I'm a little surprised Jake's Plumbing has such positive reviews, based on my experience with them…read more My home warranty company assigned them for a job that involved multiple items, most very simple, but two a little more involved. I'll start by saying a few nice things: Jake's is able to dispatch quickly, and the plumbers they send seem relatively capable, though there is some variation. And both the plumbers and the office staff seem nice. More challengingly, it took a remarkable number of visits, over many, many months, to complete some fairly straightforward work. I'm lucky I have a job that fairly easily lets me be at home waiting for a contractor if needed; for someone for whom taking time away from work is a bigger deal, this would have been a brutal experience. And there were a bunch of hiccups, like the wrong parts being ordered, plumbers showing up not prepared to do the job, and a plumber dismantling a shower valve down to the rough-in valve and declaring the job done (surreally, I had to argue with the office that the job was finished when the shower was functional again). Most challengingly, two valves for a tub needed replacement, because they were leaking and too corroded to replace the cartridges, requiring access through tile. For almost a year, I tried to get a quote for the work, because the home warranty company wouldn't cover tile access. I asked the office repeatedly for a quote. I asked every plumber who came to my house to work on other, simpler parts of the job. And I never got a quote, and I finally just gave up. The bottom line is that this office seems to struggle to handle even modestly complex jobs. For the simplest jobs, like a toilet that needs to be snaked or a simple leak under a sink, they can dispatch a reasonably capable, friendly plumber quickly. But the wheels seem to come off when things get even modestly complex, like parts having to be ordered. And I say all that with some regret, because these seem like nice people, and I tried really hard to work with them.

Hard water stains, dry and irritated skin, flat hair -- research says a water softener should help…read more I found LZ on Yelp, saw the good reviews and sent a text. He responded quickly and we set an appointment for him to come over for a quote for installation of a water softener system. Luis listened to my needs and answered all my questions. He talked to me about options and price points, and he walked me through the installation process. I knoowwww they say to get at least three quotes, but LZ was my first and only quote for this project. That brief 10-minute appointment was all I needed to know that Luis was the one for this job. He is confident, knowledgable, friendly and great at explaining things in a ways a layperson like me would understand. The quote was very reasonable, the invoice was formatted well and overall communication with him via text was very easy. Installation went smoothly, the piping is straight and level, he showed me how the system and valves work, went over the maintenance and let me ask more questions. He has a warranty on his work, but I doubt I'll ever have to make a claim because with his skills, I'm sure the system will be running well for years and years! Highly recommend, and I will be in touch soon for the other job we talked about! Thank you Luis!

Every once in a while you come across a contractor who does exactly what they promise. They show up…read morewhen they say they will, do the work efficiently, demonstrate real skill and experience, and leave you feeling like you made the right choice. That's exactly what Dialed In Plumbing did for us. A few weeks before the installation, Brian Dial came out to inspect our aging water heater and answer my many questions about switching to a tankless system. After comparing the costs and weighing the pros and cons, we decided to replace our old A.O. Smith gas water heater with a higher-quality Bradford White model instead. I did a lot of research beforehand and contacted several plumbing companies for estimates. Some wanted to charge $200 just to come look at the existing installation before providing a quote. Brian came out at no charge, patiently explained all of our options, and sent a detailed electronic quote that was easy to review. (Yes, I even copied it into ChatGPT to make sure everything looked reasonable!) Installation day was just as impressive. The crew arrived around 9:30 a.m. and had everything completed shortly after 1:00 p.m. The installation wasn't simply a swap. They corrected several things that had apparently been overlooked when our home was built, including: * Properly grounding the water pipes. * Replacing plastic piping near the water heater with copper. * Securing the expansion tank to the wall with proper straps. * Installing spacers behind the water heater to provide the proper clearance from the wall. These weren't items I specifically asked for, but they reflected their attention to detail and commitment to doing the job correctly. What really stood out, though, was the people. Brian and his team were friendly, professional, and genuinely enjoyable to talk with. They answered my questions, shared their knowledge, and taught me a few things along the way. It's refreshing to work with people who clearly take pride in their craft. Dialed In Plumbing has earned a new long-term customer. The next time I need a plumber, they will be my first call. One final thought for California homeowners: if you're planning to replace an aging gas water heater, you may want to do it sooner rather than later. Pending state regulations are expected to phase out the sale of new gas-fired water heaters in the coming years, making electric heat pump models the primary replacement option. If you need a plumber you can trust, I'd definitely recommend giving Dialed In Plumbing a call.
