I called twice with no answer and couldn't leave a voicemail because the mailbox was full. I also emailed to let him know I was on-site and trying to reach him, and I received no response. I then tried contacting him through the online tax document portal chat function (which he instructed me to use to upload my documents), and still no response. I took time off work and used PTO to make this appointment. Given that I was asked to upload sensitive personal information (driver's license, SSN, and tax documents), being completely ghosted at the last minute is unacceptable. Title: Avoid Tad Miller at All Costs - Absolute Worst Tax Service Experience…read more Over ten years ago, I used this location and had a fantastic experience -- an 18-year-old preparer handled my taxes flawlessly. Unfortunately, she left for college, and when I recently decided to give this place another try, they recommended Tad Miller. That was the biggest mistake ever, and I will never go back. I've had many tax preparers do my taxes with no problem whatsoever. However, Tad is the only worse experience I have ever had, and the man is very unprofessional. From the moment I sat down with him, he made stupid jokes and just irked me, but I went ahead anyway as he processed the paperwork. This was mid-February, so plenty early before the deadline. He told me he needed a certain document emailed to him since I didn't have it with me, so he paused everything. After repeated attempts to email him the documents, I never got so much as a "got it, I'm on it." I called and he never responded or called back when I left a message. When I finally got him on the phone, his tone made it clear he was not happy to hear from me at all. I asked if he'd received my email, and he said he had. Well there you go -- why not tell me that in the first place? Anyhow, it's already early April and he tells me he has to file an extension, despite me coming to see him back in mid-February. Are you serious? So then I played the waiting game again, and when he finally finished the tax forms, he calls at 11:55 PM and says he emailed the documents and needs my signature before midnight or it'll be late. Mind you, this is five minutes to midnight on a weekday -- what am I doing at that time? Sleeping, because I have work the next day. So I didn't get the message until the next day at my computer at work. Are you seriously giving me a five-minute heads-up before midnight when people go to bed way earlier than that on a weeknight? So I got a penalty for being late -- because of him. A few months later, he still couldn't finish the work, so Veronica had to step in and complete my tax forms for me. This is now July. WTF. And on top of that, he still didn't give me back my sensitive documents with my personal information -- that didn't happen until November. He really worked on my patience, and I wanted to scream at him, but he had my sensitive information, so I had to bottle all that anger and frustration in. Anyhow, this man is in the wrong business -- maybe he should be flipping hamburgers, because 18-year-olds can clearly do his job a lot better than he can. This man is the worst, and I will never go back to Liberty Tax. If you have to go there, go see anyone else but not Tad. Stay away from Tad Miller at all costs -- this is a warning to you.

I came in more than two weeks ago because I'm behind on my taxes and wanted to confirm they could handle my situation before investing time. Tad assured me it was fine. I had already uploaded multiple tax documents through the Liberty Tax portal, and after our appointment I spent about six hours going through two years of records (bank statements, healthcare-related receipts, W-2s, investment statements, etc.) and uploaded everything clearly labeled and organized in the portal. The next day, I notified him that all documents were uploaded. After that, I received no meaningful updates. A week passed with no email, no call, and no portal communication. When I called, I was told it would likely be done by the following Monday. Monday came and went with no update. I called again and still got no progress report or clear timeline. Voicemails were not returned. Beyond the lack of communication, the office environment was concerning. The space was noticeably disheveled, including torn flooring and trash on the floor, and it did not appear clean or maintained. Tad's appearance was also very unprofessional. Most importantly, during my visit he asked inappropriate personal questions unrelated to taxes (including questions about race/ethnicity), brought up political opinions, and asked who I voted for. He also made very uncomfortable, discriminatory remarks about other groups of people, which was completely unacceptable in a professional setting. I cannot recommend this location. If you need a tax preparer who is responsive, professional, and respectful, I suggest going elsewhere.
