We had a new garage built last year. (See previous reviews) It was not very good quality and super expensive. It burnt down 6 months later. After being tossed around by another contractor, we found Absolute. Thank heavens! Matt, our salesman/contact person came out the next day, the price was about $10,000 cheaper than we had just paid and it was improved from the old one. Within 3 weeks all permits were pulled and contractors were tearing down the fire ravaged shell we had left. A few days later a crew of 3 came it and worked like a ballet. No movement extra, everyone knew their job and did it to perfection. Very polite and clean. I can't explain enough the superior workmanship these men did. During the process Matt checked on us and made sure we understood where we were in the process and that all our questions were addressed. Absolutely superior in every aspect of our transaction. Had a garage built by Absolute 9 years ago. Shoddy workmanship. One of the door frame side walls is out of alignment, which I didn't notice at time if construction. Siding has come loose at the top under the facia and had to reattached. Door trim, overhead and side doors cut wrong. Also, after only one year cracks appeared in the garage floor. New owners have acquired the company after the garage was built. So the above complaints don't apply to the current owner. However, my back wall garage window has broken and I called the current company to see if they could replace the glass, for payment. The person who answered put me on hold to check. She came back and asked when the garage was built. I told her and was placed on hold again. She came back and told me they couldn't help me. It appears that since my garage was built under the previous owners they do not want to offer repair services. Look elsewhere for a garage. If Absolute has any positive reviews, I'd ask to verify the project. I'd bet they are from friends and family working to improve their Yelp profile. Things start well, as they will send someone like Luis, who is punctual, polite, accommodating, and knowledgeable. Then construction will start, and the project will go downhill fast. Instead of 2-3 weeks of construction, there will be 8-10, with long periods of time that you never see an Absolute employee. They also leave the job site an unsafe mess that your neighbors will complain about. If the delay were the only problem, I could live with it. But after you spend time fighting with them to fix big problems, you will be left with a piece of junk that you are embarrassed to have on your property. I hope my uploaded photos help make my point. To describe them: The first is where they put screws directly into drywall to attach the door opener. It was loose in about 3 weeks. Drywall anchors exist for a reason. One photo shows the open cut end of the wood on the door frame. Also, no caulk or flashing at the top of this door like the other one. There is a good shot of the concrete apron spalling after six months. Only on one side, though, maybe they got part of it right. There are two shots of my favorite feature from my new garage: its one window and the finishing around the interior. Look at that craftsmanship and attention to detail. That's what you can expect from Absolute garage builders. This is after I had them fix defects that were just comical. Like replacing patio bricks that had be taken up when the demo crew didn't tag the electrical supply. Also the holes in the drywall that were 150% too big for the switch plates that were supposed to cover them. I also think the door tracks aren't true as the door travel is rough and sometimes problematic. After a while I just wanted them off my property. Stay away. Far away. read more

Not the experience I had hoped. Matt, the salesperson was nice but the rest of my experience, not so much. The demolition crew was in a rush to knock down the existing garage and ended up tearing out the anchor for my electric lines. Thankfully they did not break any lines and were able to reattach them to the house. The concrete crew did not read the details of my contract which included the replacement of a sidewalk and step. They were made aware of if the morning the concrete truck came and in their haste they used their Bobcat to rip out the existing concrete, damaging my front lawn with very deep ruts. They did not properly place forms and ended up cementing the retaining wall block I have set INTO the sidewalk. They washed their equipment in the middle of the lawn in my back yard leaving a hot mess of rock and concrete. Proper forms were (in my opinion) were not used to pour the sidewalk at the entrance to the service door of the garage as rocks were washing away from the underside at the first rain. It was "patched" but I doubt it will last long. The floor does not seem to be properly "pitched" as water pools in the center of the floor. The electricians told me I would be receiving a "fancy" outside light at the service door, what they showed up with was a $10 jelly jar light...yuk! Good thing I had purchased a motion sensor light that they put up in it's place. Didn't leave the jelly jar light tho...gonna resell that bad boy to someone else. All I wanted to do was replicate the garage that I had but that didn't happen. They put the service door on the side instead of the front and put a HUGE overhead door alone on the front. Can't even put any kind of lighting on the front of the garage to enhance curb appeal because they only left 5" on either side of the overhead door. Initially everything in our garage was good, until we had an electric issue that left our garage completely powerless, I called a licensed electrician who inspected the garage and was able to uncover that the power line that absolute garage builders ran from the house to the garage was not done properly and I we've been waiting for 3 weeks since I spoke with Randy from absolute garage builders who stated that their electrician would contact me, now they are been dodging my calls. I will update this post as I'm looking to contact the city since they pulled a permit and said all the inspections were done. read more

Absolute Garage Builders did a beautiful job on my neighbor's garage, but in the process, tore down our back gate, and built the new garage 2" wider than the old, so we couldn't even put the gate back in if we wanted to! They created a serious security issue for us - we could no longer close our property off from the alley! We had expected they would replace the damage done to our property, but instead the different workmen blamed each other and, when that came full circle, blamed us!!! The demo guy told the central office that WE took our gate down (a complete lie), then hung up on us when we called to challenge his story (literally hung up when we said who we were - there was no argument - we never got that far past the introductions - he just hung up and then wouldn't answer our calls!). Then we were told that our gate was old and needed to be replaced - true, but irrelevant! It was working perfectly fine before they ripped it off our garage. Finally, after several weeks, they offered to replace it for us... at our cost for materials plus labor! You've got to be kidding!!! Long story short - do they build a nice-looking garage? Sure. STAY AWAY! I received Terrible service from the owner and this company after spending $17,000 for a new garage!!! They tore my gate down and left my entire backyard exposed to the alley for weeks without a temp gate until my $500 grill was finally stolen. The entire door bent sideways along with the framing after the company installed short rollers on the bottoms of both doors causing them to be pulled off the track and out of alignment from standard tension. Rather than honoring the 2 yr warranty, the owner continuously accused me of damaging my doors by leaving the lock on despite photos and testament of myself and his staff. Rather than send a repairman to access, an inexperienced "runner" was sent and the owner told me I'd have to pay for the damages until I protested. After proving the damage was caused by Absolute Garage per HIS repairman, the owner never called nor apologized. I truly believe I would've gotten better treatment had I not been a "Southside" resident. Lastly, the company failed to but barrier wrap down before building my garage. Less than 1 year after building, mold and water damage 8" from ground has affected more than half the entire garage. The studs are rotting from the ground up. The owner never even responded to my call to complain and request service.....all within a year of having it built. Court will be my next step. read more

My garage looks great however it was a nightmare working with this company. Over promises and under delivery at its finest. They bad mouth the competitors in thier witty way and because "Wally" was firendly and over promised things to my husband he got suckered into going with them. My husband did warn him not to piss me off because then I would be the point of contact. The garage was my husbands baby so he took ownership of getting the project done. When the no shows and lack of communication from them began then that's when I got involved. My husband threw in the towel and it takes a lot to upset him. We alternated taking days off in order to be home so for them to just not show up is ridiculous in anyones book. We would call and were told on two different occassions that the construction crew was on their way but never showed up. When they finished the garage come to find out that we paid for tyvek wrap and it was never wrapped. The owner offered us a discount of $100 in order not to redo the work. What a joke so needless to say we had them redo the garage. I wouldn't be surprised if they only wrapped one side and years from now something happens and we uncover the truth. The only time they would return our calls and persistant as if it was soley because they were concerned was when the contractors would forget to pick up the check from us. Wally had also promised to throw in some wood slabs on the Gable for storage for us and that obviously never happened. The light fixture for the outside of the garage is garbage what a joke I returned it for $5 at home depot since we bought one that actually would work best. My biggest beef was their lack of responsivness and them not inspecting the work at the end. I am not a garage builder therefore I hired them to do the work and since they sub contract the work you would think that it would be a no brainer for Absolute to come and inspect the work as their name is on the line. Contract was signed mid October and they kept pushing the work off unitl Thanksgiving after promising weeks before that. I recently had an inspection done at my house not for the garage but they mentioned to me that the electrical for the garage should have been run to it's own junction box which the electricians ran it to the AC box. I called Absolute and I was surprised that they actually called me back. They were a bit defensive since they have been working with this electrical company for a long time. They had the electrician call me and the owner told me that his guys have been doing this for a long time and they wouldnt do that. Since I dont build garages nor am I an electrician I obviously would have to take the inspectors word versus theirs. Anyway he asked me to send him a picture and I did. No call call to apologize but did send his guys out here right away to fix it. Not sure if it was done properly at this point since they filled out on the original paperwork that they did run the junction box.....Hmmmm. makes me wonder how many people this happens to. Anyway I strongly believe that in the best interest of the client that Absolute Garage Builders has the sole responsibility to inspect the work since they are getting paid for it. As a manger I inspect my staff and their work but I guess once people like Absolute get paid it doesn't matter. My biggest mistake was not reading yelp on them or being more involved in the process since the beginning. I need to build another garage at another property and lets just say we will not be using Absolute Garage Builders. read more

Disappointing. I selected this company over a more established company because they were in the neighborhood. Big mistake. Please look elsewhere for better quality, more thorough completion of the work, and better service after the sale. I had so many promises that were not kept that I don't now where to begin. Poor concrete finishing where the pad meets the alley. Service door that doesn't close and lock. Walls that were put up without bolting to the foundation. Daylight showing between the wall and roof. I had to ask them to come back to the job site more than once for completion and repair. read more

The garage was fine, I guess, except for where they shoved cardboard in to spots to line things up. The big problem was that they dug a trench in front of the garage and then just ... left it there. They told us they'd be back to fill it in, but decided they didn't want to, I guess, and instead just charged the remainder of the cost to us and wouldn't return phone calls. I was going to give them two stars, but knocked it down to one for dishonesty and poor customer service. I wouldn't recommend them. read more

Very disappointing!! Please look elsewhere. Their sales representative is the worst communicator. We had poor concrete work done. For whatever reason they decided to leave us a open side patch without talking to us about it. The garage ended up being bigger than what our contract had stated. The carpenters and electrician company were great to deal with but as far as Absolute Garage company, worst company to deal with. You would think that we would get a call for a follow once the work was all done but no. I placed a call last week to obtain a follow up to check if inspection has been done, almost a week has gone by and no phone call yet. I would not recommend this company to anybody!! I purchase my garage through Absolute Garage in sept. 2017 Aman my salesperson and Randy was the manager / owner. Before purchasing the garage Aman who is the brother of the owner and an ex employee of Daleys who bashed Danleys so bad I'm upset at myself for not choosing Danley. Aman never told me that I needed a bigger circuit panel that's first and foremost. Which after the building of the garage and come time to put the electricity in there were no wires or piping to run the electricity an found out the circuit board to small that was told to me from absolute electricans so they refused to touch the project. Randy told me thats not their problem my panel was to small but their sales person looked at the panel when he came to write up the contract and never mention that. At this point know way to put electricity in my garage. When they came to build the garage they lay the concrete never took out for the electrical to be ran to the house. Waiting on the electrical guy to come out I missed two hours of work. My mom had to stay and wait for them when they arrived they informed my mother they were unable to put in the electrical because they didn't put any piping for the electrical work. I then call Absolute Garage and talk with Randy who told me that he would send the electrician back out who never showed up so I had been open the garage by hand until I had to get someone else to put electricity in my garage a month later. Absolute still wanted me to pay them $1,600 for nothing now December 24th 2017 my doors are swelling and I'm not getting any answer from Absolute Garage after leaving several messages no return phone call. I can't close and lock my door now again I have fine someone to fix my door. Don't waste your money or time with this company to be disappointed in the end. I should had done more research on this company. I see just reading other complaints this company is known for their bad business and unfinished work. Beware people. A year later, and I'm still upset with the service. My aunt recommended them and they were comparable to other quotes, so I gave them a shot. Everything started out great initially, but when I came home to a concrete foundation that started directly next to the sidewalk, I was upset. Their response, well you didn't specify where to build. Touche, but you also didn't ask. I'd assume at the very least you'd build were the old garage was, but that wasn't to be. Then they built the garage higher than the level of sidewalk, so we asked about adding a step. They did begrudgingly without any additional charge (mostly likely because of my many complaints during the process- those were just 2 of them). I never expect to be excited when it comes to big projects like this, but when I spend $15k to demo and rebuild something that lasts as long as the garage I expect to feel ok. Now I'm contemplating whether I need to rebuild all over again because the walkway is so narrow with the garage's current placement, the step that blocks a 1/3 of the walkway, and the sidewalk is already on the property line so I have no other options for modifying the ridiculous error. I just got finished having Absolute build my garage and wanted to share with everybody my experience - Over the last year I got 4 quotes from all the major players; Danley, Hills, Georges, and Absolute - The Danley sales person was arrogant and did not even call me back after the quote - Hills was decent but did not call me back after asking for an upgraded quote based on a new garage design - George's sales person was nice and called back but after looking at the BBB and talking to someone who was suing them due to shoddy work I obviously did not use them - Mike from absolute always called me back and was interested in my business - He worked with me on my garage even though it was an unusual build for them - He was also patient with me even though I took a long time to finalize the deal - They built the garage quickly and to my specifications - Whenever I had some minor issue Mike was more then willing to correct it - As with most sub-contractors their can be a language barrier as one sub added additional gutters that he was not supposed to because he did not read the work order correctly - Mike took care of the additional gutters with no additional cost on my part - So make sure you watch the subs and understand the build process so you can correct mistakes that you notice - Overall the Garage is great and I would highly recommend them - They may be smaller then Danley but do you really want to deal with arrogant sales people and inflated prices, not me! The best compliment came from my neighbor that walked by and stated "what a beautiful, beautiful garage" read more
