Also, how can you get a ballpark price to fix something if you don't know what needs to be fixed? That's like calling the doctor and saying "My foot hurts. What's wrong with it and how can I make the pain go away?" How can someone tell you over the phone, without looking at your machine and diagnosing the problem, what is wrong with it? That's just ludicrous but whatever works for you. I wouldn't use anyone else to service my appliances. Rich is one of the most honest guys I know in business.

I called Michael, when my dryer stopped drying. Since he's a one-man show (he was at the time I…read morecalled him in March 2024) he's diligent in doing his best to take care of emergencies first. Sort of a triage mind-set, instead of a "first caller comes first". When I called Michael, my situation was not an emergency so he didn't come until the following day, which was just fine with me. He did call to tell me he was backed up and would come the next day. At that time, Michael lived in Staten Island. He had so many service calls in NJ that he decided he really needed to move to NJ, so he did. I had a problem...the same problem with my dryer just a few months later. When Michael came...he couldn't understand why the part that needed to be replaced was the very same part he replaced just a few months earlier. He thought about it and asked me where was the lint duct that exited the house. I brought him outside to show him. He opened it up and said...the duct was packed with lint and that caused the part in the dryer to burn out. He cleaned out the duct...which I'm pretty sure had never been cleaned out. Let me tell you...that duct was PACKED. Michael said I was very lucky the lint inside didn't catch fire. Michael replaced that part again and I never had a problem with after that. Michael charged me very little for that second service call. Not only that but he replaced, for free, the cap to that duct, as mine was broken. He's a reputable businessman...honest, does excellent work and very respectful. Any appliance issues, I call Michael.
