Husband and I were spending the night in Greer, arriving late in the evening and needing just a little something to top of our dinner. I looked up Abbott's and we decided to give it a try. First of all, adorable building in a cute downtown. Loved all the exposed brick. One young man working when we arrived who was friendly and attentive. It looked like there are normally three flavors and then a few flavors of the day. Boy was it my lucky day because one of the daily flavors was Salty Caramel. I ordered a double scoop of that in a cone and it blew me away -- so much flavor and incredibly creamy. Husband loved the chocolate almond with crunchy almonds in it. In Raleigh we have Goodberry's custard and their salted caramel is delicious, but Abbott's just may be better. So glad we gave this place a try. The only thing I would add is a water dispenser to wash down that yumminess. read more

This is a nice custard spot. It's in a very busy location and I don't consider it a kid friendly area. I couldn't find parking on the street so had to park a few lots over and cross several streets to get there with my two kids. The girl at the counter was friendly and helpful. I wish they had more options for custard. My girls really wanted strawberry and there wasn't an option for that. We got the pistachio pineapple and it was a refreshing flavor. They have indoor and outdoor seating which was nice. read more

There's zero customer service. Two people at the registers, a long line of customers just standing there unsure of what to do next. The kids behind the counter are just staring into space--not saying "next" or asking if they can help anyone. Everyone's in line, confused and waiting. We tried to get a water bottle after the fact , but one lady was taking orders while the other just stood there watching. It didn't seem like a training situation--definitely not on a busy Saturday night. It felt disorganized and poorly managed from start to finish. read more

I never write reviews but my last few experiences here have been terrible. Charged $8 for a "flurry" (equivalent to a DQ blizzard) that was maybe filled halfway. Server was somewhat rude too. I've been a regular for almost a year and I think this is my last purchase. Would've given 1 star but I have had great experiences in the past. We have consistently been greeted by some of the best and friendliest workers there. The inside has ample seating and is always clean. I am huge ice cream fan, but this place has converted me to a custard fanatic for sure! SO creamy and delicious with huge scoop portions for cone and cup options. I love their custard concept of daily flavors that fluctuate. I ordered a waffle cone with chocolate almond and butter pecan with rainbow sprinkles and savored every moment. My wife and kids enjoyed our visit. Growing up in Akron, OH, I've enjoyed frozen custard from Stricklands. Being a fan of the ice cream, I am happy to see it in the area. We enjoyed the waffle cones, which were crispy more than crunchy. The ice cream was creamy and fluffy/airy. Very cool custard shop in the historic downtown area of Greer. A perfect spot to stroll to after dining at one of the nearby restaurants. Plenty of seating inside with large windows to watch life go by as you enjoy the very good frozen custard. They had about ten custom flavors available the night we stopped by. My sisters and I weren't allowed in a pub because it was past the time that they allow minors in so we came here!! I loved the aesthetic and atmosphere of the whole shop :)) I had a chocolate flurry with cookie dough ($4.90) and my sisters had single chocolate scoops ($3.75). We later got a pint of vanilla ($5-ish) for our mom. Loved the creaminess of the custard and the vanilla had more flavor, but both were delicious!! I prefer frozen custard over ice cream hands down. I haven't been to Abbott's since 2016, so I made it a point to visit this summer. The evening we chose to go it was quite cloudy, but not rainy, which kept the larger crowds away and suited me just fine. The place was busy nonetheless, but at least my husband and I were able to sit at a table inside with the stroller next to us. I ordered lemon chiffon and I already forgot what the hubster got, but 99% of the time it'll be something chocolatey. So smooth, so silky; a delight to consume and I never feel guilty! We got a pint of key lime pie to take home and ate it all in one sitting (no regrets!). Maybe it is a good thing that we do not live too close to downtown Greer. My favorite frozen custard in the Upstate. This is the only place that doesn't just have vanilla, chocolate, and their flavor of the week. Like the other frozen custard places, they do have the vanilla, and you can mix in your own toppings. But I like that they have distinct flavors, though it may be limited, there is always at least 5 to 6 different flavors. I love their ice cream sandwiches that you can get to go. Absolutely amazing. If you're in the area you must try this custard. It is super creamy and delicious. I tried the red raspberry & chocolate almond both really good. I enjoyed it so much I bought their 3 pint special to take to my aunts. We got chocolate, vanilla & peach ginger. The vanilla is like an old fashion you expect to find in an ice cream shop. The chocolate was amazing and would satisfy any chocolate & ice cream craving. I was happy to discover this custard shop the other evening/night when it was almost 70 degrees mid-winter (I LOVE the South!). It definitely hit the spot! The girl behind the counter was super friendly and let me try the pineapple-pistachio custard, which I thought was fantastic and instantly purchased. The "small" cone is rather large (an "American" small, for sure), but no complaints here. Heaven. Clean. Tasty. Friendly. Why have I not come earlier? They take pride in the store and the kids are not snotty brats, they are very accommodating and take their time. The custard is amazing with packed pints and fresh custard that is rotated out. Peach is very light on the peach but the lemon is amazing. Banana split between two people is enough and well priced at 8.50 (tax added). The decor is crafty and well done with nice lighting. We will be visiting ALOT. read more
