The 3rd quoted was from Tom of Oak Design and it was $35,000 and I was responsible for purchasing all materials (in addition to the $35,000). Wow, you can imagine I was at a loss. When I exchanged emails asking for clarification, Tom explained "We are a larger firm with a larger overhead." We've remodeled several homes in Chicago, Fort Meyers and The Woodlands, TX and we used licensed, Bonded, Insured larger firms and we've never had such a discrepancy in bids. Granite this is a smaller job, but if they didn't want the job, why waste our time and theirs. I should mention the company did a large job for my wife's sorority sister so we assumed a fair quote. Beware...obtain 3 bids!!!!

This review is for my experience with the Viva Tile line, which we used for the floor of another room. We picked a nice pattern from their selection but the sheets arrived with a lot of tiles misaligned. Basically every sheet had some wonky tiles, whereas this style is meant to feature clean, geometric lines. It took a long time to get a hold of them to discuss and we'd already started installing the tile by then because we were in a time crunch and not sure whether the problem was fixable. When we finally connect with the manager he admits they made the sheets incorrectly but that there was nothing they could do because they had already been installed--a really poor manner of addressing their own manufacturing defects.

The tile for 1 bathroom arrived on time, the tile for 3 arrived 6-8 weeks late ("because of the holidays"). However I am still waiting on tile for the last bathroom and it has been 5.5 months since I ordered it. I have emailed multiple people at the company, called, left voicemails and no one will tell me when my tile will be ready. The reason for me writing this review is that I am hoping someone at the company will see it and reach out to me since I have not had any luck getting anyone to message or call me back. It is a shame because the tile that we have received is beautiful, but give the insane delays and lack of communication I would not recommend.

The Good: There were responsive in providing an estimate to take my money. The Bad: Basically everything else. The work was obviously sub-par given that grout is failing after only 9 months. The project started 2 weeks after estimated start date and finished 8 weeks after the estimated finish date. In fairness to the contractor, the building engineer caused 3 weeks of the finish time delay. At the final inspection we created a checklist of 6-8 items that needed correction (damaged paint, poor drywall work, damaged glass on the shower door, etc.). The next final inspection corrected 5 of the items and caused 2 new items worth of damage. Rinse and Repeat at least 2 more times.

Hired them for a remodeling job. I was unhappy with the end result. I would never recommend them.read more
