I called to ask about medical grade compression leggings that my doctor prescribed. I have excellent Blue Shield of CA PPO insurance. I was told they only take Community Care insurance which is a MediCal program. I was near speechless and disgusted with this information. read more

I inherited my grandfathers solid oak desk chair that was made in 1936. I could only sit in the chair for about an hour before my butt started to hurt. Can't say enough good things! We needed a same day installation of a safety bed rail for my father. Abigail patiently talked with me on the telephone to assure we were making the best choice. They found a way to meet our same day needs, and even told us that if the item was not to our satisfaction, we did not have to purchase it! She and her brother arrived at the house precisely on time, and installed the bed rail for us at no extra charge, even thought it took some time! They were kind, courteous and professional, for which we were extremely grateful because we were kind of stressed out by the condition of our father, which had suddenly worsened that day. Not only that, but the price for the item was "very" competitive. Terrible service. Went in with a prescription for compression stockings I needed for surgery that was very quickly approaching, with insurance that DOES NOT require prior authorization for anything simple. You just pay a co-pay or get a bill for what they don't cover, and the woman was completely unhelpful. Wanted me to pay either $120 for them, or wait to see if they get authorized and then maybe drop ship them to me. Something I would never have time for. I had this surgery before in Florida, and this was NOT even remotely difficult like this. They were happily provided and partially covered by insurance. It didn't matter that this surgery is already authorized by my insurance or that I was willing to pay a copay, or partial payment and sign a waiver to pay whatever remained, she just was very unhelpful. Amazing places like this stay in business. Mind you they were completely EMPTY with three people on staff, zero customers... probably why the prices are so high! Steer clear, and go elsewhere. read more

Abigail Newsome is a professional when it comes to medical equipment. She has been in business for 27 years and is an OWNER, not an employee. She is vastly knowledgeable about medical equipment products. I brought my friend who needed an item to Abigail after the medical equipment company who we had been getting supplies from was sold, and the new employees new nothing about their stock or how to place a special order. Abigail knew right away what my friend needed and measured him for the product. When it arrived she went to the assisted living facility where he resides and showed the caregivers the right way how to use the product. How many companies would do that? Although the ladies in the store were nice it does not make up for the fact that the item I needed was not even ordered until 7 days after I was told she would order it. Then I had to wait an additional weekend & 3 days for shipping. If you are in a hurry don't bother with this place. read more

My doctor said the best treatment for my broken toe was just to wear a hard-soled medical/surgical shoe that I could buy one at a medical products store. I called a few stores, but at Abigail's my phone call was answered promptly and courteously by a very knowledgable person who checked to make sure they had the right product in my size. When we got there, an employee helped me find the product, showed me how to put it on with the extra supports positioned properly and she cut the velcro to the right length for my width foot. I give this place an A++ for service and professionalism. It's a farther drive from my house than other medical supplies stores, but they just turned me into a loyal customer---it's worth the extra couple of miles drive! read more
