When you identify a problem...like having kids go inside their underwear waist...searching kids..no safety in this.. females doing searches on males..with no male present.. teachers having melt downs in their classrooms taking it out on children thru retaliation in grades, emails which are toxic coming from educators...The unfortunate thing is this school operates in dysfunction total chaos. Unable to articulate their own handbook..everything that looks gold ain't gold. A hall aide told me to shush when I was going to speak up about their outrageous unclear rules and directions. I paused and said to myself be quiet in astonishment...absolutely Not! I will call out every wrong intent or action. Nevertheless the uniform is the only nice thing. Its can be expensive for some. It doesn't actually match the school academics/substance. Parents save yourself the hassle and kids find a school that practice what they preach. Which have qualified teachers and administrators. Anyone can open a school...and not be an educator. I disapprove of this charter school 100%

Principal Gerry Born is the best principal ever! Very attentive and very engaging with both teachers, students and parents. The teachers are spectacular! They really care about educating the children. They make sure they make it a fun environment, so the children feel at ease. Making it easier for them to learn new information. This school seems very advanced and up to date with their teachings and their technology. Since attending this school, I've noticed my child is a bit more advanced on the academic side compared to her other peers that go to regular in person public schools. Nothing against public schools, this school just works out for us as a family. This school uses real life scenarios in their quarterly projects. For example, they need to research about their dream vacation and how much it cost in real time and create a budget, etc. Surprisingly, as parents, after realizing her dream vacation was definitely more doable budget wise, we were able to actually take her on that dream vacation in less than a year's time. It not only teaches the students, but every assignment and project teaches us as parents as well. We highly recommend this charter school.

I must also mention the speech teacher, Ms. DiGiambattista; she worked with him at every grade level and he was released/graduated from his IEP later in the year, 5th grade. Thank You to her, as well. Mr. O'Sullivan introduced Ukelele Club to the school, and we attended the concert this past tuesday morning. Thanks to him. I must also mention the Librarian, Ms. Witalka, for her years of service. She assists students with the Book Fairs, which seemed to be a bit more frequent than in my day (twice a year). Today was the fifth grade Promotion ceremony. After hearing all of the speeches, I was getting reminded that our son has been attending this school since Kindergarten, with Mrs. Cox, so for six years, our son has been here, and it is bittersweet (he is moving on to middle school). I am so glad that we moved to the area, and enrolled him into this school. He had so many good teachers! I want to give everyone Kudos here! (Not many people know me, they know my husband more, since he is the day to day go-to parent. But I really want to express our gratitude for your contribution in shaping young minds. The teaching culture is very strong here.) Ms. Johnson, our son's fifth grade teacher, was phenomenal, incorporating fun into her lessons. Her classroom's theme was Star Wars. She had some challenges but she worked through all of them and really put her heart and soul into teaching. She promised the class if they all made an improvement, a goal that they'd work towards, that she'd reward them with a Panda Express Party. This was with her own money. We really appreciate her. This year also had two field trips, to their possible middle school, Lawrence, and to the Smith Center, to see a presentation. I will also mention the Fun Run and Olympics Field Day (the classes represented a country, like Sri Lanka), that was fun to see. I am lucky that hubby has taken lots of video, so we can remember these moments, to relive them, so to speak. Also, his pictures for the Raiders Camp were used in the Yearbook. Again, we express our sincere gratitude to all of you there at Roger M. Bryan who impacted our son's life in a positive way. Many many thanks to you!

My daughter did not enjoy this school because staff and teachers were very rude to her, and she came home everyday with something new to complain about. My daughter was bullied the whole year this year nonstop. She took yearbook photos and as I was looking at her and her class I seemed to notice that everyone's picture was bright and colorful while hers is dark and grey and dull. From my first contact with the staff and administration, you could tell this place was about providing a nurturing and excellent environment to the children. This school really does foster diversity. It's not just words that are used in advertisement. They foster those values in the classroom and everyone is made to feel included in all they do. In short, they practice what they preach. The academics are excellent. I'm a believer in giving children a balanced learning environment. Hundreds of hours of homework does not make a child enjoy learning. I like that there is work time and play time appropriate for the age. And honestly, at these grade levels, too much homework equates to extra work for the parents. This school chooses an appropriate amount of work for each grade level. My son has thrived since moving to this school. FLA has been a true blessing to our family. I'm so happy we found this school and I'm forever grateful to all the teachers and administrative staff. My son once again has a love for school.

We are happy with the school and staff. Coming from the over-crowded, over-stretched public school system, we are relieved to see our children accepted and not just doing well, but thriving. The upper campus kids especially love the block scheduling, as they are able to truly get some valuable class time in each subject. The homework is a perfect blend of rehashing the days learning and getting prepared for the exams. The teachers actually get to know the kids since class size is never a problem. My 4th grader loves his teacher, and with that comes respect and a desire to be the best student he can become. And being a Christian school, the true focus is on a rounded and grounded Cristian education. As with all schools, there are mistakes that have been made, and there are the occasional small problem. But the difference is that the staff and leadership truly will try to correct them. A parent is always welcome to speak with any of the staff, and the superintendent holds monthly meetings where anyone can come and voice concern or praise. What more could a parent want?

This school is not what it used to be. Over the last several years, programs and athletics have…read moresteadily declined while leadership priorities seem increasingly disconnected from what families are paying for. One major concern is that the school often relies on parent volunteers instead of hiring experienced, qualified coaches and staff, while at the same time cutting programs and resources for students. It's frustrating watching tuition costs remain high while equipment, opportunities, and overall program quality continue to suffer. The increasing church influence has also significantly changed the atmosphere of the school. Many families, myself included, have questioned the decision to place so much authority and financial responsibility in the hands of individuals like Fred, whose background and past business dealings have raised concerns within the community. What was especially upsetting was the abrupt closure of the high school, which left many parents scrambling to figure out where to place their children with very little notice or support. Shortly afterward, the church immediately took over the former high school classrooms, which only reinforced what many families had already been fearing -- that the long-term priority was shifting away from education and toward church expansion onto the school property. At the same time, several critical administrative positions have either been eliminated or consolidated, placing even more pressure and responsibility on the few staff members still trying to hold everything together. Morale appears low, turnover has increased, and the overall structure feels increasingly unstable. Many parents stayed because they believed the promises being made, but over time the disconnect between those promises and reality became difficult to ignore. Sadly, the focus no longer seems to be centered on the students, and the school now feels like a system barely holding itself together.
