I ordered for pick up. Chicken pieces were salty, and dry. Dressing had too much lemon it was super sour. I had half a tomato in my salad, 4 chick peas, and small handful of lettuce all for 18 dollars.

From the moment you walk in the door, the amazing aroma hits you making it hard to decide on which dish to try. The owners were extremely warm and welcoming. We opted for the shawarma platter with the lentil rice. It was served with a side salad, humus and condiments... AND let me tell you.... It did not disappoint! 10/10. For the finishing touch we had baklava and that was also delish. The price for the quality and quantity of food is amazing. Highly recommend.

My wife and I stopped into Abi's Falafel recently and we were both seriously impressed. This place is such a hidden gem. We ordered the Mixed Grill Platter and the Falafel Platter and everything was absolutely delicious -- super fresh, authentic, and full of flavor. The Mixed Grill had perfectly cooked lamb chops, chicken, and kefta. You could taste the spices in every bite, and the meat was juicy and tender. The Falafel Platter was just as good -- the falafel were crispy on the outside and soft inside, with really clean, fresh flavor (not greasy like you sometimes find elsewhere). Everything came with fresh pita, creamy hummus, and a light, refreshing salad. You can tell they care a lot about the ingredients they use and how the food is prepared -- nothing tasted rushed or cheap. The vibe inside is casual and comfortable. You walk up to the counter to order (there's a menu board right above), and they'll bring your food out to your table if you're dining in, or you can take it to go. The restaurant was super clean and well-kept, which we both appreciated. It just felt good being there. The owner and the staff were really friendly and welcoming too -- you could tell they genuinely appreciate every customer that comes through the door. It's always nice when you feel like your business is valued. Prices were very fair, especially considering the portion sizes and the quality of the food. It's also a great spot if you're vegetarian -- lots of meatless options that looked really good too. We will absolutely be recommending Abi's Falafel to friends and family, and we're already planning to come back soon to try even more of the menu. If you're looking for authentic Mediterranean food in the Trumbull area, this place is 100% worth the visit.

Management changed and I definitely like it better now. The food is great, good sized portions, but service could be better. The owner says the food is Halal, but they do serve beer/alcohol so eat at your own discretion. Food is definitely fresh and made to order, cute ambiance, but there is not much seating. Great option for takeout or a quick lunch.

This is my second time posting a review for Abi's Falafel in Trumbull, CT. My go to for a quick, delicious and healthy meal. Best middle eastern food in CT! They have the most delicious kebabs, shawarma, salads, falafel, hummus and homemade lemonade to name a few! If you are in mood for some authentic delicious Arabic food, you got to try this place! Highly recommend it! The portions are very generous. Good Arabic food that tastes absolutely amazing. I ordered chicken shawarma salad and beef kebab salad. Both a must try! Love the ambiance and the decor. The service is super fast. I can't rave enough about this place. They also have lot of parking in the rear of the restaurant. Last but not the least love the music and the vibe. I will give it 5/5 for sure!

We had a great meal at Abi's! The food was made fresh to order and still came out fairly quickly! Their hummus was insanely good, and the pita bread was so fresh. My fiancé and I enjoyed our platters - he had the kafta, and I had the lamb. We both agreed that the kafta was our favorite, and that the lamb could've been a bit more flavorful. The rice and salad on the platter were both very good, and I was addicted to the garlic sauce on the side! We liked the falafel as well. Everyone was friendly behind the counter and took good care of us while we dined in. I found that the restaurant was very clean too!

Huge fan of this place fir middle eastern food in CT. My go to lunch spot I love the Abi's shawarma. They are usually quick to serve but note if your ordering kabobs its a 20 minute wait which I don't mind since it means they are cooking it fresh. Clean little shop in trumbull you can dine in but I usually take them to go. If your new to Trumbull definitely check this place out I have not had a bad meal yet.

Stopped by because I found on Yelp while I was in the area and they did not disappoint. The owner was so kind and friendly with everyone who came in. We ordered a chicken kabob platter and chicken shawarma wrap. Both were delicious and very filling. Can tell everything is homemade fresh. Will def be back again. Love to support local businesses doing things right

    Chicken Shawarma Platter

Having moved from NYC, I wanted authentic, affordable, and most importantly delicious Middle Eastern food. This place is really my go-to now. Everything tastes fresh and portion sizes are fair for the price. I have tried their chicken platter, chicken shawarma sandwich and also lamb salad. All are great. The lamb is very juicy and they give you a good amount. The sandwich is also not dry. I don't know what else to say, but you have to try this place out. I did notice they are closed Sundays and Mondays- but hey, just don't close every day.

ALERT! ALERT! THIS PLACE IS CASH ONLY! ALERT! ALERT! THIS PLACE IS CASH ONLY!…read more Okay, got that out of my system! Let's write some wurrrrrrdz! So this is a stop I have been meaning to come by for some time now, thanks to Saira K.'s review of the place. I've also been wanting to give Pakistani food a proper chance because the last time I tried Pakistani food I had to give 1-star to for making me vomit, so tacked on another reason for me coming here. Another thing helping its case was that it wasn't too far a walk for me from the Bridgeport Station, so it was a relatively straightforward travel to get here. Tonight was finally my night to go. I will start by saying Saira knows exactly what she is talking about with this place. The owners and employees are friendly people, they do give you fast service, and they do an excellent job packing your food. You can eat inside if you've got the time, but I had to get takeout on this one. I still had to walk 20 minutes back to the station, so eating in wasn't much of an option in my case. As you might have noticed however, I did have to take off a star. Why? Well, to put it this way, if you have problems with your vision, bring a friend with you who can read the menu! The lighting made the overhead menus difficult to see, so I did have to get the man behind the counter to grab me a handheld copy of the menu. This was much easier on the eyes. Now, usually, I do also normally take off a star if the place is a cash only place because cash only makes a return visit more of a longer shot, but luckily I had already known about this before coming after reading some other reviews, and there is an ATM in the Baghdad Mart next door, so it wasn't a huge deal this time around. Now for the food, they do heat food in the microwave as I watched with the biryani that came in my order, but this was likewise not a big deal. Why? Because when I got back to the station to try the food, it was indeed tasty! For my order, I did a Beef Nehari and Garlic Naan, and it came with a salad that had a spicy salad dressing to it. It was a large bag of food too! Wanna know how much it was? $25! That ain't bad, and the food is worth the price! That naan was melt-in-my-mouth delicious. Even though the rice was microwaved, it was cooked just right. The Beef Nehari was spicy for sure, but the meat itself was tender and flavorful. The spice did not overpower the flavor here, and that can be a make-or-break deal depending on your relationship with spice. If they only started accepting card payments here, I'd gladly come again whenever I have time between trains. But yeah, even though the food and service is worth the full 5, the one thing I can't overlook is the difficulty reading the menu.

I highly recommend this halal Pakistani restaurant. Food is traditional Punjabi style. The owners…read moreare friendly and welcoming! Service was fast and they pack your food very well. From a creative idea it quickly became a dish available in the cities and towns of the Netherlands. Eventually it crossed the borders of Europe, and now available in Bridgeport CT. My wife and I are originally from the Netherlands, or as we say Holland, and familiar with 'kapsalon.' So we didn't wait any longer and made our way to WoW Kebab & Gyros. The restaurant is located at the corner, and we parked on the street. We walked in, and I was hoping to meet somebody with a connection with Holland. It's always good to meet people from the homeland. Hassan greeted me, and we started talking. No connection with Holland, but with other countries in Europe. And because 'kapsalon' had arrived in Berlin, Hassan knew about it and brought it to the US of A. While Isak, prepared our meal (hope I wrote his name right). Hassan and I talked about life, and other stuff cool people talk about. When he however showed me and had me taste the sambal sauce (a spicy chilly originated in Indonesia) and his garlic sauce, my heart skipped a beat. YES! Finally! Oh, man did I long for this. Hassan I'm forever grateful you decided to come to Bridgeport (Yeah, I know Black Rock). Eventually the 'kapsalon' was ready to go. We said our goodbyes. I think I left Hassan with a little anxiety when I told him I'm going to review them in Yelp. Any how we came home and got ready to eat 'kapsalon.' (A moment of silence) Hassan, Isak... thank you, thank you for bringing home a little bit closer. The 'kapsalon' was great! We will meet again, and I will bring friends to experience a taste of Rotterdam in Bridgeport/Black Rock almost Fairfield. We wish you the best, and that WoW Kebap & Gyros will become a staple in our town, and who knows even will cross State borders in the US of A. teşekkür ederim arkadaşım/bedankt vriend

I had never heard of Dave's Hot Chicken before. I ordered a comfort meal, a chicken sandwich with Mac and Cheese and decided to try out a "fun" drink. A blue raspberry slushie with pop rocks! My coworkers said I order food like a child haha! That being said the guy behind the counter was as professional as it gets. The food took about 10 minutes to get to us, impressive since we had a party of three with different orders. The busser was kind and attentive. The chicken absolutely out flavors that of its competitors! Definitely my new favorite chicken sandwich spot! The portions were amazing, just enough to fill me and their super tasty seasoned fries kept me full on the car ride back to work! The Mac and Cheese was baked to perfection and melts in your mouth! Getting to spill the pop rocks onto the blue slushie was such a fun experience, the candy bursting from the cup like a science experiment or magic trick I got to entertain my coworkers with! Not only was the food delicious but we had a great time laughing and conversating while eating it! Overall it was a great experience a fantastic first impression to a niche fast food franchise.

-- 3/5 My wife,…read moredaughter, and I visited Dave's Hot Chicken in Milford today, and overall, the experience was a mixed bag -- especially when comparing it to the newer location in Hamden. First Impressions & Cleanliness Right away, a few things threw us off. The floors were sticky in several areas. The table we sat at hadn't been cleaned -- leftover crumbs, empty ketchup packets, and general debris. The bathroom smelled strongly of urine, to the point that it reminded me of NYC project hallways. These first impressions affected the overall vibe of the visit. Order Pickup I ordered online, and the screen showed my food as ready. But when I went to the counter, the staff told me they were still plating it. Not a big deal -- I waited another five or six minutes before being called. No complaints there. Food Quality We ordered: The 2-slider + fries meal to split The 10-piece bites + fries for our daughter Flavor-wise, the food was okay, but the attention to detail wasn't consistent: My slider came with barely any slaw and no kale at all, even though it should include kale slaw, pickles, and Dave's sauce. I had to go back up and ask for slaw on the side, which they provided promptly, and then I fixed the sandwich myself. The sliders still had decent flavor, and the chicken was juicy, but the lack of freshness and proper build took away from the experience. Overall The Hamden location was noticeably cleaner and more organized. The Milford restaurant felt a bit neglected during our visit, which overshadowed what could've been a solid meal. Rating: 6/10 -- or 3/5 stars. We'd consider returning, but definitely hope for a cleaner environment next time.
