Great place! If you are looking for a business with integrity and honesty, this is the place. We took our son's 2008 SUV expecting to have a full transmission rebuild. The owner told us upfront what the cost would be but said he would look at it and let us know...the next day he got back to us and told us the only thing we needed was a $24 part, which he had already replaced. He could have easily just done the transmission job and we would never had known the difference. We had originally taken this to our dealership and they told us there was a 2-3 week wait for the car to even be looked at and it would cost $300 just for them to look at it. I wish this place was a full auto service shop as I would bring all of our cars here for service. If you need transmission work this is the place to go! read more

Abington Automatic Transmission was recommended to me by John, of Bridge St. Tire and Alignment. When I called, the person who answered was very friendly and told me to drop it by the next day. He had his guy drive the car all around town and was unable to recreate the problem so he suggested a fluid change and inspection, which was at a more than reasonable price. I picked my car up the next day and haven't had an issue since. This shop is very knowledgeable, friendly, and honest. Hopefully I do not need their services any time soon, but if I do, I would be glad to take my car to them. I strongly recommend them. read more

Had a Ford and Chevy transmission rebuilt from here back to back. Aside from both leaking from the pan, the Chevy 4l60e was slamming 2nd gear. The owner told me there is nothing he could do about it. Eventually I found out I could install a new valve body. Opened up the trans and found neither of the 2 springs in the accumulator for the 1-2 shift and lots of burnt transmission lining. Of course it was slamming into 2nd and will fail prematurely. It would have been a super simple fix. Take off the pan, remove 3 bolts from accumulator housing, install springs. When I called him up he said he left the springs out on purpose and to screw because the 1 year warranty was up. In a few other reviews you may read that Bill is a "nice" and "honest" guy from other unsuspecting customers who knew him for a total of 10 minutes. If he was an honest guy, he would have told me he left the 1-2 springs out of accumulator altogether when I complained about the awful shifting instead of telling me there is nothing he can do about it. If he was a nice guy, he would have offered to send me the parts he left out of the trans I paid him to rebuild, or perhaps offered a few minutes of his time to help me get it functioning properly, rather than going out of his way to text me that I "drive a piece of s#it" and "Go f#$k myself" the day after I wrote an honest negative review. The Ford 4r100 is now starting to slip after only 16k miles. Unless you're prepared to open up your trans in the near future to replace or install parts, I highly suggest taking your chances at any other trans shop. read more

The owner is such an amazing person this is the second time I came to him to get my Ford explorer 2006 fixed the first time I came to get my car fixed it was because I needed a transmission when I seen him he told me I didn't he saved me $2,500 all I needed was lines that come from the transmission to the front of the car which he still didn't charge me a lot of money I can't understand how I went from 2500 to 150 that's all he charged me this man is my angel then today I go in I went to a couple of places they wanted 250 just to add fluid to my car the dealership wouldn't see my car unless I gave them 190 to do the diagnostics then I come here I just needed a quart of oil which he didn't even charge me and I just got my radiator fixed of $500 and it's leaking this man is the best she's honest he's kind and funny let's not forget handsome I still have my truck because of him the mechanics are very nice and friendly also I tell you something you come in with a problem he will fix it and explain what is wrong with your car and show you what's going on I respect him for that and he's the owner I recommend anybody to get their car fixed here I stay by my word this man's an angel read more

What a nightmare 1st transmission job was not 2 bad .Second time to there shop , and still proceed to repair, time after time to give me back my van ,without finding what was causing problems. He stood by repair of tranny .But almost 4 thousand dollars later, 6 trips back and worth . I am now the proud owner of a severely damage vehicle . Integrity!!! For those of you not familiar - Nissan Xterra's (along with other models) contain defects that permit cross contamination of engine coolant and transmission fluid, causing the radiator and transmission to fail or need substantial repairs. Of course I had no idea of this problem until my transmission started acting up. I took my vehicle to a dedicated transmission repair shop and was quoted $4,800.00. I also went to Nissan 24 in Brockton where they quoted the same amount and would not cover any of the work because I fell two months shy of the settlement they reached auto owners. Of course, they never notified any of the owners of these vehicles because they denied that there is anything wrong, even though they settled a class action law suit. It will be hard to tell if I did drive my truck too long before discovering the problem, but for $200.00 it's worth a try. I can only say that I know nothing about autos and think that Abington Auto Transmission is the best for the simple reason that I could easily have been taken for a ride. Don't go here! Abington transmission had great reviews and was recommended to me by my mechanic. However this place does not live up to their reputation. It's the only local place around that will touch your tranny so like anyone else I went there. They rebuilt my Chevy 2500. Ran ok for a bit. Still didn't feel right but I didn't expect it to run the same it never will. However it leaked fluid for a while. I brought it back under warranty and told them my mechanic said it's leaking. They said it was fine. they probably never even looked at it. Years later after refilling my fluid once and a while I figured I was going to keep my truck for a while so I might as well get another opinion. I went to another mechanic and he called them complete hacks! Bolts were so loose they could be backed out by hand!He replaced the seals and gaskets that were never installed properly! Now it doesn't leak and runs ok. Hopefully the low fliud over time didn't do any serious damage but we all know it probably did. In conclusion abington transmission does not take pride in their work. They don't complete their jobs or do them correctly. They also won't take a second look because they already have your money. Go anywhere else! read more
