Takeout review: I've ordered takeout here numerous of times since moving here. It's always my go to when we decide to do takeout. The food and service has been spot on. Everytime I call in and pick up the food, it's been prompt and a good experience. I've tried a few food items from here and they have been all my favorites: Angry Queen Bee Sandwich: tempura fried crispy chicken breast, brie, bacon, Sriracha honey, lettuce, tomato, red onion, on potato bread. This is definitely my favorite sandwich from here so far. The sweet and spicy flavor is my thing. Crispy Buffalo Mac n Cheese: Chicken poppers, buffalo sauce, and ranch. OMG, drool worthy; the crispy chicken and gooey Mac n cheese, and spicy buffalo sauce is a great combo. Double Porky Pig Mac n Cheese: Bacon bits, 24-hr slow cooked BBQ pulled pork. The sweet BBQ and cheesy Mac were also a delicious combo. The food has been great. I can't wait to dine in soon!

This place is very decent! Have been wanting to try it, didn't realize they had moved from old location a number of years ago, so it was one of those situations like "it's up here on the left somewhere, I remember--wait, no, here it is, on the right!". The place has outdoor seating but it was pretty hot so no one was sitting outside. We made our way to a cute little room with 50's music playing and vintage metal signs on the walls--my husband loves that! Really sets a mood. The food is really good, the menu ambitious, the service fine, and the portions are huge. I ordered what is probably the best order of crispy Brussels sprouts I've ever had--somehow not greasy, tender on the inside with the little leaves on the outside a crispy perfection. Comes with an aoili dipping sauce which goes well. Also ordered the poutine, cause I love it, and it's reeeeaaally hard to find good poutine south of, like, Maine or northern VT. 5 stars!--even if the cheese is not exactly what they use in Canada (farmer's cheese?) the dish acquitted itself well. Both of the aforementioned dishes also work well as leftovers the following day, be advised the portions, even on the sides, are quite large. I also sampled the lobster roll special, which was okay. Served on a hamburger bun which is kind of unusual, and with lettuce, which I declined. TBH we're pretty spoiled by getting lobster rolls on the shore at the Lobster Pound or Lobster landing--hard to top those. Roger ordered the meatloaf, a monstrous-sized portion and not overly tomato-y or ketchup-y, which is often the reason I pass on meatloaf. Super good and well, meaty. The accompanying broccoli was cooked to perfection, The fries are hand-cut and I believe maybe fresh not frozen, which is a huge plus, and a particular sticking point with Roger. I had the blood orange margarita, refreshing with not a ton of alcohol; I don't need to be getting wasted over diner food. We were both way too full for dessert, but enjoyed our leftovers the next day. I intend to try grandma's chicken and dumplings next time, which will be a tough test since everyone knows southerners make the best dumplings. We shall see. Film at 11:00.

    Kielbasa bites

Deceptive front, good basic food with large portions but high prices. Was in the area for a new pasta place and this was a quick lunch spot to try. Figured we would get a hot dog and some fries and be on our way. Front of the restaurant looks like a older style large home with a big patio. The sign was the only indicator that we were in the right place. We get in and there's two signs pointing us to go either direction for service. There was a man at the bar who set us on the left path, past the bar into this little car hop diner styled room. The decor from the outside didn't match the inside, but it was this cute homage to old diners. The menu is exhaustive, with tons of food options. We opted for the soup flight with grilled cheese dippers, the kelbasa bites, and the Mexican egg roll appetizer. We also got a side of their mad dog 357 hot sauce. The servers were very much warning us of the heat level the entire time, but opted to put it on the side with an emergency milk possible to order. The food came out pretty quick, and the portions were reasonable. The crocks were half-full with their soup samplings, the jelbasa was in a small skillet but nice and crispy. The egg rolls were big. If that was an appetizer size then it was a meal in of itself. That's one thing this place does well. The portions are Gigantic. Other tables got sandwiches and omelettes and everything was very ample in the portion size. The food itself was good, but not particularly tasty. The soups were okay, the chili really needed the hot sauce to give it some zip. The hot sauce was flavorful but extremely hot if eaten on its own. The warnings were valid, it's very hot. But it did have a tangy sweet vinegar note that made it good to eat. The egg rolls had good seasoned beef in them, but the queso drizzled on top made them soggy. Needed to have the queso on the side for dipping. Price is high. Every plate was 13-15 dollars and they charged 5 dollars for two sauces. So it's high but you don't leave hungry It's not bad if you're hungry and want good basic food. It's a little pricy and they like to charge for extras, but it's not bad.

Fish platter w/ sweet potato fries, at Dish n' Dat in Canton, CT.

Been to Dish n' Dat twice now -- once for breakfast, once for a late lunch. Food is solid, everything we have eaten there has been decent. The one item that really stood out was the pulled pork sandwich, the meat was tender & tasty, I was a bit surprised how good it was since Dish n' Dat is not a "BBQ Joint". Milkshake my wife got on the last trip really hit the spot also. Service has been stellar the two times we've been there. Since we don't live far away, we plan to add Dish n' Dat to our regular rotation of places we will frequent when we are looking to get some comfort food.

We came back during a heat wave, with that being said I went for the classic American Hotdog single and sweet potato fries with a Shake which I believe was called garbage something, apologies for not remembering. But it was chocolate with Oreos and gummie worms. For $9 I believe was a little high for a small Hotdog, which I was believing would of been a foot long. The sweet potato fries were decent and the shake wasn't spectacular, I was hoping for a glass instead of a metal cup they mix it in. Just wasn't what I expected from a cute 50's diner it just screamed out lazy to me. The Waitress was such a sweet heart though, nice and friendly.

    Cake Batter Shake to go

My bff of 41 years was visiting from NJ so we decided on Dish n' Dat for lunch. We had crispy Brussels sprouts as an appetizer - heavenly. So good and plenty for both of us. For an entree my friend had their version of chicken nuggets and I had a tempura chicken sandwich. We also shared sweet fries. All very good and large portions. But then we decided to each order a cake batter shake to go. We were each delivered a pint sized to go cup and straws. Bigger than a Ben & Jerry's from the grocery store. We thought they were giving us each a pint of ice cream but these were the shakes! They were ginormous and we definitely had a good laugh. It took hours and I still couldn't finish mine! Oh I also ordered fluff and strawberry French toast to go home with me. That was just mouthwatering (a day later when I finally had my appetite back because we were stuffed!). Loved the staff, the atmosphere, the food, the shakes the size of a child's head. Would definitely return and recommend!

We've been to Dish n' Dat many times over the years, going back to their prior location in the Canton Shops. It's a good place with solid menu, but a bit overpriced. In general, paying $15-20 for breakfast entrees is a bit much, particularly when it's no better than places that charge half that. I'm happy to report the service was terrific and the interior decor is cool.

This place was great! A big shoutout to our server Jordan who was super friendly, attentive and overall just very relaxed and easy going. His energy made the whole experience even better. The food was great too, the menu is huge which is nice when you're not sure what you're in the mood for. They have some fun/funky options and the options that are more common at other restaurants they've taken up a notch. The restaurant itself was very cool, the bar has a bunch of license plates and signs, while the dining area has retro diner signs which were really cool to look at. We will definitely be coming back, not only for the delicious food but also the great service.

Dish 'n Dat Bright and clean, looking freshly remodeled. Comfortable booths and seating. Ambiance is welcoming and nostalgic with a steady stream of 50's and 60's hits playing in the back ground. The Owner is on site serving the patrons. American fare and breakfast served all day! We enjoyed the eggs over easy, bacon, home fries and the thickest slices of toast I have ever been served. Service was fast and polite and the food delicious

I could only get down barely half the glass of cab and when I called her over to send it back, she never asked if it was ok etc. or why I did t finish it. And I did ask her how the cab was before I ordered it and she said great! Clearly never tried wine before. I also saw that I was charged for the bad wine. No biggie, but in a better place they would have tried to make it right. I tried a Hendrick's and tonic next, and the tonic water was definitely flat. I tried to ask nicely if the tonic water was flat and she never even tried it, just saying oh no, it's fine. Very disappointed with that service and the drinks were terrible. As for the food, they might not have any spices in the kitchen as the meatballs could have had some seasoning added so they didn't taste so bland! Pizza was eh at best. Someone should teach them about salt and how a little bit brings out the real flavors! We won't go back...the wait staff seemed more interested in talking to each other than they did the customers. And the side of the bar nearest the door was cold as they kept one set of doors open, so always a cold blast coming in. No wonder so many restaurants are failing these days.

Don't let the outside of this place fool you because looks are definitely deceiving. We were cautious coming to this place due to the appearance of the outside, but once we were in it was so much fun. Agus, aka rawbartender, was Ah-mazing and truly made the night fun. He was truly such a vibe!! I ordered the SpongeBob, which was Goslings rum, pineapple spice, ginger, lime, angostura bitters. Especially with the show that was put on, my drink tasted even better. It was a Smokey, yet smooth and refreshing drink! We also got the Snow White, on the sweeter side made with Pear vodka, orgeat, pear juice, lemon juice, cinnamon. And of course, we can't forget our schooling in tequila and Mezcal from Agus. He was very informative of what he was serving and we tried a few different shots.
