout the restaurant. There's also a hand washing station for customers to use before they eat. Overall, I enjoyed my experience and foresee myself coming back for some more Nigerian cuisine.

Sooooooooo I went to the Flavors nigerian restaurant and I am going to give an honest review: Let me first say if there is ANY opportunity for competition to make some serious money, the time would be NOW!!! Currently this place has no competition in Orlando and that shows big big opportunity. Now let's get down to business. 1. I went with a friend. We planned this trip a week ago and the website clearly said they closed at 7:00pm. We ordered $80 worth of food to try this and try that. The man at the register said that they stopped dining in at 6:00pm and I kinda just looked at him cause we just travelled across the way thru classic traffic to make it before they closed. 2. The bathroom - I had to call on the name Jesus!!!! It was incredibly disgusting!!!! What a disappointment. And this is how they care about the customer experience. They don't. 3. We ordered several things and here is my take: Jollof rice - EXCELLENT Beef - was tough. Needed to be marinated and fall apart in your mouth but on the contrary it was hard. Efo RiRo with beef - EXCELLENT Fish stew- I did not even understand how the fish had NO SEASONING. Why?!?!?! Doesn't even seem like someone would send an entire fish from head to tail with do seasoning. And the stew taste like straight fish. Hmmmmmm could have been a paper soup of something with a nice flavor. It was disgusting. Ogbono soup with chicken - it was different with flavor but not horrible. My friend didn't like it at all. 4. As we are at the end of our experience the staff start arguing and making comments because the guy let us eat in the shop. They were speaking English and they were so rude and made us uncomfortable that we just started packing it up to leave. Mind you it was like 6:46 and they closed at 7:00. 5. On the up side I got a hold of a really spicy pepper and one of the ladies offered me a free bottle of water cause I almost died. Anyways. All in all. Disappointment. If you are looking to try African food like pounded yam (fufu) then just don't expect too much from the service side of the house. Idk I can't wait for a really nice flavor filled African restaurant to come to Orlando. I have pictures. And my Rating is 4 out of 15

I eat out all over the country. And when I travel I try to find food some places that I haven't been to or from cultures that I haven't eaten. I've had Nigerian food that was homemade many times since I was a child but never at a restaurant. I must say this is the worst food I've ever had. Na home, at an event, or restaurant. The so-called soup was slimy and had a very strange flavor. The fufu takes like raw dough with even less flavor than flour. I hope they read this and get a new chef. The only reason I didn't give it one star was because I like the afrobeat music that was played.

I usual have the time to take pictures and videos of my food but not this time the food was so delicious and smelled so good I was too anxious to eat . Service was good even tho he barely understood me his son pitched in and helped . First time trying African food and Orlando and I'll definitely be back . EVERYTHINGGGG WAS EVERYTHINGGG. P.S. THAT MEANS EVERYTHING WAS WOULD IT SHOULD BE OR BETTER Definitely can't wait to Come back tm don't judge me but I forgot the names of the food I ordered but I do remember how it looks !

Joloff rice with chicken, egusi soup with chicken, pounded yam

Stopped in on my way through town. Got the joloff rice and egusi soup with pounded yam! They were all SO GOOD!!! exactly what I was looking for. Service was pretty quick. Only downfall was the restaurant was SO HOT inside, must be the AC isn't working or wasn't on!

Egusi w/chicken, fufu, okra side soup.

Ok i gave this place a 2nd chance but it's the last chance. I love that the place is very colorful and authentic looking. The man there is very friendly and nice but the food, i just can't get over. I had the egusi this time. It was quite watery and bland. Only a hint of spice. I also got a side of okra soup. Same thing. Bland. For $20 and some change, they don't give you a good amount of food.

Jollof Rice with fish lunch combo

My first experience with Nigerian food. Although the food was well seasoned and flavorful, the food was dry and overcooked (the meat in particular). It tasted like it might have been sitting under heat lamps or buffet station for a long time. There was staff sitting in the seating area but did not greet us. Not sure if she was just in a break but it was clear she worked there. She also was the one that brought us our food, which came out fast. I want to give this place another chance since it is black owned and not very many African restaurants in this area. I will try them again since the food tasted good, just overcooked. Hopefully they can adjust accordingly.

Lots of variety at the buffet with all dishes well seasoned and flavorful! I don't eat much African food, so a lot of the items were new but familiar flavors. My favorites were the Fufu and other mash next to it as well as the cabbage carrot stir fry. For desserts, honestly, they all were pretty good - gotta take a bite of everything! I would say the only downside is service is a bit slow. My niece spilled water and they got our drink orders mixed up, but I don't blame them since it's packed. Just don't expect people to be constantly checking in. They did remove finished plates pretty quickly though.

The lines were disorganized and the front desk staff yelled out RSVP names. We ended up getting sat ~15 minutes past our RSVP. The food itself was over hyped. It is a buffet so expect to wait in long lines if you want the meat items (steak, sausage, chicken etc). The service was fine and relatively fast once sat. I personally won't be going again since there's better options that are more convenient to get to if you are staying at a different Disney resort.

Since our table wasn't ready, we spent about 20 minutes outside taking in the view. It ended up being one of the best parts of the night. I had the bees knees, which was light, refreshing, and a great way to kick things off. Of course, we had to try the famous naan flight, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The breads included traditional naan, garlic naan, spiced naan, onion kulcha, and paneer paratha. The accompaniments were just as impressive. It comes with mango chutney, roasted red pepper hummus, coriander chutney, tamarind chutney, tomato date jam, cucumber raita, and a jalapeño lime pickle. It was fun mixing and matching flavors! For my entrée, I ordered the butter chicken with rice and lentils, and it was exactly what I was hoping for rich, comforting, and very flavorful. As expected with Disney dining, it wasn't spicy at all but still really satisfying. We finished with the giraffe dessert, a peanut, banana, and chocolate creation that was almost too beautiful to eat. The presentation was incredibly artistic, and it tasted just as good as it looked. Overall, Sanaa is such a unique experience with great food, great service, and unbeatable savanna views. Definitely worth it.

Overall bread service is great in all the AK restaurants. Short Ribs - another app, this one was so good. Morrocan Spiced Lamb - this was a fantastic dish, next time I may order two so I can take one home. Bone Marrow Crusted Filet - Another solid choice, filet was very well prepared and the flavor on the crust was delightful. Malva Pudding - good dessert, but I think there are other good ones. We were looking for African food and this place certainly has African food on the menu, however, it is not actually an African restaurant. The waitress was totally unfamiliar with the menu and admitted to not knowing what was supposed to be in each dish (ingredients, garnishes, etc). She took a pen to our menus and crossed out more than 50 percent of the food options, citing lack of ingredient, according to the "chef." What followed was a truly horrible dining experience; coconut shrimp from the freezer section of a local mainstream grocery store (badly heated), a very basic burger (half the quality of TGIFridays and double the price), and plain rice. The burger had been advertised with a bunch of interesting and exotic ingredients but came out with none of them. When asked, the waitress acted confused and grabbed a bunch of weird random sauces from the kitchen. She actually asked us to fix the burger ourselves... with the wrong ingredients. The bill we received was so high (especially considering what was brought to our table) that we felt as if we were being robbed. This place is 100 percent, unequivocally, a SCAM. The game here is to prey on tourists....lure them in with a fake menu while some guy in the back (NOT an actual chef) prepares cheap, low quality basic food in a manner so lackluster he makes the average untrained home cook look talented. I could have done better with a bunch of grocery store convenience foods, at half the price. Do NOT enter this place, you will regret it. If you're hungry and you cannot find anything else, go for drive through fast food instead... you'll be better off.
