Crab CrAbbey Dog (hot dog w/ crab dip and Monterey jack cheese w/ old bay)

We got seated right away. This place is clean. I have to say that all the appetizers looked good. We ended with the crab dip which is WORTH EVERY PENNY. However, the burger itself was okay. Nothing special. Maybe next time I'll try the peanut butter burger which is an interesting concept..

After seeing this place listed as one of Baltimore's top-rated burger spots, I decided I had to check it out. I placed an online order for pickup and ordered the Baltimore burger (angus beef patty topped with cheese, bacon, and crab dip) and a side of fries. I requested that the burger be cooked medium, but it was cooked a little too long for my liking. Overall, however, the burger was tasty and filling. The fries were really well seasoned and delicious. Picking my order up was a seamless process. It was ready at the estimated time, and immediately upon entering the Abbey Burger and walking up to the bar for my order, I was greeted by the friendly bartender. I requested a soda since I was unable to order that online, and he gave it to me on the house which was much appreciated. The restaurant itself was really cute and had a few screens showing different sporting events, a pool table, and a jukebox machine. All the features of a great bar. I definitely hope to come back and try some of the other stuff on the menu.

I love the variety of burgers available! I was literally overwhelmed with the number of choices, and SO MANY sounded delicious. AND if there's not one you like, you can create your own burger with your favorite toppings, sauce, bun, etc. I will say the sweet potato fries were undercooked, so that was disappointing. The waffle fries were amazing!

Amazing burgers, pie, and service. We customized our own burgers, which were great quality and came out super quick! Harry's peanut butter pie was DELICIOUS and I devoured it! Absolutely recommend!

Ordered takeout and it was just as amazing as eating in the restaurant. It was ready quickly and so good! I ordered the peanut butter burger and added the raspberry habanero and it was the craziest mix of flavors.

We had dinner at Abbey Burger while on a recent trip back east to visit family. The place was inviting, clean, and warm. The staff were uniformly friendly and professional. Especially Harry the maitre'd and George our server. My wife had a build-your-own turkey burger which she described as omigod the best turkey burger she has ever had in her life - flavorful, juicy, and in an amazing pretzel bun. I had the game meat slider trio - one each of duck, boar, and bison - which were also excellent. Each slider had a different set of toppings which perfectly complemented the different meats. See pic. We finished off with vanilla and chocolate shakes. These weren't the best we've ever had. Rather, they were really good shakes to end an excellent dinner. We aren't booze drinkers, so can't comment on that part of the establishment. Visiting family in Baltimore for the holidays is a stress-filled chaos-fest at the best of times. Our dinner at Abbey provided a peaceful and tasty break from the madness. We will be back!

I stopped at abbey burger after a big event and the place got packed quick. The staff knew of the event and were prepared, but had about 40 people walk in at the same time. Things I loved: - beer selection -burgers -pool table (bring quarters) Things I wasn't fond of: Parking (wasn't exactly sure where to go) I will say I've already suggested this spot for my next work happy hour and can't wait to go back to see how my experience is as just a normal customer without 40 friends

They have a solid burgers. We got burgers takeout from the Mt Washington location for an outdoor " picnic " date this summer. We started off with the Crab Tots which are your classic crispy tater tots with a load of Old Bay Crab Dip on them. It is quite messy but delicious. Really the only way to eat them is with a spoon. I think they were honestly a little better in-person rather than to go because the crispiness of the tater tots is lost a little with the to go containers. But still a classic. For Burger - my husband will almost always get the Simply AJ10- he loves the Kobe beef burger with pepper jack and jalapeños and bacon. 10/10 Ill try different things- this time I got the Southwest Bison Burger- love a burger with avocado, jalapeños and creme fraîche. Also I always get waffle fries- which are as good as it gets. For COVID they started to can beers/growlers to go- which were very tall and generous. One of them exploded a little in the bag- but still salvageable. One issue is the parking- it is quite narrow, and if going at peak dinner time sometimes no place to park. The pickup is fast enough that I can get away with double parking. But best to go with someone who can dart in.

The Onion rings are unique. Anyone know the secret? We were there last night and I didn't order the onion rings, but my friend did. I got to try one. The batter is thick and spicy. It's more breaded and salty than I usually care for but I want more.

Sorry I don't know the secret??

Staff was quick and friendly. It was busy for a Friday night and there were some kids running around and being obnoxious, but other than that we had a great time. Washington Wine & Spirits has a small selection, but what they offer is carefully and intentionally curated - including some special and harder to find small-production wines! I found a Slovenian wine I wanted to try and a wine I had in New York earlier this year that I've been looking for but haven't been able to find other places (a natural/orange wine from the Italy/Slovenia border), and I wasn't even in the shop that long! (They also offer craft beer and artisanal spirits if that's what you're shopping for.) They also have a small bar where they offer different wines by the glass or flight each month (October's offerings including 2 whites, 1 orange, 1 rose, and 2 reds). They also offer wine tasting every Friday (4-7pm) and a rewards program (you earn points when you spend money in the shop). (They also do private wine tastings starting at $40/person, which I might do soon - how fun!) The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, too. Seriously, for a small shop, what a place! I can't wait to return. A gem of a wine shop.

I had a true 5-star experience at Nepenthe. A few weeks ago,…read moreI visited Nepenthe for a happy hour at work and had the chance to meet Chef Andrew. During our conversation, I mentioned that my wife absolutely loved a specialty burger from his previous restaurant. That restaurant closed several years ago, and the burger isn't on Nepenthe's menu. Without hesitation, Chef Andrew told me that if I gave him some advance notice and brought her in, he would get the ingredients and make it especially for her. So that's exactly what I did for her birthday. When the burger arrived, my wife was genuinely surprised. Chef Andrew even added a candle to the plate to make the occasion extra special. The burger was everything she remembered. She often says she compares every burger she eats to that one, but had resigned herself to the idea that she'd never have it again. Bravo, Chef Andrew. What makes this story even more remarkable is that I had only met him once before. This wasn't something I asked him to do--he was the one who suggested it. That's the kind of hospitality is something I'll never forget. The food at Nepenthe is consistently good, and the atmosphere is fun, lively, and full of energy. It's a great spot for happy hours, trivia nights, and group gatherings. I'll never forget the kindness and hospitality we experienced. This is Baltimore hospitality at its finest.

Nepenthe Brewing has a rotating menu of inspired vegan dishes. This isn't your typical burger and fry brewery. We've visited for date nights, during vegan week, with kids and without. Some of the dishes my family and I have enjoyed here are the Killer Tofu (top notch), Crispy Mushroom Banh Mi, Berry Smashed Mocktail, Lemon-Blueberry Cake and, for the kids, the fries with vegan pub dipping sauce. As long as Nepenthe keeps putting forth unique vegan food and mocktails, my family and I will keep it a part of our rotation.

It's what you do1 and this led to me discovering just how much of a certifiable beer haven Max's is! For a Philly comparison I'd put Max's on the same caliber as Glory Beer Bar and Kitchen but with a beer bible on the same scale as Monk's. It's been a beer haven for going on four decades and it shows with their 100+ rotating taps, 1000+ bottles & cans, a 4 casks that feature plenty of local Baltimore brews alongside the finest from Belgium, Germany, and then some! They even have seasonal special events like a Sour Beer Fest in June, and a Rare & Obscure Beer Weekend in October. The bar interior was classic food, with a huge main bar that showcased the many brew and spirit options. The bartenders were also spot on with their service and spot on beer suggestions. For food being so close to the waterfront had me craving some seafood, and the rockfish sandwich delivered with its Chesapeake seasoning and remoulade dressing. Each day of the week has a beer special at Max's, and Thursday meant that I was enjoying a discount on full pint cask pours. I liked that Max's had transparent pricing available for 4 oz to large pours and growlers to go on their menu for each and every draft beer, and the 4 oz pours made it easier to enjoy the 11% abv barleywine beer from a Baltimore brewery that I was curious about without feeling some extra inebriated repercussions during my ghost tour. It was extra details like that which had me really enjoying Max's and dubbing it a must visit for any beer lover visiting Baltimore.

My friends suggested that we dine here for restaurant week which was a sweet idea. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by the friendly hostess who took us to our seats. Then our waiter explained the menu and gave us some time to decided what menu we wanted to order from (Restaurant week brunch menu or regular menu). We chose the brunch menu. For the brunch menu we were able to choose a appetizer, entree, and a dessert for $35.00. Not too bad. For drinks I ordered PIRATE PRINCESS which was Ron del Barrilito 2 Star Puerto Rican rum, passionfruit, miso honey, lime, and togarash. It was a perfect balance of sweetness and a little bitterness. For food we ordered the shrimp and corn patties, and the pan roasted salmon. The shrimp and corn patties were delicious. It was packed with multiple flavors and it was seasoned really well. The pan roasted salmon was cooked to perfection. It was flaky, and seasoned very well. It came with Ramen noodles that I thought were going to be temperature hot however, they came room temperature which was fine. They were seasoned very well. The ambiance was very nice. It gave like 1950's/ 1970's vibe. Old marble tables, antique pictures on the walls. It seemed like the building use to be a house prior to it becoming a restaurant. It was a great time. If you are in the Hampden area I recommend giving this restaurant a try. I am looking forward to visiting again for dinner. Cheers!!
