Clay has given us many awesome experiences that we will never forget! If it's your first time or your 100th time doing SUP, he's your guy!

Some is the same and some is different. It's still very clean, welcoming, and a great way to get outside for a workout and/or relax. We love watching the rafting. The kids loved Wildwoods. Always local craft beer options and decent food. Be sure to check out Thursdays and Saturdays in the summer for the concert series! Well behaved dogs are welcome and now have their own park! We hope to have a new furry friend soon and will check it out.

SECOND OF ALL: You all make how much each day off of your visitors and you can't put up a single sign? You have rinkie dink maps that don't provide accurate directions to each location. THIRD OF ALL: Once you get to the location for an event (such as the North Rim Zip line) you have to get in line just to be told you have to walk to another location across a suspension bridge to get your gear. WITHOUT A SIGN mind you. A random 12 year old informed me. FOURTH OF ALL: You have one worker trying to get visitors geared up for the event and that same worker to undo their gear while others are waiting. LASTLY: A number of the attractions are closed as of me writing this. 60% of the rock wall and rock wall over the pool are closed down. If you're going to charge people for an "all day, all activities" pass, make sure you either notify or give a discount to compensate for the closed down activities. Absolute troglodyte behavior on behalf of management. Close down and try again.

Two friends and I each rented a one-person, sit-on-top kayak for the day. We spent a few hours just shootin' the breeze, wandering around narrow water ways and attempting to make our way to the waterfall of legend. Unfortunately, the water level was quite low when we went and we couldn't get quite that far up the stream to see it. It was a beautiful and breezy day with hardly anyone visiting at the time due to coronavirus starting to pick up but quarantine not yet required. Worked out in our favor and was a calm day out. The guy running the shop was very funny and easy going. The kayaks and paddles are a bit beat up from lots of use - it's a good idea to inspect what you get before heading out so that you don't have any issues. As mentioned, prices seem a bit high. However, the prices are for a full day rental. The owner recommended bringing a cooler and getting there early to spend the entire day out on the water drinking beers. Sounds like a good plan for the next time we come out.

The best part about this is that I can honestly say/write that this is a trip worth making from Charlotte or other cities. The little place is run by a man and his brother who helps out. They don't look like the most friendly guys on the planet but you'll find out that they're good people once you start talking to them. The best part about LIPS is that the route they suggest leads you to a small but beautiful waterfall. It's a serene, cool experience. I didn't post pics of the waterfall because I want you to find it yourselves. Can't promise that everyone will like it but it's more interesting to search for something rather than to just paddle from point A to wherever. Lastly, I do want to mention that though they have single, two, three person kayaks, there's only full-day rentals unlike some places with half-day options. Hope you have fun!
