What happens when a husband and wife can't agree on a garage? They thank their lucky stars to have met Aaron of Absolute Garage. Patient doesn't even begin to describe Aaron. He is also hard working and quite knowledgeable about the offerings of his trade. That's to his credit and much to our benefit. I digress... when I met Aaron, we'd just bought a house. My husband thought our existing garage was 'fine' and, of all the things we wanted to do, he didn't think fixing something that wasn't broken should be top of the list. I saw "broken" differently. Our garage is the first thing you see when you look at our house. When we'd bought the house, I had agreed on the condition that I could change the house from, "Oh, that's... ... nice." to "Oh! That's nice!" And there was no way an old dented gray-blue garage that was the same color as the house was going to give me those exclamation points. Being a man of his word, he promptly washed his hands and told me that if I did all the legwork and kept us in budget, I could have my new garage. Challenge accepted! So I kinda knew what I wanted. I had fallen in love with carriage doors. I had shown them to my husband. He liked them as much as I did, he just didn't think we needed to change the garage door right away. However, most carriage doors that we'd seen in inspiration pics were made of wood. We both agreed that real wood would 1.) probably need to be custom, 2.) expensive because custom = $$$, 3.) a lot more maintenance than we wanted to put in and 4) did we mention expensive. So next best: wood look. I called several people. It was strange how many of them seemed to want me to already know the exact brand and name of the product I wanted. This is what differentiated Aaron almost immediately. He took what I described and gave me what I was really after - suggestions from someone who knew far more about garages than me. Since I knew I would be getting my concerns addressed, I told Aaron what my husband's concerns were too so we could be sure to include things for him (I'm an awesome wife, aren't I?). Aaron worked tirelessly on this. When he came out to take measurements, he struck me as very friendly, professional and best yet, determined to get us what we wanted. After talking through our needs and wants, he researched options and came back to me quickly with an initial 3 options and then another two when my husband decided to "refine" his list of wants.. Being our indecisive selves, there was a lot of back and forth - personal visits, emails, calls and texts - to get us to a final decision. Through it all, Aaron remained steadfast. We finally settled on an Amarr steel carriage-look door with faux wood finish after looking through the suggestions he had given me. We also included a new quieter motor and external keypad for my husband who wanted better access. While the golden oak stain was a bit warmer than I'd wanted, it was close enough. It was several thousand less than I had expected to spend - very budget-friendly :) For the price, even with the extras, it was too good to pass up. Installation day came not too long after and had the best outcome - it was pretty uneventful! I'm pretty sure this was thanks to Aaron's precise measurements beforehand and the experienced installer (Tyler). I was home, but the only time I was called out to help was to input the code I wanted on our keypad! Tyler showed us the features of our new opener, how to change the code, sync other remotes, etc. He left the place as clean as it was before he got there. My garage door failed, I didn't notice and backed into it. They sent someone out and within a couple of hours my car was freed from my garage and a new door was ordered. I was quoted 4-6 weeks for the replacement door to arrive. Three weeks later I got a call that my door had come in and was able to schedule the install for a couple of days later. Fast quote but no follow-up. Aaron gave me the quote for his service. He seemed visibly annoyed that I was taking multiple quotes and off the bat told me he was not going to be the cheapest(Which he was not). That is however not the point. Aaron's warranty terms were significantly better than others and when I did a price/failure analysis I decided to seriously consider him to do the job. I also wanted my opener to be done the same day so i proposed that might be something he is able to do. It was a suggestion on yelp chat. Anyway, I was totally ghosted by Aaron, no response to emails, texts and yelp chat. I got a call during a meeting, i texted a good time to talk and never got a call/text back. While the door installation and installer, Nate, get 5/5 stars, Absolute Garage mid-management and quote-to-installation process gets 1 out of 5 stars. I went with these guys due to their faster turnaround time, but in the long run would have benefited from going with one of the larger companies who are more experienced and quoted me for 400 less for equivalent install, Mid management (guy who provided estimate) was argumentative, negative of the help I was trying to provide by removing and hauling away the garage door myself and reframing the rotten rough opening at my expense, and ended up costing me more money by forcing me to cut out perfectly good electrical that didn't need to come out. Now I'm paying for my electrician to come back and reinstall what I was told to cut out. If it wasn't for the company's top dog, Ty, this review would be a 1 star. He was willing to talk to me at 10pm at night, after the installer had been there from 10am-9:30pm, and remedy the situation by listening to my experience and reimbursing me for my inconvenience. In contrast, mid management told me I was wrong and would send me to collections if I didn't pay the balance, even though he was the one who directly caused me the inconvenience and I was asking for a sliver to cover the costs of the electrical and dump fee. I even got to sit in my office working during the day and overhear the mid manager and the installer talk poorly about me and the job site, whether over the phone or in person. Clearly they didn't know I was in the next room. If you're going to work with this company I suggest working directly with Ty. He even came out the next day and even cleaned up some of the installers work. read more

Absolute Garage Door quoted us $991 we applied for budget from the head office and got approval. when they came on site, the quote went up to $1300. first told our warehouse manager we don't have to pay anything extra, later told me we need to pay 370 extra. Bailey is a nice guy and we trust him. we need it fixed asap so yes, please go ahead and fix it, and allow us some time to apply for more funding. it was a whole new quote and we need a whole new approval for budget and payment. Aaron has since be calling every single day for payment. had to pay with my credit card to stop him from calling. this is not the right way of doing business. so aggressive on the phone. you quoted us wrong and we've been cooperative and understanding. and when we ask you to show a bit patience for us to get approval, you made it sound like it was our fault? The Garage is a bit of a hard space since my place is a 2005 townhouse and it's very compact. The garage door opener they installed in those days was a very bad design and previous contractors had refused to even deal with it. Aaron had a great solution to replace it, even if he had to get a little creative with the motor placement and chain length.
