    ABC Special Pizza

Great Greek style pizza. The ABC special is the one to get--used to get it over 10 years ago now and it still tastes just as good. The owners are super nice. Would recommend!

Good family-run Greek style pizza restaurant. Their pizza crust is tasty and their pizzas not greasy. Our kids like it a lot!

(She took laps up and down and outside holding my friends' hands... learned how to take her steps without assistance the very next day. If that isn't testimonial enough, Bruno's will always hold a special place in my heart. Also my friends get upset if they find out I went to Bruno's without them ("YOU WENT TO BRUNO's WITHOUT ME?!") Which of course I would not ever do. I always recommend people check out this spot and they always come back grateful and excited to return.

Although a scenic drive to Bruno's, it is completely out of the way for me, but I wanted to try them. This cafe is small, and very busy. They have some seating options, but all the seats were taken. They did have some tables and chairs outside, and it was a pleasant day to sit outside. Their milk is sourced from Arethusa Farms, one of the best, if not THE BEST local dairy resources. Their menu is large with coffee, tea, refreshers, including pastries, breakfast and lunch options. On this trip we got coffees. I got Nova's Nutella Latte, the others got a mocha and Kiwi, Mint & Lemongrass refresher. These were all very pricey, I was a bit taken aback. Each drink was between $9.00 and $10.00. Maybe it's because of the locally sourced milk, I can't think of another reason. My Nutella Latte was very chocholatey and very tasty, but my cup was also filled with ice all the way to the top. The refresher was very sweet, but a unique combo of flavors and pretty refreshing. The mocha was solid. Overall, maybe I got the wrong things at Bruno's, but I can't say I was super impressed, especially at such a high cost.

Welllll I finally stopped last week on the way home from picking my son up at basketball camp. It's such a cute spot. They have seating inside and outside. The parking is a little hectic because there aren't many spots available right in front. You can park down to the left and walk. The inside is a bit crowded with seating to the left and right. The girl working at the counter was so sweet and had lots of great energy. Their menu is amazing with lots of choices and some great specials. I had a passion fruit lemonade and it was so good I got another one for the way home. I got a buffalo chicken salad and it was a good size salad! My son got a burger and fries and loved it. The fries were crinkle cut but bigger and seasoned perfectly. I haven't had fries like that before. I look forward to going back and trying more on their menu!

That's because when you pull into the shopping plaza.....you don't see it. But if you circle around to the right, you'll see it on the side of the strip mall's buildings. And trust me, this spot is definitely worth hunting down to experience a standout breakfast or lunch. We walked in a little before 1:00 yesterday and found a table for two in the back left corner of the dining room, so we had a good view of the entire room. I have to tell ya, the place was packed! Breakaway closes at 3:00 every day except Sunday (2:00), and there were breakfast and lunch menus out, plus a few daily specials. My wife went with a "William's Ham Panini" ($17) with thin sliced ham, bacon, caramelized onions, cheddar and honey mustard on a grilled panini. We both were struck at how much ham was piled onto her sandwich. She had a few choices for a side dish and put her nickel down on potato salad. I went with The JT Salad ($16). The menu says it's been their "best-selling salad 25 years and counting". It was a big portion of mixed greens served with house balsamic dressing, grape tomatoes, gorgonzola cheese, and grilled chunks of teriyaki glazed chicken breast. It was stellar, with plenty of that yummy cheese and chicken. The only sour note with our lunch was a rather steep $4.25 for a glass of iced tea that was half-filled with ice. The food was very good and a decent amount of leftovers came home with us for another day. I was unexpectedly impressed by how crowded Bistro was on a random Monday. I bet you'll be too.

It was cooked to crispy perfection with just the right amount of spice from the pickles. It came with a half sour pickle that was quite delicious. Good Friends, Great Food, and Historic Charm!…read more The Village at Buckingham Ladies Lunch Bunch met on July 3 for our favorite monthly first-Friday tradition! We gathered at the wonderful Lisa's Crown & Hammer in Collinsville, a charming riverfront village just a few miles from our neighborhood. What a treat to meet our delightful new neighbor from Cavendish- Kendra Z! This popular restaurant and pub operates out of the historic 1850s railroad freight station of the Collins Axe Company. It sits beautifully amidst repurposed brick factory buildings that now house quaint antique shops, art galleries, and boutiques. Inside, you step back in time with a cozy, industrial-chic setting complete with exposed brick walls, timber wood beams, and a fireplace patio for the cooler months. It is the perfect place to begin or end a walk along the scenic Farmington River, utilizing the Rails-to-Trails path. ‍‍ The food from their scratch kitchen never disappoints! They focus on elevated, comfort pub grub using plenty of fresh, locally sourced ingredients. A huge shoutout to our wonderful waitress (pictured!) who gave us truly excellent service! Our Top Crown & Hammer Recommendations: * The Towering Truffle Burger or Lisa's Amazing Crown Sliders * The Vermonter - Packed with turkey, cheddar, apple slices, and bacon * Perfectly cooked Fish Tacos or a classic Reuben Sandwich * Mediterranean Salmon Salad with lemon dressing (a personal favorite!) * Crispy Cauliflower, Fried Green Tomatoes, and Truffle Parm Fries * A refreshing glass of Citizen Cider to wash it all down! Our lunch bunch is already counting down the days until we return in October to try Lisa's new fall menu in the cozy fireplace room! If you love a quintessential New England village that is walkable, historic, and brimming with charm, you have to check out this spot!

Lisa's Crown and Hammer is a little bit confusing…read more Is this a pub that serves high end food, or is this a bougie restaurant trying to be a pretty good pub? Confusion lie, as we walked in the main entrance, and there was no person to see us. Do we just go in and sit down? Do we walk into the pub and sit there? After a minute or two wait, a server came and sat us in the fireplace room. Menus were waiting for us along with the daily specials on this Sunday. The dinner specials were few and far between, and we passed on them I ordered a Lisa's Crown and Hammer chicken sandwich, which came with french fries fries according to the menu, and my dear friend, ordered the Reuben, with french fries We passed on drinks as water was supplied, and neither of us felt like drinking. The food arrived in decent time. My friend only ate half of a Reuben, and some of the french fries. She said th sandwich was OK. My Lisa's crown and hammer sandwich was pretty decent, and I felt the french fries were well seasoned but soggy. I ate half the sandwich and took most of the french fries home. I'm kind of disappointed, as after spending time at the Christmas tree show and raffle at the Collinsville Historic Society, lunch would be so appropriate to end the lovely visit in Collinsville at Crown and Hammer I guess it's travel at your own risk here. Hit or miss. Service was OK, but it seemed like the server disappeared for long periods of time and the place really wasn't busy. I also noticed there were two or three servers taking care of guest in the small place The pub was hopping, I'm not sure if it was locals or visitors to Collinsville, but it looks like everyone was having a good time in there. Prices were on point, as I think the Bill was around $40 with tip. The menu does have sandwiches and sides along with the high-end dishes. Personally, I would lose the high-end dishes. I will come back again, maybe not soon. Collinsville is an awesome place to visit. So quaint, so inviting, so much to do. It's just too bad that Crown and Hammer missed the mark
