I was having AC issues with my car. Where I had been going for repairs for decades gave me an astronomical price to fix the AC. i went to Kennedy Auto Repair for a second opinion. The owner said lets try a recharge and see if there are leaks and if so, he would know where the leaks are. It was leaking. I was given a common sense course of action for repairs that has the AC up and running and at a very reasonable cost. I have three cars and Kennedy Auto Repair will be our mechanics for the future. I should start off by saying I'm sure this is a fine establishment. I wanted to give two stars because of a mistake. One that turned out okay, but had potential to be serious. Three stars is me giving the benefit of the doubt, a lot of it. I'm going to make an unusual metaphor... bear with me. Imagine you go to a restaurant, and order a steak cooked medium- rare. When it comes out you cut into it, and lo and behold, the thing is cooked well done. You call the waiter, the issue is promptly fixed and everyone goes on with their lives. As for cars, few people look under the hood very often. Unless the washer fluid runs out, some go for thousands of miles before pulling that little lever above the left knee. Thankfully, after my oil change here, I was curious as to the oil filter. When I propped the hood at a gas station 2-3 miles away, everything was fine with the filter... only the oil cap was missing. It isn't immediately engine-busting stuff, but can do quite a bit of harm in the medium-long run. To say I was angry is an understatement. Yes, I realize mechanics are human, and everyone makes mistakes. Yet, a person who never checks could have gone for thousands of miles before finding out... who knows what could have happened in the interim. I rather not find out. I uber back to the shop. The mechanic working was a little surprised at first, but quickly started doing everything in his power to remedy the situation. He drives me back to the gas station where I parked, all the while apologizing profusely. He was the only one working at the time, so it does mean a lot he would immediately lock up shop and go with me to my car. The oil cap was replaced, and thankfully no oil spilled out. Nonetheless, because of how serious this could have been (thankfully it wasn't), apologies can only go so far. read more

will never return here, i was referred by a friend what a joke this place is, had my car diagnosed on 8/4/23 was told it was the accelerator pedal sensor,but you have to get the whole pedal assembly ok. told me it was 300 dollars and it was 10 days out LIE , i have a buddy that works for a ford dealer and he ran the part number on the parts locator there were 3 in the united states 2 in new jersey and 1 in texas ya i got one for 132.00 dollars with shipping and it is OE from ford. this place is just as bad as north weymouth shell they are hacks to.i don't know what kind of idiots are giving this shit hole a 5 star review they need there head checked. thanks for nothing jerk offs read more

I love this shop! I have an 11 year old Mazda 6 and it's always needing some type of upkeep to keep it going. I have recently needed some frequent repairs and Kennedys Shop is always avail to squeeze me in no matter how busy they are. Over the summer my car had to go back in the shop for an unexpected repair. I was going up North for vacation and I was very nervous that something could happen if I didnt get it in before I left. Dan called me the day before and said he would come in early before they opened to fix what had to be done before we went on vacation! I was so appreciative. Very nice people here. I also appreciate the women who works the office. Listen to me blab about who knows what. Lol. Fair prices. Trustworthy. Great customer service all around. Check em out!!! read more

I came in from out of town for an important repair. They dealt with me in a reasonable way the first time, with two exceptions. First, I was given a worst-case quote of $800. The repair turned out to be easier than that, but they still wanted to charge $800. I eventually paid $700, though it likely should have been even less. Second, the head mechanic and owner, Dan, talked to me and gave me the impression that he would repair my vehicle. He was the one that understood the problem and the person I had confidence in. However, when it was time to fix my vehicle, he was nowhere around. I don't know who repaired it, and I'm not sure that he even supervised the job that day. Made me feel quite uncomfortable when I found out. Felt like a bait and switch. Then, not wanting to rush to judgment, I decided to give them a second chance, and come in for an estimate about a month later for a different repair. They didn't have time to even estimate it for a week, so I made an appointment for an estimate a week later. When I showed up for the estimate, they told me they don't have any time to give me an estimate (despite having made an appointment only for that purpose). Instead, when they have time, they just wanted to start working on it and see what it might cost. Needless to say, this made me kind of nervous. Still, I made an appointment for one more week later to come in for that repair. Then, despite confirming that they would be open on that day despite being a holiday, I arrived for my appointment and found the shop closed. I tried to contact the owners and got no response. Overall, if you're a relative or family friend, you'll probably get good service. Other than that, very hit-and-miss. I was most shocked and unhappy about the poor treatment and the lack of willingness to even talk to me professionally the second time. I was from out of town and really needed help. They had a solid opportunity to do that. Unfortunately, they did otherwise. Based on that treatment, I could not with a clear conscience recommend them. read more

I've brought my car to him a few times for repairs, and he always gets it done in a timely fashion at a good price. I've always been nervous bringing my car to a garage that I will pay too much and not be treated fairly. I tried doing a minor (or so it seemed) mechanical repair on my small Toyota SUV. I took it to Kennedy's after finding out it was a much bigger task than what I had in mind - the price he quoted me was less than half of the Toyota dealerships nearby, and a good deal less than a few nearby auto repair shops. The issue with my car was fixed and he finished the job faster than expected - and even took time to look into another (electrical) issue my car was having. The value is unbeatable and I wouldn't hesitate to make them my first phone call for any future car related issues/repairs. Three weeks ago I felt a pop in my suspension; front of my car was sitting on the tire. Figuring the worst, I called around a few of the larger retail mechanics in our area. I received a quote from two locations for new front coils, and other stuff needed, plus labor, for $3,000 and $2,600. I did some research online and some websites suggested that the price would be approx. $900 to $1,200. Figuring I would give it one last try with someone local, I called Kennedy's Auto in Weymouth. I spoke to owner, told him what the other retail mechanics said. The owner said that he would be able to do it for $1200 and that I was being overcharged. My car was towed and brought to Kennedys. 4 days later I pick up my car and the owner tells me "yeah, those other guys said you needed this and that, but you didn't. Which brought the quote down to $800." From $3,000 to 800 dollars. With a tow. And honest feedback....its like a fairytail. It's hard to find a trustworthy mechanic. Brought my car to Kennedy's Auto Repair in Weymouth the other day because the engine seemed a little louder than normal.They looked at it and said it was my Idle Pulley. He said he could repair it, but suggested I go to the dealer first to see if my warranty would cover it. I had my minivan towed to Kennedy's because it was overheating. I am a brand new customer and Dan had no problem fixing my van's issue and he was even able to add a last minute oil change for me. He called me with a detailed explanation of what needed to be done and my car was fixed in just a few hours. Fair prices and honest service, that's how I'd sum up Kennedy's Auto in Weymouth! Took my Mini Countryman to Kennedy's for a problem with the flywheel. Turned out to be much more - flywheel, clutch, and everything in between. Dan not only took the time to diagnose the issue, but he went above and beyond by continuously calling the warranty company to fight on my behalf for coverage. (most mechanics I've been to will not even inquire about a warranty, just wanting your money and sending you out the door).
