We recently moved to Mesa and I found this bike shop just around the corner. We initially went to get new tubes for my sons bike, which is a few years old. They checked the tires and gave recommendations for a good tube and also changed the tubes out for me. While I was waiting for the change out, I got to talk with Christina, the owner. I was immediately impressed with her level of customer service, industry knowledge and willingness to spend time with us finding the right helmet, water bottle holder, wheel lights and other items we ended up purchasing. We rented a jet Ski and too it to the lake. Spent $60 plus on gas and 30 minutes to get to the lake and back, not counting loading and unloading time. The jet ski would not go over 8 miles an hour. We loaded it up and returned it. They would not refund the $60 in gas that we returned the Jet ski and gas can with. read more

BUYER BEWARE SCAM BUSINESS ALERT!!!! Please do not use this company for renting any bicycles or JetSki's, this is easily the worst experience I've had with any small business. They sent us out on old broken equipment and then threatened to charge us over $1000 when we returned. I had a bad feeling the second I stepped into the shop and I should've gone with my gut. Please do not make the same mistake as me and use any other JetSki rental company. I have used seven different companies at this point and this is the only time I have ever had a problem. You can tell that this company is on their way out and they need to charge penalties and fees in order to stay in business. They literally threaten to charge you $500 if you lose a simple padlock key that locks the storage box on the trailer. SCAM ALERT!!! This is the worst jet ski rental business in the valley. The company sent us out on very beat up, very old jet skis that barely started or worked throughout the day. When we returned, they tried to threaten us by saying they were going to charge $1000 for a scratch on the bottom of the ski. These jet skis have clearly been repaired multiple times and are absolute garbage. I just don't see how this company can survive into the future. They offer a pretty nice variety of bikes for sale as well as offer water sport rentals that come with everything you need to hook up and go. Process was simple and easy and they have a before and after opportunity that leaves no question about damage. Do not be a victim to this company as I was and the unfortunate others I have read on this company reviews!! the same thing there great when you pick them up then but when you return them they are complete opposite I rented skis and noticed at lake at all the bad repair jobs they had done on the skis they were in horrible shape they pulled really hard when you rode them the one would have a hard time starting so much we hardly drove them and when I went to return them they instantly point out a crack on a ski that had prior damage and repair work done on it so recent that there was still blue painters take on the ski from the repair and because the repair was poor it cracked and I was told it was cause we hit something even tho there is no marks from anything on this crack like if you hit something it will scratch there will be a buff mark or paint from what ever you hit mine was a clean crack on a repair on the ski and am now they want to charge me 300 for it I find it completely odd that in there contract it says they charge per inch on cracks on skis almost as they expect them to come back damaged and know the perfect way to charge by inch on damages how convenient they were extremely hostile and rude the older man started to get loud yelling at my husband I so wished I read these reviews read more

They work hard in the heat but still have a good time and some good laughs! We reserved a few weeks out and did need to make some changes leading up to rental day. I rented jet skis from ABC, and had an outstanding experience! We were complete novices, and Christina took her time to explain the use of the jet skis, and how to correctly (and safely) get the skis in and out of the lake. I am a physician, and safety is of prime importance to me, I can honestly say, I felt much better getting on the skis, well informed than just being tossed the keys. We had a blast, the jet skis they had were well maintained, clean, powerful and most of all fun! I have rented skis twice from ABC, both times easy and a delight. Everyone is so friendly, everything is thoroughly explained and I will keep renting from them. It takes about an hour to get through the process but we aren't renting bicycles, these items have hefty price tags and they want to make sure responsible people take car of their property! Just returned some jet skis from these guys and it was a blast! The owners are great. You can tell they generally care and want everyone to enjoy their rentals. With renting expensive machines like this, there are inherent risks. Treat the property with respect and follow the rules and you will have a GREAT TIME! Do NOT bring your bikes here. We paid for the higher end tune up-but not the overhaul-and it looks like they just ran a hose over my bike. The gears still don't shift properly, the brakes still rub, and now I have a new squeak. The gear shifters weren't put back on evenly either. Sloppy workmanship. They don't answer their phones and they also didn't have the bike done in the time promised. We witnessed the staff acting rudely to each other at drop off. Customer service is clearly a joke. I wouldn't buy a bike here either after this experience. No wonder Global Bikes has a ten day wait on a bike tune- it's because they actually fix the bike. read more

Rented two jet skis for the day. They looked like older jet skis. One wouldn't start when we initially got to the lake. While at the lake, I noticed that there were areas around the front bumper that had been repainted, poorly, on one of the jet skis. After several hours, water was starting to get underneath the poor quality paint repair. At the end of the day, when he returned them, my husband said that some of the paint from the previous repair had flaked off. This was not due to anything we did. It was due to the poor quality of the previous repair. I wish I had thought to take a photo of the paint starting to change colors as soon as it touched the water... When my husband returned the jet skis; the manager claimed there was $600 worth of damage; but she would "accept" $300 for the damages. There was NO DAMAGE. The manager said the paint flaking off from the previous repair was our fault, and that there was a scuff mark on the side of one of the jet skis. Not sure if the scuff mark was there or not-- the woman claimed it was a crack in the fiberglass. There is no way we cracked the fiberglass on a jet ski. Those jet skis never touched anything except the water. If there was damage, it was pre-existing, and poorly repaired. The company has you at their mercy because they have your credit card info, and they claim they are giving you a "deal" by not charging you more for damage that you didn't cause. My husband said he was too tired and didn't want to stay and fight with her over the charges. We obviously will NOT be using this service again. read more

This place is great! Incredibly helpful staff and fantastic customer service. Posting my review a little late, but we made a reservation for a couple jet skis back in August. There was a mixup and no jet skis were reserved for us, so Christina went out of her way to make additional arrangements to ensure another set was available. They made for an amazing weekend at Canyon Lake. When we got back and realized we'd broken a mirror on the drive home (all those hairpin turns on Rt 88 got us), they were incredibly understanding and even discounted what we owed them for it because we pointed it out when they didn't notice it. I reserved 2 wave runners over 1 week ahead of time, for a Friday 07:00 - 17:00, at the website published rate of $125/day. I gave the employee credit card info to hold the reservation. I called the shop evening before pick up to confirm details. I was told that it would now be $150/day as Friday is a weekend, "according to their contract". I was adamant about the fact that this was not published on the website, and no contract was provided to me via telephone. They agreed to "let it slide' and charge me the weekday rate for Friday (which is in fact a weekday... unethical business). Upon arrival we were greeted by an overly friendly Christine who reminded us that we were getting a weekday rate (even though it was Friday). She was extremely detailed in her explanation of the rules and conditions on paper. We proceeded to go physically inspect the boats and trailer already attached to my truck. Christie was extremely thorough in her spiel...almost as if it were scripted. I shadowed her, taking pictures for photographic documentation should the need arise. We covered the top end of the boats and the trailer and the inspection ended there. Upon return Christine immediately noted a "boo-boo" as stated, on the front hull of one of the boats. I felt HORRIBLE as if I were a slacker and did not pay attention to detail. She then immediately went to the rear second boat, pulled out a car creeper ,and went under to disclose 13" of "damage", supposedly done while I had the rentals, equaling $1300, but she'd settle for my $600 deposit. Knowing where and how these boats were treated, I felt that this was extremely unlikely and almost near impossible. I asked why we did not cover the bottom of the boat upon release; she went inside to avoid my question, while bringing her "fiberglass man" out to verify damage. While they assessed, I reviewed my photos to reveal the front end of damage to be present at the time of release, which they then said "we won't charge you for it". I reminded them they had just wrongfully assigned blame, which I had invalidated through EVIDENCE. (now causing further skepticism about unethical business) I again asked why I was not taken through the bottom of the boat by the so called experts upon release, and followed Christine in to the store trying to get an answer. I asked if she took photos of the bottom, but now her phone was conveniently "locked up" and she could not access. At this time the fiberglass man started swearing stating that a contract was signed and no evidence was needed, I argued the fact that they already had 2 strikes against them. We all went back outside when Christine begin crying (enter drama) this set the fiberglass man off who then started swearing and trying to intimidate myself and my cohorts, accusing us of "attackted" her. We remained cool and said we all think this is a ploy and will check YELP and GOOGLE reviews. BINGO! The same exact story from multiple customers was present in the reviews. They responded by saying that it was their competitors slandering them. I explained in pragmatic logical terms that I had no intention of absolving myself of true responsibility, however there was ZERO evidence to support the fact that I caused the damage. They had avoided that area upon inspection, and did not have photos. The fiberglass man said "let the be a lesson to ya". They threatened to call the Sherriff in a last ditch intimidation tactic. Not backing down, I explained my position and requested evidence again stating that I will follow up with appropriate recourse, to which they said "now your threatening us?" I stated that I will follow up with proper legal protocol. They claimed that they would tear up my contract, not touch my deposit and not rent to me again. I filed a claim with my credit card company, made an incident report with Mesa PD & filed a scam alert claim with the BBB. True con artists, down to the crocodile tears and loud mouthed body man. Stay away from this shop. They prices are a lure to drama. read more

SCAM ALERT!!! This was HORRIBLE service!!!! We rented 2 jet ski's. We were very careful with them, we did not abuse them, and then we bring them back. They then claimed we had $1,300 worth of damages because apparently there were scratches on the bottom. They low ball you and then when you come back they claim their are damages and they don't even throughly inspect it while you are there. Their equipment was cheap and old. They appear nice upfront but when you return it they start scamming you! A lot of F-bombs came out of the older gentlemen's mouth as well. This was the worst service I ever received. Terrible customer service. The owner took over an hour and a half to go over the rules to rent a jet ski for 3 days. We took great care of it and when we went back to return it the taillight was missing and we got blamed for it. No damage done just a faulty cheap taillight which could have been gone the whole time and we got charged $75 for it. They're very unprofessional and way too expensive. I do not recommend this company to anyone unless you enjoy being lectured and treated like second rate citizens. TERRIBLE. read more

We picked two jet skis from this place and was very happy with the process, she definitely went through all the contract word for word and letting us know to take care of their skis as if it were our own. just make sure to arrive early takes almost about an hour to get the skis released and your way. for sure great people loved how they threated us. it was a group of 12 people and they had the time and patience to let everyone know the rules and what to expect from us, will definitely be back again to rent from you, thank you so much read more

We had a wonderful experience! Four of us rented two jet skis to explore Canyon Lake, we had an amazing time! Renting jet skis is like renting a car, you need to inspect them (and trailer) for damage and we did just that, together. ABC and I noted damage (big or small), they documented and I took pictures. When we were both satisfied they started each machine, both immediately started up! They helped us load up and we were off! They provided gas cans, life jackets, and contact information if anything was to happen. Unloading and loading was a breeze. Both machines were very reliable. Since we were first time renters it did take about an hour to go over everything, next time we will pick up the night before or earlier in the morning just in case ;). They did perform a thorough inspection (including the bottom) when we returned them, which it to be expected. Take care of their jet skis and they will take care of you! We will be back! Fourth year renting Jet Skiis from ABC Bicycle and Jet Skiis. The staff are great and we will continue to go back year after year. This is the first year that we actually had to use the extra gas cans that were provided and I am glad that we filled them up before we left. After reading several positive reviews online we decided to give ABC Bicycles and Jet Skis a shot and rented two jet skis (06/08/19). Once we arrived at the lake one of the jet skis wouldn't even start as soon we got to the lake. After using the second jet ski for 20 minutes it cut off in the middle of the lake and stopped working. Both jet skis ended up needing new batteries and our day at the lake was completely ruined. The worst part about this nightmare was the owner Christina and Byron. The owners acted EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL and tried to claim that it was our fault that the jet skis didn't work and wouldn't be refunded our money. Don't waste your time, energy, or effort with this place! They have old and worn out water machines and obviously don't check or maintain their machines properly. They claim they've been in the business "for 34 years" but I truly have no idea how when it was the most unpleasant customer service experience I've ever had! Do yourself a favor and use any company but ABC Bicycles and Jet Skis they are a complete joke and take the fun out of renting jet skis! read more

We took a chance and called 2 hours before they opened. Not only did someone answer the phone, but they were willing to let us pick up jet skis before they opened. The jet skis were on the trailer and ready to go when we arrived. There was a thorough explanation of rules and expectations in addition to how to use the jet skis, water safety and they helped us hook up the trailer. The only suggestion I have is to provide newer trailers. The one we got was a bit older and not very easy to use. read more

First time customer. Very bad experience. Read my story; judge for yourself... Jet ski pickup: (a) rented a jet ski, and at pickup time recieved great customer service. Everything was explained in detail. I completed inspection of jet ski before rental and approved it was undamaged before pickup. (b) The cashier asked a few unprofessional personal questions. I thought they were being too friendly intially, but realized I was being screened to make sure they would actually do business with me. would prefer they were upfront that they were asking the questions for those purposes. (c) jet ski had empty gas tank at pickup. (d) they record your personal vehicle insurance info, and advise they will make your insurance pay if the trailer or ski is damaged on the road. Jet ski return: (a) We return the jet ski undamaged, however they suddenly adopt a different attitude on inspection vs during pickup. they crawl under the trailer to look at every piece of the UNDERSIDE of the jet ski for any damage. They also look UNDERNEATH plastic trim for fiberglass damage. (b) So, at pickup inspection - did I crawl under the jetski and take a screwdriver to examine fiberglass under the plastic trim for damage? No. (c) They located damage that I had not caused. After I explained it would be unreasonable for me to have located the small 1.5 inch damage at pickup, they advise I will maybe be charged for 400-500 up to 8000. (d) I am left unattended in the lobby for 10 minutes, them they return to advise I will not be charged for the damage. (e) I ask for written document to confirm we are.released from liability, and they refuse. I ask again politely, and they refuse to provide anything other than verbal agreement I will not be charged for damages My experience was stressful and I was left feeling like a falsely accused criminal. The situation was handled with ver poor communication. I would not recommend doing business here. I suspect they have low prices and expect to CON you for false damages at pickup inspection. read more
