Hostess told us there'd be a wait because they had 2 cooks instead of the regular four, and even so we were seated after a half an hour (better than any surrounding restaurants, which were an hour wait) and food came faster than expected. On our monthly girl's day we go to different restaurants. It was our first visit to Abenaki Trail. It definitely won't be our last. We couldn't decide what to order, so we split a cheesesteak and a Reuben. They were both fantastic. HOWEVER the onion rings were the star of the show. Our awesome waiter told us that they were large, so we split them. Not only was the portion large, but the onion rings were humongous. I hope to get back there soon. read more

Second time to North Conway and this time we were in town for the Steampunk Festival at the Cog Railway. We booked a hotel room and headed to NH and so happens the room was in North Conway. After a day on top of Mt Washington... we were hungry. Checked into the room and jumped into the car to find this place we went to last year. We liked it so much we didn't care what else was around......... come to find out we went out one driveway and into another right next door to our hotel!!!... hehehe shortest trip ever... we literally could have Walked... but didn't know. Had great food again and for once when I asked for a side of BBQ and Mayo when ordering the first time... it actually come out with the food instead of me ALWAYS asking for it again at other establishments. Waitress was fun, attentive and prompt. Place was packed and they know what they are doing!!!! Food was hot and fresh.... hot fries, and perfect! So many restaurants were closed on Monday so we ended up here which was great!! It's pretty casual walking in but the service and food were great! I had the scallops and my husband had steak tips, both were an excellent choice and really reasonable compared to what we would have paid in California!! The wings were frozen and tasted like a refrigerator. Burgers, nachos all so not the quality food. Not recommended at all.

There was 10 of us staying for the weekend. We stopped for a drink and apps on a snowy Saturday night around 10pm. The bar had no customers and the kitchen was closing up. The owner welcomed us without hesitation. Her husband even offered to cook us a couple orders of nachos after their cooks already left. Sydney the bartender was awesome. She was so fun and even joined in on a game we were playing. We filled every seat at the bar, We had so many laughs, enjoyed the drinks and had a great time until closing. We absolutely will be back next time we are in North Conway. I will also reccomend it to anyone heading there. read more

Stopped in on our wedding eve afternoon. We first went to our usual favorite, The Muddy Moose, but it was too long a wait and the owner suggested we try this place (good dude!). Parking lot was a little sparse and I must have passed this place hundreds of times and not thought about it. Walked, in and there were nothing but smiles and welcome. Immediately connected with super friendly staff for some great conversation. Sat at the bar, ordered drinks and apps - generous pour and portions, reasonable pricing and great taste. We made it a party for some of our wedding party to arrive and had a blast. Said we'd come back the next day after our wedding but were just too wiped out but we are definitely going back. This place is the cutest! Warmly greeted by waitstaff and our server was friendly and attentive. No pics of food because they were devoured in minutes. Group of 3, we started with the garlic chicken nachos perfect portion. I got the fried haddock which comes with 2 sides I got garlic mashed and broccoli and my siblings got the shrimp fra diavolo (penne) and Cajun chicken Alfredo (penne). The restaurant opens at noon we got there around 12:30 before the lunch rush. As we were leaving (about an hour or more later) lots more people trickled in. Here's a place that checks off all the wrong boxes for a first time customer... Negative signage as you enter, informing you that you cannot split checks... But apparently you can split parties, as our party of seven was asked to sit at two different tables... A menu that give a preachy, dogmatic diatribe about their policies and how if you don't like 'em, here's the door... My favorite of these declarations was the fact that even though the food is fresh and made to order, substitutions are not allowed...The food was mediocre at best... My chicken special was so overcooked that it was like trying to chew on a saddle, and my wife's baked haddock was the smallest portion I have ever seen... But the final insult came in the form of the check... The night before, in a party of eleven, we ate dinner at their next door neighbor, The Muddy Moose and the amount of the final bill there, was the same as a party of seven here. read more

Showed up to an empty restaurant asking to seat 9 at 1 table can't do it. Ok that's fine we decide we'll split up by families 3,2,4 oh we can't do that either. Uhhhh ok so if you show up with 9 people they won't sit you and don't ask to split up either. We were told that the "boss" (who after the hostess asked if they could split the tables slapped her knees and stomped her feet like a toddler throwing a tantrum) had friends coming in shortly and they could not accommodate 9 people. read more

I see the bad reviews and wonder why? We have been here several times. The service has been friendly and attentive, the food has been cooked perfectly, and the beer is ice cold. We have had burgers, great onion rings, pasta, wings, salad all good. My only complaint is they are often out of items on the menu, so ask waitress right away what they don't have. Stopped for lunch on my way home from skiing...was not disappointed. Lindsey, our server, was so warm and friendly. She made us feel we were at home having a family lunch. We came after a day of skiing with party of six. It's one of the few restaurants that will take a reservation. Upon arriving at 6:30 on a Friday night the place was empty, which made us rethink our decision. Not wanting to wait an hour at other restaurants we gave it a try. We came for the Wings, rated Best of NH. The table ordered various dipping sauces and they were ok, but certainly not the Best,or close. My husband had Baked Haddock, which lacked in presentation and taste. Everyone else got sandwiches. My Chicken Cesaer wrap was lots of lettuce and very little chicken or dressing. The whole meal was disappointing and blah. The waitress seemed very busy with the few tables that filled in...it was a long drawn out meal. Would not recommend in the least. read more

We visited Abenaki Trail Memorial Day weekend with two other families and had a very pleasant experience. It was late for lunch, after 2 PM, and we called ahead to make sure they could accommodate our large group (~ 15). I don't think it was the most convenient time for the restaurant but they wisely didn't turn away the business and handled us like champs. The place was big and tastefully decorated, the food was good, the beer was cold, and the service was timely. That's all we were looking for, and frankly, we would have accepted less at that time, when in reality, any restaurant would have saved us big $$ compared to what we'd have paid at the nearby ski mountain/adventure park. Owner Danielle was very cordial and spoke at length to our group, offering a lot of good tips and stories about the area. There were some cool surprises, too, like poutine fries. A lot of critical reviews here end with a warning to leave and go up the road to find other places to eat. As a long time visitor of the North Conway area, that's a lot easier said than done. A refreshingly nice thing about Abenaki is that they take reservations, unlike most other spots in the valley. We love Moat Mountain but haven't been there in years because of the hour plus wait times, and their refusal to take reservations for even large groups. A lot of valley restaurants aren't serving the kind of food to justify waiting on their lawn or standing in their crowded lobbies for that long. I'd have given Abenaki a star or two just for not being snobs in that way, but it turns out they didn't need it. read more

We decided to grab lunch before heading home from our trip to North Conway and this looked interesting. We had visited this location before when it was a different restaurant. There were 8 of us in total. 4 adults, 3 teenagers and one toddler. It took them awhile to notice we were even there. We ordered our drinks and after we placed our order it took them longer than we would have liked to get our food to us and there was maybe a handful of fries on each plate. My mother had to request another side of fries for everyone to draw from. I ordered the fish sandwich (as did my daughter and my sister) which was actually very good. Definitely fresh and the filet was larger than the bun itself. Crisp and not too oily. My husband got the Pastrami Sandwich on a Pretzel Bun (a special) which he devoured. My other daughter ordered a chicken ceaser wrap which was very large (and very yummy she said). All in all the food was good but the service needed a little help. The decor was dated and looked dusty and there really wasn't anything that made it stand out. I doubt we'll be eating here again. We'll probably try other places nearby next time we visit North Conway. Good, just not worth a second visit, in my opinion. read more

We were on a 3 night stay at Attitash and ended up here on Valentines night after stopping at three other places. It was so crazy how many people those places were allowing in with COVID going on. We just didn't feel too safe so we kept driving to look for a place that was following the guidelines. As soon as we entered we could tell that this place was in line with the guidelines. We sat at the bar, the bartender was great; very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about beer. He also gave us a few menu recommendations.
