First time they came out was most disappointing experience I've had with a company. Two days later after getting things drilled out, we had water up to the floor cap. Called them and a few later a guy came out. He snaked the sewer line, did the toilets and showed me how clean the pipes are. Said sometimes other guys are as detailed. We just had a great experience with ABC SEWER. We had a back up in our kitchen sink. I took the trap down and cleaned it out hoping that was the problem. However, after putting the trap back it was definitely a downline blockage. Did a quick search on Google/Yelp and found ABC Sewer. We called after 5 PM and so we were told right away it would be an extra fee (at time and a half). We agreed and got a call back within a half hour. Another 25 minutes and Brian showed up at the house and did a great job clearing the line and then took his time and made an extra effort to do a water seal check on the trap and clean out. At time and a half the cost was $271. In today's world, that is a fair and reasonable price for after hours waste line clean out. I definitely recommend ABC SEWER. read more

They are local, inexpensive, quick and do a great job. I have used ABC for the past few years in lieu of bigger name companies that charge more and do not have the same response time. Clearing out the main drain when living in my neighborhood is a "must" every couple of years because of tree branches, etc that will gunk up the works. Unlike other companies they only charge $105 per drain which is quite reasonable when you compare the cost to having your drain backup into your basement. I had them do my house and the rental next door. A few days later the utility sink was clogged and after trying my best plumber imitation I called them again (note I didn't drop my pants lower). For $80 and within an hour of my call (they were in the area) they had the sink working perfectly again. They were courteous and very respectful. After reading great reviews on ABC Sewer, I now...from personal experience...understand why they have the positive reviews! They responded to my request in less than 20 minutes to call the number to schedule, which I did. They said I would get a call back within 30 minutes to get on their schedule, but if I didn't hear back within that time to call them again. I didn't have to, because I received a call from Brian E. who said he could come within 20 minutes. He arrived in that timeframe and went to inspect the situation. Explained what he was going to do and brought in more equipment. Brian E. worked his magic and cleared out the roots to open sewer through main. Our basement drain began backing up a Saturday afternoon. The problem was clearly the sewer line between our house and the street. Around 2 PM we called ABC Sewer & Draining and about 15 minutes later a technician, I believe his name is Jeff, returned our call. Jeff explained that there were many stops before ours, but that he would likely be at our home by 8 PM. At about 9 PM, I called Jeff and he said that he was on his way to our East Side location. Jeff knew what to do and after about 30 minutes of hard work he had cleared the line. By the time he brought his gear to his truck it was about 9:45 PM on a Saturday night! Fortunately, Jeff lived nearby. Jeff was completely professional and friendly. The charge was 1.5 x the weekday rate ($189) plus tax which came to $289. The charge included a 30-day warranty. Just 11 months earlier, we had our line cleaned. There are chemical cleaners, but the best of these, copper sulfate, is not environmentally friendly. So, we will be having our line mechanically cleaned every nine months prophylactically. read more

Tech determined the sewer needed snaking from the house to the street after that he cleaned up the laundry sink, then checked the kitchen sink (all cleared up with the laundry sink) so he didn't have to snake = no charge. There is an under the cement driveway, drain, that the gutters go into which backed up with the rain water all the way to the elbows. When it rained the elbows of the gutter would spill out the water like a faucet. I called the person who put in the gutters and he suggested calling ABC sewer. I did just that. The man who works for ABC, Dikota, spent time trying to find out where the drain came out from under the large parking area. I brought out a shovel, a trowel to try and find out where it came out ...Dikota dug with his hands and found part of the pipe away from the driveway. After snaking the drain it runs better than it did and does not back up the pipe like before. I still have to dig around the edge of the driveway to find out where it empties out to, that'll take some time and effort. Point is he went above and beyond the usual to clear the drain. Our house was built in 1920 and one of the toilet drains had clogged somewhere under the basement floor on the way out to the street. There was no clean out for that stack, so my son and I cut out a 12" section of the 4" stack next to the basement toilet so that an auger could be run through. I initially called ABC Sewer because I had water in my basement during very heavy rains due to a backup from the floor drain. They were able to come out the next day and the service technician was very nice and we believed that the problem was remedied. Going forward two and a half weeks later on a bright sunny day I entered my basement about 4pm and there was sewage all over the floor. I called ABC and was told they would not be out till 9 am the next day. We then rented a snake and did it ourselves as we discovered a lot of debris in the drain. We snaked 100 ft three times with three different heads on the snake. When I called the next morning requesting a refund I was told they would refund me the whole amount and to never call them again for service. Upon receiving the check for the refund I also received a letter from the owner of the company stating that they were charging me a 60.00 service fee and a 5.00 fuel charge which I was never informed about. I then called him to ask him about these charges and he responded that the woman must have been confused and that he will not refund those amounts. I then told him I don't know how it is possible they did their jobs if in such a short period of time we had pulled so much out of the drain. He then proceeded to ask me how long I had owned a sewer and drain cleaning company. The lack of customer service with this company is unbelievable. They will have their wish, I will never call this company for service again. read more
