They have lots of dogs, cats and occasional some other critters and even though it's not an exceptionally large building, they usually have a good selection so you can find your proper companion. The people working there obviously are devoted to the residents and will patiently show you around and let you interact with potential friends. No hurry or rush so you can just relax and see what happens. Valley Shore survives mainly on contributions and fund raising and has found families for a large number of residents so if you are looking for that special friend to share your life this might be a great place to look.

A month passed and no one came for the cats and no one help them that's why I feed them I been trying my best to get them homes but a 18 year old who is in college can't do much I don't have the money to take them to the vet is 10 cats in total and they are all friendly they were indoor/ outdoor cats before the lady next door got kick out and this shelter just acted dismissive about the entire situation and saying "they don't take cats from the street" then why are they a shelter? I understand that they are full but they could've said it nicer they could've given me other organizations that could help me they could've have acted at least a little concerned because if they are a shelter they are supposed to help animals and love animals not just speak like they are a thing you can just throw out and leave hungry if I was a bad person I would've left the cats go hungry and let them get ran over because there is a highway near by but I'm not I'm really trying to help these animals and instead of getting help I was judge and treated like shit to the point after the called I wanted to cry of how no one is helping me instead they judge me so hard and basically implied it was my fault that the cats are there and that now I have to take responsibility I'm aware that I feed them and now they are my responsibility but they could've help and give me options not absolutely be shitty towards a person who did nth but feed cats that were left there to die for a month straight I saw them go from some chubby cute cats to literally bones. It's a gorgeous spot, with plenty of animals to see and engage with, and if you're not careful, you may get a pig who smears mud all over your butt. That's really part of the charm though, and mud washes off. The folks that own and work here are super nice in my experience (shout out to the director who had the exact same shoes as my four year old - in a different size). They make it a fun and educational experience for everyone, but especially little kids. As a general warning though, they make a harder push for veganism than you might expect coming in, so if that sort of pressure isn't your thing, you may want to avoid the walking tours.
