Wow. I am very surprised at these bad reviews. I read them before I used Absolute as we are working with Home Depot on our Kitchen Remodel. I was very nervous at first and concerned that these terrible reviews were what I was to expect. However, that was far from the reality - we had a great experience!d Initially, Absolute provided me with a "bucketed" estimate rather than a line-by-line estimate. This made the price seem extremely high. Once they provided and reviewed with me the estimate on a line-by-line basis, I could see that their prices were very fair for the work and I did an ala carte approach to fit our needs.d Our handyman did the demo; Absolute did the cabinet install. I was EXTREMELY happy with the team of Meera and Martin, the subs who did the install. They were excellent!! They were very familiar with the product from American Woodmark and took great pride in their work. They were super fast and did a great job (so far, so good). As far as the team at Absolute, they've been very responsive to my calls and requests. (Home Depot was more challenging to work with - just given how their employees do not have their own phone/voice mail or emails). Overall, an A+ to work with!!! I am super pleased with Absolute. Stay away. My modest guest bathroom needed a refresh so I reached out to Home Depot to get the project started. Absolute was one of two contractors who were sent my way. I chatted with the contact at Absolute, Eric, and he came out to my home to review the project. We discussed in depth what I was looking for: gutting the bathroom, replacing the tub with a walk in shower, new toilet, new vanity. Eric put a quote together for ~$16,000 that covered both materials and labor. I decided to proceed and signed a contract with that amount in March for a June project date and paid in full upfront. Two months later, in May, Oscar from Absolute reaches out to me to explain that Eric left the company and they were sorting through his files. I passed along the documentation that I had. Absolute then tells me that Eric did not quote the project correctly and that it would cost an additional $8,000 -- 50% more than what I had already paid. From there, I had several back-and-forth conversations with Absolute about the contract that I had signed. Absolute's position was that the $16,000 figure only covered labor and all materials were my responsibility -- which was news to me and did not at all reflect what I discussed with Eric or what the quote said. When I pointed out that the quote was all-inclusive, I was told that the quote was irrelevant and "just an estimate". Then Absolute cited irrelevant contract language as grounds to adjust the price, all the while acting like they were really going out of their way to help fix the mess that they made. I asked Absolute if they could provide me a "best and final" number to complete the project, even removing some of the bells and whistles from the quote. That knocked the price down to an additional $6,000, which still exceeded the price quoted by the other provider I met with. Absolute agreed to refund my money -- having wasted months of my time -- and presented a document for me to sign. However the document presented did not guarantee that I would receive a full refund and I had to ask several times for that language to be included. Finally Absolute did so and my refund was processed. This experience has soured me not only on Absolute but on working with Home Depot entirely. I'll take my money to Lowe's going forward. Jim Johnson is a likable guy, and a snake. Had to rate it one star since I couldn't rate it any lower. A year after engaging him to work on my back foundation and redo my front porch, I had to redo the front porch myself and the back yard is still dug up. This is after paying a LOT up front. Bathroom remodel. Unprofessional, rude, and overpriced. Paid up front over $13,000 for removal of a jetted tub, replacement with a soaker, and alcove re-tiling. 1) The tub arrived chipped and damaged with the box partially open. When I called Howie he stated, "first of all ma'am we would never deliver a damaged item to you," despite the fact that his team did just that. 2) The day of the demo, the absolute team did not arrive until 2 hours past the quoted time frame without any communication or call. I would have known nothing if I in fact did not call myself to get it sorted. 3) Howie told me 8/23 that there would be a crew to haul away the damaged tub in my house "first thing on Monday morning" and when I clarified "At 8AM?" Howie affirmed this. They did not arrive at this time and I had to call consistently to figure out when there would be removal 4) I was also told Absolute would coordinate with my HOA which was not done. I ended up having to organize the start of it myself. 5) Howie texted that 9/3 the replacement tub would be delivered which it was. 9/4 the electrician would come to terminate the electricity. 9/5 the plumber would be there. I asked for clarification of times and he told me 8-12pm on 9/3 and said he did not have a schedule for 9/4 and he would follow up. Howie never followed up. On the morning of 9/4 I texted without response, called without information x2 and was finally told the electrician was out with covid and thus there was nobody scheduled for me. Nobody called to inform me 6) Confirmed that my tub installation would be 9/5. Between 9-11 am. Scheduled by Howie in the first place. Come to find out the plumber was not on the schedule. I was escalated to someone named Oscar who stated "well there must be some confusion it's 9/6" Despite me having evidence that it would be 9/5. The actual workers were good. But the people in charge were again, rude, unprofessional and non responsive. It started from Jim who sold it to me (who got this same information halfway through this project and just never responded to me), Howie, Glen. Oscar who I was escalated to engaged with me well and for the most part very professionally. The actual workers ie the tiler, the plumber, etc did excellent work. Now that it is finished I am happy with the work. But I was overcharged for certain and went through a terrible experience. Would never recommend this place. The headache and forced time off work to accommodate their incompetence was too much. read more

Company showed up an hour late for a consultation and after I had rescheduled the appointment (because I didn't know when they would actually arrive and I had a hard stop). They then left a series of unnecessary text messages voicing their anger with my cancellation. Terrible first impression - plenty of other companies to work with. read more

Go with somebody else that will get the work done right the first time. Didn't expect this service and quality from a Home Depot authorized provider. Contract signed for a bathroom remodel 2/3/2024 with "approximate finish date" of 5/13/2024. Ended up not finishing until 7/2/2024. They had to do the work TWICE because of errors of their own doing. For example, very poor paint job (bubbling paint, entire areas not painted), drop ceiling wasn't level, tiles left dirty, toilet installed improperly (you would wiggle it just sitting on it), sink plumbing installed improperly causing it to leak which resulted in the vanity having to be replaced, floor installed with gaps/cracks near the shower and not being flush at the junctions. Pressured to sign off on the work before being in fact completed to general workmanship standards. Poor scheduling and communication. The workers would leave trash outside despite saying it would be picked up on particular days. Workers would just not show up on days that they had been scheduled - and no follow up communication. Eventually, they did things right, but you need to really inspect everything and have them fix things that should have just been done right the first time. Howie, one of the employees, at one point told me that they were bending over backwards for me - despite all my requests being reasonable for the amount of money being spent on labor for this remodel. The second set of workers that did the job the second time did a much better job - I am not sure why they didn't use them instead of the first set who appeared to be trying to cut corners the whole time. read more

So, here's my story of disappointment and few facts though I would say this loud "please do your level best to stay away from Absolute Construction". In May of this year 2023, we started working with Home Depot on a total overhaul of our Kitchen in our townhome in Vernon Hills Illinois. Our Kitchen advisor at Home Depot was Jeff, a very knowledgeable and friendly person with many years of experience in Kitchen redesigning and remodeling. After finalizing the plans etc we bought the plan thru Home Depot for around $25000 everything was good until then. Home Depot sent all the information to Absolute Construction and said that they will be further assisting us and that's when the nightmare started. Absolute Construction did the home inspection, took the measurements, looked at the finalized plans and applied for the permit which took longer than expected, not anybody's fault just the processing times at Village Hall. Finally Absolute Construction started working on the kitchen project more like in the beginning of July 2023. On the first day they did the demolition of old cabinets and sink, that same day a plumber stopped by and did some work and then for next 4 days no one showed up, finally an electrician stopped by and added an expense of $3000 plus which I approved and paid for the same day and ONE WEEK after that the cabinet installer came over and did the install, it's a town home and he was done in 6 hours or so. The kind of the work they performed was not that good. As you can see in the pictures, there's a huge crack in front of the molding right up front and obvious, all the edges are rough and open, bottom molding is already chipping, drawers are either not opening or closing properly, there are faulty/drawer channels and shelf pins are missing, there are nicks on the front of the cabinets. Please note that I am only highlighting some of the issues, the huge ones. Absolute construction not only did a horrible job but also its hard or I would say impossible to talk to the right person there. You can call them yes, but the standard response will be that the right peon will get back to you which never happens or in some instances you will hear back from then in next couple of days. Now it's been one month of frustration that I am trying to get all that fixed BUT no luck yet. Friday last week Someone from Absolute construction stopped by to inspect and said that those are all cosmetic issues and some of them probably won't be fixed.... I hope he was kidding because those are not cosmetic issues. I also reached out to Home Depot and still No resolution. Redid our 70 year old guest bathroom and added a laundry closet in our mid-rise co-opin Chicago. It was a challenging job! And boy oh boy did they ever come through, staying on budget, and finished in the time they predicted. After we made our product choices from the many vendors involved (including Studio 41, Rejuvenation Hardware, Floor and Decore and Home Depot) they handled it all.They provided us with a written outline and timetable for the project and it was adhered ti. Their plumber, electrician and most of all Andy, the on site project manager, were amazing. It was a great experience for us and we will call them again when we redo the master bath. I could write a book about this company, but I don't want to bore anyone with all the details. I will never consider Home Depot for any other home improvement projects and do not recommend Absolute Construction. Multiple issues with this company and Home Depot. I don't think I am a complainer and consider myself patient and reasonable. Lack of customer service, multiple visits and poor communication within this company led to a less than desirable experience. The completed project turned out fine, however what it took to get to that point was painful and I finally fixed a few things myself as Absolute Construction failed to get back in touch with me (even after Home Depot tried to intervene). read more

I would give them a zero if allowed. I contracted them for a kitchen project via Home Depot. They were over budget by 40% (from their initial quote). They claimed that the initial quote is not final. Well all the other electricians detected exactly what needed to be done without having to pull the wall apart. And they sub-contract all the plumbing and electrical work - not sure what value they add. They claimed to be project managing but I was the one coordinating all the work between them and Home depot. Parts were ordered incorrectly by HomeDepot twice. I would have expected the "project manager" to be on top of it. Instead I was verifying and validating. In hind sight, I should have just contracted directly with the electricians and plumbers of my choice. read more

I've dealt with vendors and sales people in the past and some were better than others; but this had got to be the worst sales person I have ever dealt with. Right from the gecko, I could tell the sales guy, CJ, didn't want to be there (which, I mean, if he doesn't want my money that's his loss). I told him that we wanted to completely redo our bathroom (minus the toilet) and that we were open to looking at any tile or products Absolute Construction had to offer. My exact words were "We want everything redone, top to bottom, except the toilet". I actually had to mention this several times as he didn't seem to get it. CJ then proceeded to demean me the entire time for not knowing what I wanted; which was not true. As I mentioned to him before, I had some stuff in mind, but I wanted his input and ideas. CJ made it seem that they didn't offer any products but then later showed an entire binder worth of stuff that the company can custom make which really threw me off. When it came down to the price breakdown, he didn't include the exhaust fan and I asked him why. He told me, very confidently, that I did not mention to him that we wanted this redone. This was when I told him for the 4th time that we wanted everything redone top to bottom and that's when he started to yell at me in my own home about the work it would require to change it. It's a shame because the other person I was talking with, Courtney, seemed very nice and answered all my questions. But after this experience, needless to say, I will be going with someone else for my bathroom remodel. read more

I put an order into Home Depot & they sent salesmen from Absolute Construction of Indiana. They said they would be able to do a walkin tub in 1/18/24 but at 3/15/24 shop mgr, came to inspect for starting and told me that it would not fit. Home Depot is charging me on my account since $14,850.25. Now I can't get my original money back cause they are charging me $978 for administration fees. So I am paying them for no work done. Stay far away from Absolute. Wish I would've read reviews on this company before we started. Absolute Nightmare is what you'll get. They continue to ask for more money and triple charge. Apologize then want you to quickly sign papers only to repeat the same procedures and blame price increase on economy. Currently awaiting a refund for work that they half finished and half promised. They will send one person out and charge thousands of dollars but tell you a crew is coming. Tom the bathroom remodel guy says he's from a different branch of Absolute but wanted $23K for me to pick up my own tile, my own paint, my own everything! What were we getting for that price? On his arrival he proceeded to let me know he looked up my house value on Zillow and that's how he came to his numbers??? No thank you. Appreciate that you let everyone know you've been in the business since 1973 Tom. I won't be one of your clients. Electric man stood on top of our pool table to get to ceiling. We offered to set up a ladder and horse for him. Then he flung the ping pong table to the side scrapping the floor. He also needed to use our ladders. They will give you a "discount" then half way through say they will fix but you'll get charged more money. $120k in and nothing done but emails and phone calls. The plumber put the wrong pipes in place. Told him to leave because he was told to ask us for more money or he could not work for free per Absolute boss named Steve S. Beware, they will apologize over and over for the miscommunication. If they don't lie there should not be any issues. Home Depot needs to get rid of these people. read more

Gave a quote of 11 k to replace a 300 dollar floor Gave a quote of 1200 .oo to put 14 tiles on backsplash Gave a quote saying ALL my doors are custom order and will be 500 a door and 2600.00 to install My doors are standard and a handyman did them last time for like 40-50 bucks or less .. I read some reviews about not being a female without a husband or male around cause they " pull purse strings" I'm really not sure why a company like Home Depot would continue with them ....... Needless to say nobody is out to help anyone for the good... I feel like asking for a manager and letting them know about the monkey shines that goes on .. Can you leave a negative star review? What a bunch a jerks. We used them through Home Depot and expected better. Not only are they rude, they won't return your calls, and if you do reach them they treat you like you are crazy. Everytime someone came to our home to do work, it was someone different. Each plumber, electrician, installer talked about what a horrible place it was to work. Each tradesperson said the previous worker before them did things wrong. Our project was supposed to take less than a week and here we are over a year later still trying to resolve issues. If you are considering them, please do your research first. read more

I should have read these reviews prior to using this joke of an outfit. Most are very similar to what I have dealt with. No communication and no coordination. I am a construction project manager of multi-million dollar contracts and I wouldn't let these guys manage one minute of work on my sites. By the way, for one of the change orders they were trying to push on me, I determined their mark up was approximately 85%. My favorite is the scare tactics. "If we have to reschedule it might be two or three weeks before we can get back." your best bet is to find a good small contract, pay them extra and you'll get better attention and management. Today is the day they completed our kitchen, four days early and it's beautiful. They actually came in slightly below budget and we couldn't be happier. I want to share with you my experience with Home Depot and Absolute Construction. I ordered cabinets from Home Depot and since I had extremely limited time and wanted to make sure that the cabinets were installed correctly I decided to use Home Depot's install company Absolute Construction. When Absolute Construction came to do their measurement the first time, they gave the sales job (because they are very expensive) to explain why the extra expense will save me with time and frustration in the long run. 1. AC will make two visits to your home for measurements to make sure that everything has been measured correctly and the cabinets will fit perfect. 2. Cabinets will be installed within a couple of days after delivery, your family will not have to walk around boxes for very long. 3. They will come to your home after the delivery of cabinets to ensure that they have all arrived and there is no damaged. 4. The installers who work for them have "Safe Background" check and will arrive with name tags. 5. The "Project Manager" will see the install through to the end. All of these items were very important to me so I was excited to have someone to oversee this project since I would be working around the clock to get my business reopened during the install. I want to keep this as simple as possible because I want you to understand that spending one nickel with Absolute Construction it is one nickel too many. 1. The measurements were in not correct, there was a huge vent in the way that the salesman did not account for in his measurement. (He spent most of his 8 minutes talking about how smart he was). Two main cabinets could not be installed. This was not a remodel this was take out the old cabinets put in the new cabinets. 2. Cabinets were delivered on a Wednesday and installed a week later. When I asked to have the date moved up because my counter tops were to be measured the same day they said no way. 3. I requested that someone come to my home to inspect the cabinets, the "Project Manager" Eric told me to call the sales guy Shawn. 4. The installers showed up in a box truck with no name on it, and no name tags. I had no idea they didn't work for AC or HD until we ran into trouble and they were unable to get in touch with the "Project Manager" Eric. When I asked why they did not call someone else they said they didn't work for AC and Eric wasn't going to call back anyway. After two hours of waiting for my Project Manager Eric to return the call the installers left. Never heard a word from Eric. My solution was to purchase in stock cabinets and instead of the floor lay that I had wanted I ended up with an island. So now I have an island I did not want and mix-matched cabinets. To make matters worse when I requested a refund for a portion of AC fees I was told by the GM of Home Depot Jason Thompson that since it was my decision to purchase in stock cabinets (instead of waiting four weeks for other cabinets and another three weeks for counter tops) that it was my fault the kitchen was a failure. Now keep in mind I just expected that AC would deliver what they had on their brochure, the one that HD promotes. Then if that wasn't bad enough when I requested to find out who installed my cabinets they sent over two names, one that was at my home the other name they sent over was not the one who helped and an easy google search found that he had a criminal record. I can only imagine that the person who was at my home background check would have shown. Home Depot cannot hire these people to work in their stores, but they let their "Contract" construction AC hire these low lives to come into your home. Two things to get out of this post: Absolute Construction is a dead-beat company, they don't care about your cabinets, ensuring that they are installed correctly or who they send in your home. Home Depot's response to the situation was way out of line. Who would wait on this company they did not deliver on the measurements, the inspection, the install, the background check or the follow up? Why would anyone in their right mind give this company another four weeks? I did end up with a small refund but nothing that even began to cover my cost of extra labor and frustration of finding other workers to come and complete the job that I paid AC to complete. read more

I didn't use them. The person that came out was very pushy. I am shocked that Home Depot has hired them. He wanted an exorbitant amount of money, thousands of dollars, to tile my bathroom floor. When I told him no, he started telling me I shouldn't hire contractors who were laid off due to COVID-19. I explained to him that I was president of our condo association and I would use one of their competitors, who is licensed and naturally insured. He then started telling me as he was leaving that they need to do certain things and I told him I'm sure a reputable tile company knows what to do. His desperation was obvious. He then stated he was going to email me an estimate. I told him not to bother. Finally, he left. He was very pushy, trying to act like a know it all so that I would break down and hire him. I highly recommend Absolute Construction! I bought my very first house in January of 2010 and they had me in there in 4 weeks. Absolutely an incredible feat given the circumstances. The house was abandoned for years and the plumbing was stripped out of the basement. To make matters worse, the house got broken into the day after I bought the house and the plumbing was stripped out of the main and second floor as well. New plumbing, kitchen (including cabinets, countertop and flooring), electrical, doors, windows, fixed laundry room, etc. All of this in 4 weeks. In my case, the entire renovation was rolled into the purchase price of the home as part of a 203k loan. Absolute Construction served as the designated contractor of Home Depot for this renovation, which is worth mentioning as another vote of confidence. Absolute Construction served as the general contractor and pulled in other professionals on plumbing and electrical specifically to get me in there ASAP. The day after I closed on the house, Absolute Construction immediately started pulling the building permits. During the process they were true professionals, very courteous and very accommodating. They even threw in a couple things not included in the bid out of generosity, and a couple upgrades such as the quality of the kitchen flooring. I liked all of the workers, very honest people. On a job like this, there are naturally tune-ups necessary and Absolute Construction would have someone at the house within two days of being contacted. In fact, what inspired me to write this review was that they had someone over today to check out a water heater when they could have said no, because it's been over a year. It was a false alarm. If you want the job done right, hire Absolute Construction. You can hire them with the confidence and peace of mind of knowing everything is done to code and you will be fully satisfied with the results. They're the real deal. read more

I laugh at these people. I have a galley style kitchen 8.5ft x 7ft: a 7ft wall with cabinets and sink facing another 7ft wall with cabinets and stove. Fridge is adjacent in adjacent dining area. The clowns came out and not only did they get the measurements wrong, they quoted me 17k to do a full gut. Posting pics of the quote shortly. I got my entire bathroom, kitchen, and basement remodeled for slightly more around 20k including the fixtures and cabinets. Gtfoh! read more

Absolute Construction charges very steep prices and does not provide good quality of work. It took their administration a month to schedule installation of the cabinets, though they knew the delivery date and I confirmed the date to them. I was living a month like in a ware house because all cabinetry was in my living room. Their cabinet installed worked very well, he made a minor mistake, but came back to correct, it is acceptable. Their plumber came to look at the scope of work and stated that it needs additional work and will cost more money. They charged 2000 for plumbing and 1000 for connecting the appliances, and they want more? Their supervisor stated that he is not aware of any additional work on the project. For $1000.00 they took a hose from dishwashing machine and hooked it up to a garbage disposal, that's all they connected. Very steep price. The plumber did not appear to work twice and wasted my time. At last he appeared and left quickly without saying a word and did not respond to any phone calls. I have noticed that my disposal is not connected and contacted the manager. The manager stated that this is an electrical job and it is not in the contract, so they do not have to do it. I did not write that contract, their regional manager did. That person had to know what should be in the contract, not me. I had to pay $175.00 to an electrician to wire the disposal and now I have my kitchen back. Absolute Construction manager Mr. Stadnik is doing his best to cut sharp corners, navigate between the customer and his employees and make things rights. Good luck to him, he has a very difficult job and I wish him good luck. read more

It's easier to put the letter I wrote to Home Depot.... J......, I had the time to look over the quote from Absolute and speak with Jeff regarding my concerns. I am very disappointed that home depot would associate with a contractor like this.  This quote is literally 4 times the amount of the initial quote.  I feel it is a bate a switch situation with them.  I spoke to both people that came out to measure at length and tried to show them my outlets and crawl space and plumbing, neither wanted to do that.  Now there are all kinds of charges for "relocating" and "changing" pipe size when they refused to look at them while they were here. There is a charge for over $4200 to upgrade my electrical box that the village nor ComEd had a problem with to install my solar panels?? $300 dollars to "wait 4 hours for the village to inspect the electrical"??  Why doesn't HD have someone more local to do the work if I have to pay for their travel? Over $1800 to "patch" the wall for these allegedly needed new outlets and no texture or painting included??? The list continues, but you get it. Jeff's main explanation was that if they find they don't have to do any of those things, I'll be refunded. Does he expect me to pay in full prior to the work?  That's the way he and Home Depot do business?  I don't think HD would appreciate them taking advantage of their customers. Because of their unethical practices, I am now months behind in finding an installer.  I trusted HD to have someone I could trust and so I did not look for anyone else.  The original quote was understandable and I feel they did that to hook me and then have my back against the wall for their bate and switch and have to go with them. Let me be clear, You have helped me a great deal and I have enjoyed working with you.  I'm not giving up on my cabinets but now I am way behind to find someone I can trust to install them.  I worked hard to make sure I had everything was in order by years end so it could be started when the cabinets were ready. Now I am back to square one. I'm so very disappointed. Please save my renderings and I will be getting back to you. After they measured and determined that the job was doable (in summer) they ignored me for months (unless I called), impolitely telling me they had no job to do. On 12/27, they told me this again (after not coming to the appointment they had made for 12/23), and then told Home Depot on the 12/28 that the nature of the job was such that they would not accept liability for possible damage (clearly inconsistent). Lack of attention to measurements was responsible for not catching two errors, each of which resulted in reorders and weeks of delay to the project. Cabinet installers, when they were available to be scheduled for us, did an excellent job on the cabinetry itself, although they made a few ancillary mistakes. We had 3 different cabinet installers, 2 different plumbers, and 2 different electricians. Almost every person working in our home under Absolute Construction talked about how horrible the company was to work for. I agree with the other reviewers that several times throughout the project there was an "unexpected expense". Drywall work was an afterthought, left to cabinet installers and electricians who were not fond of it. Project coordination was the worst aspect--the project was initially projected to take five days after the cabinets arrived and actually took 187. Besides the reorders for errors, the company did not have adequate staff to allocate to work on their projects, and our phone calls were often not returned for days or weeks. Work was never completed by the person who began it. If you end up using Absolute Construction, make sure you have a huge bottle of aspirin because the whole experience was nothing but a huge headache. read more

I'm sure their work is great but you will pay 2-4x as much money. So if you have it and want to waste it go with them ! I Scheduled a quote through Home Depot for a bathroom remodel .... To say I'm shocked at there quote is an understatement. The quoted us 3-4x as much as other contractors and I was told by more than one party I was being taking advantage of. I do not recommend working with this company at all. We contracted them through Home Depot to do a bathroom remodel. Which included installation of a new tub and tile. They had very poor project management and communication throughout the entire project. I had to continuously call them and ask for a status update. They never reached out to me proactively. People they sub-contracted out would leave my home, and I would have no sense of when they were returning. Overall, very poor experience. read more

I have to completely disagree with the reviews below. My parents used Absolute Construction to remodel their home in the Chicago area and I was with them every step of the way. The main work was being done in the bathroom. The first gentleman from Absolute who spoke to my parents was very polite and explained the whole bathroom remodel in a very simple manner. Even though it wasn't my home they understood my opinion was very important. When in the home the gentleman was very knowledgeable and talked me through the whole process. We were given a fair quote, that wasn't low balled then later up charged at the last minute. We ended up putting in a gorgeous new bathroom, complete with a very well-constructed American Standard walk in tub; which my parents absolutely loved. I am happy I found them and have no regrets using them in such a substantial purchase. If needed I will definitely use them again read more

Would not return our emails all this time until we filed a complaint with BBB, then they call us and I requested in detail their plans to fix the cabinets..that took a few more days for their reply.. Of course on BBB, they tried to make it look like we were exaggerating on install, (pics are proof) and gave the excuse for the filthy mess they left me...because we live in condo. No excuse for not cleaning up and using a saw with no dust collector on it, leaving mess, in not only my kitchen, but it was through the entire house because they didn't even put up plastic to close off doorway. So now another week till they reset a few cabinets because stove is too tight to install heat shields. And have not addressed the issue of filler boards not cut flush. Then, there are a few cabinets and drawers that need to be adjusted..gaps snd drawers don't align, which means my handles will not be centered..they told me it will not be noticeable. WOW! I am shocked at the quality of their work. The worst part is..it was a simple install..7 lower cabinets. That's it. I feel sorry for people that don't know any better. My father owns a tile and construction company, for over 40 years: (family,), so thankfully I know what to look for. I wish I would have waited and had him install them. The only reason I did not was he has bad rotator cuff and business is busy and I wanted the kitchen done asap. Although I haven't worked with them. Home Depot set me up with them for a tub and shower surround replacement. These guys quoted me nearly double what all the other contractors in he area did. Worth noting the other local contractors have a better rating here on Yelp as well. read more

Hey all! So I had never done any type of remodeling before, so of course I was extremely nervous and I definitely wasn't sure which direction to go. Just like a lot of you guys, you read their reviews online and saw that they were a bit above average. I got in touch with The Home Depot and they assured me that Absolute Construction was the way to go, that they have been in business for years upon years. I wanted to do a complete overhaul of my bathroom since the house I moved into was completely outdated. I was contacted by the bath side and I set up an appointment for someone to come out to my home through Brittany R. She was very positive and bubbly over the phone, in a way I felt like we had been friends for years because of the comfort level that I felt instantly. I was very happy with how prompt the sales person was who came to my home, especially during these times with Covid-19. He followed all of the guidelines, wearing a mask and following the 6ft apart rule. He was a very nice guy! I was very pleased. I received my estimate the next day. I was a bit nervous about the price, but after speaking with Aaron I knew I was in great hands. He went into great detail about my project to insure that this would turn into my dream bathroom. Well he was right! Due to this crazy time we are living in, I was thinking this project would take forever due to Covid-19. Then, I received a call from Jeff. He said that all of my materials were in, but we were just waiting on my permit to start the job. I called in a couple days later to check on the status of my permit and spoke with a lady named Fatima. She told me that she would call and check on my permit and would give me a call back. An hour later I got a call from her and was told that my permit was a couple days out. I was really excited at that point because I knew it was almost time to start building my dream bathroom. Sure enough, I received a call from Jeff 3 days later. We set up a day and time for my project to begin. When the installers arrived to start my bathroom, they were very prompt with arriving on time and each day they left they made sure it was very clean. Absolute Construction did a phenomenal job on my bathroom! You could just tell that everyone that I spoke with was very professional and the best part was that they were with me every step of the way throughout this journey! Home Depot sent me this contractor. I simply asked for remodeling of the relatively small bathrooms in my single family home ( Chicago condominium). They responded with a whopping original estimate of $36,112.55!!! Which included electrical work I did not need or request. I don't want anyone doing work in my home that I cannot trust. Home Depot remodeled my kitchen and did my flooring. The contractors did great work and provided me with reasonable original estimates. I am a bit surprised and disappointed that Home Depot is working with a contractor with so many terrible yelp reviews. read more
