I have used this company for service several times. I have pretty low expectations of a document shredding service other than take my boxes and dispose of the contents without creating some unnecessary hassle. Nonetheless, I intentionally go out of my way to have the serviced performed here because the people are so nice that it makes the chore more tolerable. One of the women in the office is so sweet that she even gave my child a puzzle once, which turned getting drug along on a really boring chore into an exciting adventure. I can't believe I've been putting this off for so long. The entire process was painless and took about 10 minutes, ...and only that because I asked to watch my stuff being shredded. The facility is impressive and well-laid-out. One side handles semi-trucks and the other side handles anything smaller - right down to and including me driving up in my Jeep with a few banker's boxes. PD Shred runs a tight ship. I was really impressed by their secure business processes. I had to sign in at the front office and get a badge. Then, they had me sign in again to enter and exit the warehouse where I went to observe the shredding. I was with someone the entire time and not once could I have gained access to anyone else's information (either pre or post shredding). Their procedures were clearly scaleable and designed to be effective during both slow and busy times. It happened to be really slow when I was there but, they didn't cut a single corner when it came to security. Also, a nice reminder that PD Shred is a locally-owned business was that Harry, the company's founder, personally came out to help me. Finally, the cost was more than reasonable. They charge $8 to shred as much paper as you can stuff into a bankers box (it's even okay to have books, notebooks, heavy plastic, and other stuff that would never go through an office-shredder - just leave out anything metal). It is a nice departure from some of the pack-and-ship/mailbox stores' pay-by-the-pound pricing. Conclusion: Best shredding service I've found, this side of the 17 (I haven't looked on the West side). Highly secure, fast & friendly service with surprisingly low prices. Highly recommended, even if you have a bit of a drive. read more

Five star -easily the best shredding service in the valley! But be careful, because PD Shred is located in a Tempe business park are loaded with other shredding companies that don't quite make the "cut." Look for PD shred. This was my 3rd visit here over a period of years. Always friendly with a nice big loading dock out back to load one's banker boxes. Today I had 9 boxes filled to turn in and couldn't wait to send these files to heaven. As always I was met with a smile and was in and out in less than 10 minutes. PD apparently stands for "Police Department," and it says this business supports officers and vets. It's a good angle and I'm glad to support them. Prices were extremely reasonable per box - and Sylvia at the front desk took my credit card professionally. What a simple and pleasant experience it was to deal with PDShred! I contacted many of the local shredders and PDShred was the easiest to deal with and the least expensive. Other companies had ridiculous minimums, one had a multi page contract and a pre pay demand. Do yourself a favor, deal with these folks and don't waste your time with the others. read more

I had let my old mail/bills/documents pile up. I couldn't be bothered to wait for a "free" shred-a-thon day that would probably be no where near me and have long lines. Glad I chose PDShred. They responded quickly to my email and were super helpful when I dropped off my stuff. They charge based on number of boxes not weight. I had 3, 11 gallon garbage bags which equaled about 3 standard banker boxes. I was charged $18. For me that was worth the convenience. They also offer a certificate stating it's been shredded. Great experience. I recently took on a re-model project and it resulted in me needing the help of a shredding company. They answered the phone when I called and answered all my questions and more. I had to call back two more times when more questions and they were always there. One time they did not answer but I got a call right back.
