My family owns a home that needed to be treated for termites and I was the person to open the house for this company while they were away. The appointment is today, but I called on Monday to see what time I needed to be at the house to open it for them. I spoke to Caleb. He told me between 10-3 and that they would better know the time the day before. I couldn't see waiting at the house for 5 hours. Called back on Tuesday and spoke Caleb again and he told me that he would call me back with a better estimated time. It is now 2:30 on the day of the appointment. I called at 2PM and had to leave a message. Still no returned call. I looked through the Yelp reviews and there were customers with appointments! I don't understand the 10-3pm timeline. This company showed me and my family poor customer service! I work two jobs and this company makes me wait around for 5 hours with no communication! Total lack of respect for people's time! Purchased a home recently. By sellers request that the home be tented. Sellers agent kept dropping the ball to bring keys to the property for the lockbox & verify appts pushing back our closing date, dealt with an absolute mess with purchasing the home with that particular sellers agent. They damaged the shingles on my roof during the tenting process and they hold no responsibility for any damages or if anything goes missing at the house. In August 2024 I solicited and received a quote for termite fumigation treatment by Absolute Termite & Pest Control Hawaii. At the initial visit by I pointed out the grade of the roof and the placement of PV and solar water arrays. No concerns were expressed by the assessor. Shortly before the tenting day another representative came for a "walk through" and I, again, pointed out the steepness of the roof and the arrays. Again, no concerns were expressed. On tenting day the roofing crew arrived and we evacuated the house. They began by preparing the inside of the house then locked all the doors then proceeded to climb on to the roof. First one crew member then up to 4 were on the roof. Nothing further happened until after a lunch break when I was put in phone contact with the "office" and informed that the crew considered the roof to steep and unsafe. I argued to no avail that they should have made that decision with the initial inspection and not after we had spent two days preparing the house, finding lodging and traumatizing our cat. As a consolation I was offered a $1500 rebate for a "heat" treatment with a 6 month warranty instead of a 5 year warranty for fumigation. I declined and demanded a full refund. Te next day I call a different company who send out a representative to assure me that they could and would do the job. The job was completed a week later with no difficulties even on a breezy light drizzling day. I do not fault the roofing crew for their decision. The fault lies with the initial assessor who clearly had never been up on a roof and took no measurement of the roof's incline. There appears to be no communication between the assessor and the roofing crew. The consolation prize of "heat treatment" was a pathetic attempt to cover their unprofessional behavior. read more

As we prepared to pour a concrete slab, we knew we needed to have termite treatment done just before the pour. I looked on Yelp to help me find a company to take care of it and decided to have Yelp send a mass request to multiple businesses. There were a couple places on my radar because of star ratings, but what separated Absolute Termite originally was the cost... they were almost half the price of other places! It was so inexpensive, in fact, I almost didn't go with them out of fear of "you get what you pay for." But, my mind was put at ease because of amazing customer service!! All communication was done through Yelp messaging (thanks, Yelp!) and the response time was right on. Plus, we live in an association with so many rules and regulations, but Caleb was very helpful and provided everything they asked for. I have used Absolute Termite & Pest Control for the last few years. Initially I had really amazing service but recently the treatments have not worked well. I found this company through their Yelp reviews a few years ago. I called and spoke to Justin about getting my house treated for roaches and black ants. He quoted me a price range for the initial "clean out". Tomas came and serviced my house and was very prompt and personable. He took a lot of time to treat all the appropriate areas of the initial clean out. The cost was approximately $160. Very reasonable and we had no issues with roaches or ants for approximately 8 to 9 months. Super happy five stars! Tomas came for a follow up treatment which was $87. Again he was very thorough and there were no issues with any bugs for the next six months. The third treatment was with Steven. Tomas had left the company. Steven was very friendly and personable, but he didn't spend as much time treating the house. Also he mentioned that he ran out of his usual treatment so had to use a substitute treatment which would still kill roaches and ants, but would not kill spiders. Unfortunately, I did not notice any change in the bugs after the treatment. I waited two weeks hoping that the treatment would eventually "kick in", but I ended up calling them to ask them to come back to do a follow up treatment. The company does offer a 30 day guarantee and will come back within 30 days to re-treat if you still have a bug problem. They came back and did they re-treatment but there was still no improvement. I decided to give them another try thinking that the last treatment did not work since they used a substitute treatment. This time Jeremiah was the one that came out and serviced my house. Again he gave a quick cursory treatment and was in and out of the house in 15 or 20 minutes. I had to call them back within a week to ask them to re-treat the house again since there was no improvement in the roach problem but despite the re-treatment the bug issue did not improve. I'm not sure what happened. At least one of the treatments they used a different product, although it might have something to do with the quality/time of the treatment as the first two treatments given by Tomas he spent a lot of time and therefore had good results, The others were not as thorough as him and that may have been an issue with the poor quality of the treatment. read more

I requested an appointment for bug spraying (roaches) and they got back to me very quick and set up an appointment. I had an issue with the first spray not really working so the General Manager came back out and re-sprayed and put roach bait. He informed me of what the process should be like as well and said if I still see an issue to give them a call back. The first person who came to spray my apartment for a flea infestation had been unprofessional and not very thorough in his work but as soon as they heard about this incident, management was very kind and offered me a second visit with a more senior exterminator. They were very apologetic and took my complaint seriously. They really need to sort out their back office issues. 05/16/23 - My tenting is scheduled for tomorrow but I have already run into issues questioning my decision to go with them. I found a pile of termite droppings on the floor behind my living room sofa. They might have been sitting there for more than a week; I discovered them when I moved the sofa to vacuum behind it. I could tell they came from somewhere in the wall, but the exit hole was probably plugged at that point, because after some long searching I just couldnʻt find it. I scheduled a visit from Absolute Termite and was not disappointed. Jay arrived right on time. He found the source of the droppings, identified the extent of the colony within the wall, and spot treated it effectively. Initial experience was fantastic. Reached out through Yelp for a quote and received a quick response. Communication was concise and easy to complete paperwork electronically to schedule our initial treatment. Our scheduled appointment time came and went without any communication. Upon nearing the end of our agreed upon window I called and left a voicemail to notify that we did not receive our treatment nor a courtesy call if appointments were backed up. My call was returned promptly and for whatever reason my appointment in their system was scheduled for the following day. The woman I spoke with remembered my situation (purchasing a home and wanted to get initial treatment prior to moving in) and that I had shared that the timing was perfect as I was already having other services scheduled for the same day. She apologized for the hiccup and assured me that the appointment was confirmed, even offering up to change the appointment day if it was an inconvenience. I decided to keep the appointment as she had it in their system for the following day at 12:30pm. At 1:12pm on the day of my new appointment (almost one hour after my scheduled time) I received a call from their office, the same woman who I spoke with each time prior. She explained to me that the tech was having difficulty locating our property and asked for clarification on the address. After confirming and providing some nearby landmarks the story changed to him running behind and our appointment was being pushed to 3:30, 4pm at the latest. I specifically asked that she keep me updated on the time as we were changing our plans for the day to accommodate this. Surprise surprise! 3:30 & 4pm came and went without even a courtesy call. My tenants had complained about cockroaches in my rental unit, a small condo. As a landlord not living in Hawaii, it can be challenging to find trustworthy companies to work with since I'm not there in person to assess issues and often feel taken advantage of because of that. I spoke to a few companies but decided to go with Absolute for a free estimate. They were communicative in scheduling the appointment, and on the day of, the technician Chris called me and explained everything in detail regarding the cockroaches. I decided to go with a one time treatment since he believed that would take care of the cockroaches and we most likely wouldn't need recurring service. He gave me a lower price for a one time service than any other company I had talked to on island. Since my condo is small and the roaches were contained to one area, he didn't charge me the standard rate. I truly appreciated the discount, and that he didn't try to persuade me into a recurring service since it wasn't necessary. Lastly, Chris showed my tenants a hole under the sink where the cockroaches were entering. My tenants were able to patch that on their own easily. Since the traps were baited and set, and the hole patched, my tenants have noticed a significant decrease in cockroaches in just a few days! I recommend Absolute for any pest services on Oahu. We hired Absolute to tent our house for termites and were thankful for the great service. Kai, Bernard and the others were professional, friendly, and knowledgable. They made certain I had everything prepped before starting. Fortunately, it didn't take too long to remove obstacles in order to make a tight seal for the tent. This included scraping gravel down to dirt, dismantling a couple of fence panels, removing gutters, etc. once that was done, the schedule was adhered to and the inspector who monitors the level of fumigant gave us the all clear at exactly the time they estimated. read more

My daughter (Savannah C who also posted a review) has a rat problem in her apartment and contracted with Absolute to have "exclusion" service, meaning the technician would seal all the points of entry he found excluding new rats from coming in. The next appointment was almost two weeks later. The technician sealed two places in the kitchen. The next morning there was obvious evidence that a rat had been in the kitchen: wood shavings from scratching at a cupboard and a wrapped candy bar torn open and eaten. She called Absolute right away and was told they don't do follow-ups (is that a thing to not stand by your work?) but could send a manager the next day. I called the Absolute office to ask if someone could possibly come today - my daughter had been struggling to sleep knowing there was a rat and was crushed when it was still there, after the technician came. The woman, Mari or Amy, was very nice but insisted that the real problem is there must be a rat who was in the apartment when the holes were sealed. Savannah should have taken the trap service. I pushed back that this seemed unlikely - it is a small apartment. Where would a rat be hiding? She said it could be anywhere and this service goes hand in hand with the exclusion. Told that they could send someone out that afternoon, I paid $250 for the trap service. Technician #2 came out and talked with my daughter about where the rat could be hiding so a trap could be placed nearby. He looked in her closet - and found a possible point of entry that had been missed by technician #1! Unfortunately, he said he did not have the necessary tools to fix the space himself. He called the office and asked that they not charge me for the traps and the response was that "the mom was already charged." #1 I shouldn't have been charged until the work was done, #2 the fact that I'd paid isn't a reason not to give me a refund when circumstances changed. Savannah called the office again and was told there was nothing more they could do for her. She left her review on Yelp and they doubled down on not being able to do anything more. I called on Sat (today, about an hour ago because I've been typing this) and gave a brief recap, then explained that the reason I paid for the traps was because Mari/Amy insisted that the ONLY reason there was still a rat in the kitchen was because it was trapped in her apartment with all the points of access sealed. ALL THE POINTS OF ACCESS SEALED. My requests were simple: 1) send someone out to Savannah's asap to seal up the third hole their own person found and make sure there aren't any others. 2) refund my money for the trap service. I wouldn't have gotten trap service if it was possible there was at least one point of entry left unsealed. I had to call Absolute four times because 1) there was suddenly silence on the other end, 2) the line disconnected while we were talking, 3) a different woman answered, Mari wouldn't get back on the line with me, heard me out and said that all seemed reasonable. Then gave me the name and phone number (which I did not ask for) of the owner, Justin Duny. I asked if was available on Saturday and would he answer the phone - she said yes. He answered the phone then as I started to explain who I was, he handed the phone to a person who identified herself and his f--ing wife. She asked why I was calling his f--ing family on their f--ing personal phone. "How do you think? Your office gave me this number and told me to call you." That got her "infuriurated". She told me she knew all about the f--ing situation and bla bla did their f--ing service and they aren't doing anything more. She heard my f--ing conversation with the office. The f--ing Yelp review that f--ing c--t (my daughter) posted was slander and she will f--ing deal with her. She has f--ing screen shots of f--ing texts about that f--ing c--t not taking the additional services. How f--ing stupid are we. How dare I f--ing disturb them with this. They are the owners and don't have to do anything. I tried to interupt with no luck so I'm not sure why she ended her speech by calling me a f--ing c--nt, but she did. All Savannah and I are asking for is a technician to come back and seal up the missed hole that was found, and to refund me for the six-month trap service I wouldn't have taken if I'd known they hadn't completed the job the day before. Savannah isn't trying to not pay for the exclusion service. Any reputable company would say, "I'm so sorry. Of course." As for the owner - maybe don't have the office give your name and phone number if you are only going to hand the phone to your "infuriurated" wife, to make a super embarrassing, manic, potty mouthed tirade. For anyone with thoughts on a mom jumping in on this, whether you are a sister, best friend, or mom when someone you love is struggling with anxiety and being treated badly you do what you can to help them. read more

It was terrible! If I could give zero stars I would. Brian came over multiple times and said it would be find. They even took pictures of the roof and said it would be fine. We started booking a hotel stay and boarded the animals. We had to bag everything up and worked our butts off. Then on the day of they arrived late and said they couldn't do it. Which upset everybody because we had spent so much work and money. Even after they said we need to open our windows for ventilation if they did the tent. We were looking for a company to do termite treatment prior to installing concrete per our association requirements and got many quotes online. Absolute termite and pest control responded quickly and with the best price too! We do not currently have termites so just going through the process to get an approval, we weren't looking to spend a lot on top of the work we were already planning to do. Caleb got us an appointment exactly when we needed, took my information and we were set for 730 on Monday morning. The worker came on time and it was done within a half hour. The price was exactly what was quoted through yelp and we should be receiving our receipt through email. It was a painless and affordable process. Absolute Termite & Pest Control had the best quote for our retired budget so we went with them. I'm glad we did as not only were they budget friendly, but the workers were all very courteous and friendly too! We had a few questions before the fumigation date. I am a firm believer in leaving a place equal to or better condition than when you first got there. I did not get that assurance from the fumigation team. At the end of the fumigation, after all the tenting was removed, my tenant found: 1 - White gravel from the yard scattered in the cul-de-sac, like you would find if you dragged the tenting material across the yard and folded it in the street. My tenant had to sweep up the gravel and place it back into the yard. 2 - The dragging process also damaged the edging material (dragged over the edging material) that was holding the white gravel from spilling into the sidewalk. My tenant had to fix the edging. 3 - The hose that was coiled up and placed out of they way before they came, was found hooked up and laying around. My tenant had to recoil the hose and cleanup the gravel. 4 - A broken bottom glass pane from the louvered windows. My tenant had to repair the broken pane of glass. Related to the fumigation scheduling, 1 - Originally scheduled for 12 pm, Friday, 10/14. Got a call on Thursday that the team was coming out between 8 - 9 am Friday. My tenant had already rescheduled all his appointments so that he could be home at 12 pm. This caused him to cancel and / or reschedule those very same appointments so he could be home earlier. Only to find that the fumigation team not arrive as told be came in at 1:45 pm. They said that they normally work first to remove tenting before putting tenting up. Regardless of the reason, the impact of this error in scheduling and coordination within Absolute Termite caused hardship for my tenant and I. This caused such a hardship to my tenant's and my own schedule for the day. The ground treatment on Thursday, 10/20 was accomplished without any reportable condition. Over the past few weeks we've had a few ants in our bathrooms, but last night we had a TERRIBLE infestation in our kitchen! I found Absolute through yelp and they had terrific reviews. I messaged them last night at MIDNIGHT and got an answer back before they were even officially open for the day. This in itself was pretty amazing. Also amazing was we actually got an appointment for TODAY, and Daniel came out to survey the ant trails. He treated all the cabinets all the while explaining what to look for and where the ants were probably coming from. He explained what we can do to keep roaches from coming into our house for the most part, and did a really thorough job looking inside and all around the outside of the house seeing where ants were coming in. He's coming back this afternoon to spray the outside but there's already a huge difference inside the house. He even made sure not to spray anything indoors because of our little (but very nosy) puppy. Good price, friendly amazing service. Absolute Worst Pest Non Control We spent $200 to get rid German cockroaches. They told us they could do the job. First technician came and sprayed. Absolutely no change. Actually worse. We called to get another treatment same technician came back a few days later saying that they finally got the "good stuff in" and that the stuff they used the first time was probably " no good" after all the work we did to clear out everything in our kitchen. He sprayed again. Did nothing. We called again and then the boss came with the technician. They showed up an hour early and we told him we were not ready as we wanted to empty out everything again and we're in the middle of it. They came in anyway and started spraying right on top of our dishes even though we asked them not to. We kept saying that we still have roaches, we took our oven and dishwasher outside. The spray they used killed on contact but did nothing else. The cockroaches are back and worse than ever. We could not get our money back, waste of time expensive lesson read more
