Second time at abbey road for trivia. This place is just classic pub in all the best ways. A ton of TVs (there is even one in the bathroom) , slightly greasy food and cold beer. Decor is all Beatles/rock memorabilia which adds to the classic dive bar vibes. I got the lemmy burger with chips and my husband got the burnin down the house burger. Everything came out hot and with all the requested changes/sauces etc. Service was good but not excellent but it's also crowded on trivia night so can't blame them too much for that. Every time we come.to Abbey Road, we always have the best food and service! We went for an "early" Friday dinner to beat the Friday night rush. We got seated close to the bar and that was a fun time. The patrons were having a great time interacting with the bartenders, light and fun conversations. We ordered the Jumbo Wings grilled and a side/basket of homemade chips. Those wings...grilled to perfection! We ordered a couple of sauces on the side (Lemon Buffalo and Thai Chili). Both sauces were a nice addition, but the wings were great on their own! The chips are some of my favorite with their homemade ranch (i could drink their ranch, so good)! Service was wonderful, attentive and we never felt rushed. This was our second time here. The first time, the food took a very long time to come out. This time, it was reasonably fast. Their spinach and artichoke dip is a little too creamy for my taste. The pita and chips were good quality. Their chili is a little on the spicy side, but still hearty and good. I wound up taking the salad to go. The onion rings are fantastic, though! Definitely must get if you're here. Getting the check processed took a loooong time. The wait times are why I took a star off, otherwise I would've rated it four. Getting takeout was no problem at all. I think to prevent the wait time in the future, we may get takeout instead. The Chacha bowl was really good! When we went back for a third time, the wait wasn't too long. Their Buffalo dip is fairly good, just very greasy. The Santa Fe salad was impressive! Our fourth time here was terrible service-wise. No one seated us, and it took a solid 20-30 minutes before a waitress even noticed us. The wait for food was a while as well. I don't think I'd like to dine in again after this experience. Also, the Buffalo shrimp is quite dreadful-- they tasted like the shells were still on them and they were really tiny. A lot of time passed between visits. This time it took close to 40 minutes for them to notice us and bring drinks. Food came out lukewarm, and that coleslaw in the tacos is dreadful. The mahi mahi and the fruit they put on it is good, but the rest of the taco was inedible. Atmosphere was okay, but the live music was too loud and of varying quality. Came to this restaurant while on vacation and staying with family in Cary, NC. It was close and convenient. The waitress was very attentive. Appetizers came out timely. Our food was fast. We enjoyed drinks and the waitress made sure we had enough of those along with anything else we needed. Food tasted great and we left all very full. Have been before years ago and came back with a party of 4 to give it another try since we were near downtown Cary. We were seated promptly and wait staff was very friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately those were the only positives. Ordered chicken taquitos for the appetizer and they were terrible. Chicken wasn't seasoned and fortunately they were taken off the bill. We ordered the pretzel app instead and it was ok. For meals, everyone got burgers. Meat tasted unseasoned and "off" Otherwise fries and pasta salad were average. Plus food took a very very long time to come out, which didn't match up to how busy the place was. Even with great staff, definitely do not see a reason to come back here. One of the worst dinning experiences in a long time. Sat down and waited 15 minutes for someone to come to the table. We then waited another 45 minutes for two simple hamburgers and a side of fries to be brought to the table. I got the LEMMY had an overcooked burger, old cheese and one very small tomato. The biggest disappointment was that the burger has only one little piece of bacon. The side of fries were delivered cold, as if the entire meal was forgotten and just sat somewhere or fired late after it was lost. Then just quickly tossed together to get it to us. We saw a few people looking at us and talking, like they were trying to see if they could pass on a lousy meal to us. Second burger was only slightly warm, leading to the question where was the order for 45 minutes. No one cared to real say what happened or really ask how the meal was. We just passed over and over, we did get the standard how is everything from the waitress. Burgers are still good although quite a bit smaller than they used to be. Mozzarella sticks were great! Spouse got the shrimp pita and enjoyed it. Can no longer get 1/2 onion rings and 1/2 fries. Onion rings aren't nearly as good as before. Price is comparable to other bar and grills. If I had never been pre-pandemic, I would have enjoyed my recent trip more. Quality and quantity have taken a slight hit while the price has increased. Stinks when both of those happen. Still a good meal though if you live close by...just no longer a destination. read more

During my time at NC State, we would make the haul out to Cary and have a treat meal as "poor" college kids would. I am happy to see that this place is still here, and has expanded since my time at State (graduated in '04). It is a bit "off the beaten path" since the small shopping center is a little tucked away and probably was just a stand along gas station at some point. I bet the growing city of Cary and highway development (elsewhere) brought the gas station's demise, but luckily enough this restaurant found a home here. The burgers are why you come here. I love that they've kept the burgers pretty much how I remember them (ingredient-wise) and have expanded their menu. I think beer was a luxury item when I was in school so we always got soda or water... The craft scene has exploded in the last decade and they have plenty of local (NC) beers on tap. Last visit, I came by myself and my server was super nice. She had a ton of tables (inside AND outside) so there was a little bit of a slower pace for my meal, but I didn't mind it so much. She did thank me for being patient when she brought the bill out, so she was aware, but there's nothing you can really do since it looked like all the servers were running around everywhere. Tried the bacon cheese fries... and they didn't disappoint. Burgers are cooked (to how you want them). Mine was delicious. There is a large bar area and tvs surrounding (so probably a great place to watch sports). I don't really remember them having too many tables outside since during school, you could park under the awning. I think now they've utilized the shade for outside seating and cornhole boards. And they have a great beer selection, and the bartenders know how to mix a good drink. There is a pretty large outdoor area for those who like to sit in a parking lot. We have driven past this establishment for years and in the mood for a good burger. Promptly greeted upon arrival and seated 5 stars. Prices on the menu and website appear to be different and understand food prices have gone up for example the sides, coleslaw listed at $2.99 but $4.99, 3.5 stars yikes! Opted for the sliders without the bun cooked medium with side of homemade chips with ranch. The burgers were cooked perfectly and the homemade chips were good 5 stars. Another Yelper mentioned surcharge on credit card and appreciated that information. However, receiving the bill it was there versus at processing or the server asking. Fortunately I had cash even though the surcharge was minimal not sure why the establishment is adding it as line item especially since the disconnect of pricing between menus. Overall, the experience was good but could have been great. Two noteworthy events in the establishment are offensive to patrons. First, serving alcohol when patrons get rowdy cursing and confronting other tables, the time is imminent to STOP serving them alcohol, quickly diffuse situation even if asking one to leave, and call Uber for the intoxicated patron. Called in a takeout order to a woman who said her name was Julie. She informed me the Internet displayed menu available on Yelp is out of date. So I ordered the Sgt Pepper hamburger. Also ordered the chicken fingers with cold slaw. Julie said the free dessert mentioned on Yelp for checking in was not available. The new menus will be out in 2 weeks, Julie said. Get to Abbey Road in Cary early before 5:00 PM on a Friday because the parking lot is jam packed. Live entertainment and full bar; the place was jumping wall to wall standing room only and out the door in the outdoor tables. Checking out to pay for my meal, the credit processing was broken down on the computer point of sale terminal which had red duct tape covering the credit card reader / processor. So no Android or Apple Pay, cash or chip credit cards only. They have a little temporary credit card processor behind the bar which failed when the bartender attempted to read the stripe on my card a number of times, finally he realized he needed to plug in my gold chip card on the slot to make it work properly. Went to The Abby Road Tavern last night for dinner. The menu had many varied items available that all sounded delicious....it was hard to choose! We were a party of 3. I ordered a Lamb Gyro with Onion Rings. The Gyro had succulent chunks of meat that was so juicy and seasoned perfectly (not like the dry shaved lamb you get in many places). The tomatoes were fresh and ripe, and the Pita was warmed just right. I ordered a side of onion rings (which came with my order). They were large, crispy and HOT! Excellent Choice! My husband ordered the Sam I Am burger, and my son ordered a George burger. My husband got a side salad that was huge for a side salad...it was fresh and delicious, but he was charged .75 for extra salad dressing (one small cup was too small for the salad!). His burger was cooked medium-rare to his liking, and it was very juicy. My son's George burger was devoured in seconds because it was so tasty. His side of French Fries were cooked in "clean oil", crunchy on the outside, soft and hot on the inside, Jane was our waitress, and she was attentive, prompt and very professional. We had a few changes to the menu items when ordered, and when we got our meals, everything was correct. Jane was very sweet and had a great personality, and did everything a great waitress does to ensure a nice evening was had by all! Just a minor comment...the condiment container on the table was a bit sticky. A common problem when kiddos use them! It would be a big plus if at the end of the evening, the container and bottles could be wiped down. We will definitely be back to Abby Road after our most pleasant dinner experience. We dined in 2-3 years ago, and it was great. I had hot dogs. They were hot and yummy, smothered with chili and a sweet cole slaw on the side. Tonight was take out and one member wanted hot dogs from here, and I obliged remembering how good they were. The menu states "Two all beef Nathans hot dogs topped with chili and coleslaw." I noticed that under the options were 'chili & slaw' for an additional $.50 and assumed that was for extra chili and slaw since the menu, again, states "Two all beef Nathans hot dogs topped with chili and coleslaw." My order email said it would be ready at 7:30. I got there around 7:25 and my food was ready. There was neither chili nor slaw, everything was cold, homemade chips were cold and floppy, and the hot dog itself was small and shriveled while the bread was dry. OMG, this place is the bomb! You walk in and the atmosphere is great; photos of the Beatles everywhere, music memorabilia everywhere, even a beautiful guitar hanging on the wall. There's a bar area with about a million flat screens on with different channels and sound muted, high tops and table for drinking and eating. Then there's another section with tables. We always sit there. There's music on weekend nights so this area is cleared out for the music. Menu is extensive with quite a few options for burgers. And their burgers are A-MAZ-ING! Thick and juicy and full of flavor. Fries come regular or sweet, both are really good. I think the regular fries are the best I've had anywhere. This place is usually hopping but I've never had to wait for a table. Then again, I've never come when there was live music so you'll have to see that for yourself. I have to give Abbey one more star because the burgers here are really delicious. This is a former gas station and there is a very lively atmosphere. In the summer you can find cornhole games outside and also outdoor seating. Inside, you can sit at the bar or in one of the rooms lined with rock stars, tvs, and Beatles memorabilia. There is even a red English phone booth when you come in the entrance and all kinds of Beatles record covers on the walls. The bathrooms have even been updated and the sinks are very industrial. The bathrooms are even equipped with televisions so you won't miss any game. The burgers are all named after Beatles and you can get plain or burgers topped with bacon,cheese and the works. The fries were really fresh and hot and this is the perfect place if you are craving a burger. There is also a coupon in the City Pass book. read more

We are an infrequent diners there but we have had many good meals and service there but this will be our last. My family like the business has suffered a financial hardship due to the pandemic but when we have extra we try to grab a meal out. I love the food here. Burgers are great and the staff is nice. Unfortunately, I can't eat the delicious "Burning down the house" burger without feeling duped so I don't order there anymore. I don't dine in because I'd rather take it across the street to my apartment to eat while watching sports but there's too many additional charges...for a take out order. The bartender said the $1+ charge I inquired about was for the to go box. I'm not stingy, but I don't make that much money lol. I've tipped a few dollars every time I went there to pick it up but I felt it was a little disrespectful to charge me for something they would give dine-in customers for free.
