I adopted a puppy from Save All Dogs Rescue. They told me she had kennel cough but that I could pay…read morethe adoption fee and leave her there while she was treated for the cough. The vet only comes on Tuesdays so I waited and was told she was not cleared to come home. This happened three more times, so I had paid for a puppy but didn't get to bring her home for an entire month. She was finally cleared by their vet so I brought her home. She was still coughing. After a week I called my own vet who was able to see her quickly. They said she had pneumonia and I needed to bring her to the Emergency Vet right away. The ER vet told me if I hadn't brought her in she would have likely died. I know someone else who adopted a puppy from them and their puppy also had kennel cough which ended up with pneumonia. In my opinion Save All Dogs rescue is nothing but a puppy mill. They charge an exorbitant fee for puppies that aren't spayed/neutered or even healthy. They just want your money and have vets that will sign off saying the pups are healthy when in fact they are not. If you are going to get a puppy please do not go here. It'll end up costing you thousands in addition to the adoption fee. Go to a local shelter or legitimate rescue that adopts healthy puppies.

They have lots of dogs, cats and occasional some other critters and even though it's not an exceptionally large building, they usually have a good selection so you can find your proper companion. The people working there obviously are devoted to the residents and will patiently show you around and let you interact with potential friends. No hurry or rush so you can just relax and see what happens. Valley Shore survives mainly on contributions and fund raising and has found families for a large number of residents so if you are looking for that special friend to share your life this might be a great place to look.

I do understand that much of the staffing is done on a volunteer basis but they ought to be more careful. They did send an email with 10 attachments. One explained that you should keep your animals separated until the new one is checked out... seems odd since they encourage them to meet on adoption day but whatever... They make it a fun and educational experience for everyone, but especially little kids. As a general warning though, they make a harder push for veganism than you might expect coming in, so if that sort of pressure isn't your thing, you may want to avoid the walking tours.
