I really wanted to like Abu Omar Halal, but my experience was not good. I ordered the chicken shawarma, and it was very dry and tasted awful. It's just chicken, pickles, sauce, and bread. They are expensive, and you receive a small portion, which is not good for what you pay. They also charge 75 cents for additional sauce, which is unnecessary. We bought four shawarmas and received only three sauces. My brother asked for one more from the employee, and he refused, which was frustrating. It just doesn't make sense to serve three sauces with four shawarmas. My brother went so far as to offer payment for it, but by then it was a matter of principle. Arguing over a little sauce so we could fully enjoy our meal shouldn't be part of eating out. I am strongly opposed to any restaurant that is going to charge extra for sauces, particularly when the actual meal itself is mid at best. The shawarmas were a disappointment and literally a joke considering how much they cost. There are definitely better places around here like Shawarma Loca and Desert Moon Grill. Try those instead before visiting. The only good thing is that they stay open late, which is good for a late-night bite. read more

The place is clean, there's decent seating, and the menu is well thought out with a decent amount of mix and match options. The Bad: It took just short of 40 minutes for our order, folk came and went after us (no exaggeration). If an order is going to take that long it would be ideal if the staff gave us a heads up and/or just a bit of update along the way. If you plan to try this place I'd highly recommend that you order it ahead of time and take your time driving over. That said though, the food was good, but I'd be worried to try and eat here for lunch or any situation where you may be on a timeline. ;) read more
