We haven't been year for years so we ended up ordering more than what 3 adults and 2 kids could handle. The price point per dish was fair for the portion size you receive. Everything came out delicious. Stand out items for me was the lamb stew noodles. Generous meat portions and good quality lamb. So soft and delicious. Great flavor on the soup. We used it to dip our green onion pie. Tasted like an Asian version of "consume" that normally comes with your birria tacos. Also, the green onion lamb. Doesn't beat my favorite chinese spot in Diamond Bar, but I felt good eating here and definitely plan on revisiting. This visit was for a group lunch, we all ordered off the lunch specials menu. Plates contain decent proportions, enough to share with at least one or two others. Beef with broccoli: Classic and excellent mix. Dressed perfectly, damn near perfect taste every bite. Orange chicken: Would definitely take the cake as one of the best, but I feel some pieces of the chicken could have been prepared better for the crisp feel we all seek. Chicken fried rice: The rice looked dry AF but ended up being pretty good. I just wish the chicken pieces were cut smaller. Beef dumplings: A favorite choice for most. The flavor with texture mix did not hit home for me though. I failed at getting any photos of our food, but they all looked heavily appealing once delivered (minus the dry looking rice). This is my go-to Chinese restaurant. The menu is extensive so there is plenty to choose from. However, there are some items that are very similar to each other (e.g. same sauce, same flavor, just different protein) so make sure you ask the staff or refer to the picture menu. Otherwise, the food is always fresh and delicious. This is also an Islamic spot so the food is halal -- an important distinction from your typical Chinese restaurant. I ordered their Three Flavor Sizzling Rice Soup for starters. Nice piping hot on a rainy day. Highly recommended! Today, I also had the House Special Beef. The beef was thinly sliced and drizzled with thin teriyaki (?) sauce, and presented on a bed of steamed broccoli. Also highly recommended. They have lunch specials daily, including weekends, that includes egg rolls, soup, rice and main entree. The jasmine tea is one of the best -- very aromatic. Just make sure you give it enough time to steep. The staff is friendly and attentive, and gives input on the food items you choose. The place is clean, with the decor unmistakably Islamic. There is ample parking on both sides of the restaurant. Note that the restaurant closes at 3 PM and reopens promptly at 4:30 PM. read more

LONG VERSION: I have been going to Mas since 2012 and I have been at least 50 times - it is the original and still overall the best halal Chinese food restaurant I've been to across the country. After trying almost all of their items on the menu through the years, almost everything has been delicious - there was a dip in quality about 5-6 years ago but it has been consistently excellent for the last 5 years that I've been going. My personal favorite and go to items are: 1) chicken corn soup 2) orange chicken 3) garlic jalapeño chicken 4) filet mignon beef, 5) Mongolian beef 6) sole fish filet with spicy black bean sauce 7) honey walnut shrimp 8) home style thick chow mein noodles 9) green beans or cabbage with mushrooms. The restaurant is not super fancy but has fast service and there's big tables making it ideal for large family gatherings which we have had there many times. Prices are decent and they do give pretty good amount of food per order. A bit of advice to the manager so you can train your servers better: When a customer makes comments about the food hoping for improvement, all the server has to say is that she will let the kitchen know, and apologize if the customer is not satisfied with the food. Then there might be a chance for return business. But if the server did the opposite by saying "that's the way we usually do it.", she is basically saying that the customer doesn't know what he is talking about. I will say that I have had inconsistent experiences with the dishes being good some days and being sub par other days. They are fairly priced and have good portions for sharing. This location has ample parking and seating inside. I will say that sometimes service is slow to get drinks/water, which I have consistently noticed. Found this place after searching for Chinese food in an area surrounded by Korean food. Pretty random location and I almost missed the turn into the parking lot. Plenty of parking when I went on a Monday at lunch but maybe it fills up a bit more in the evenings or weekends. Staff was friendly and helpful and their decor in the main lobby goes hard. I make rice at home so just wanted to pick up 2 dishes to eat with it. I was reading through their online menu and saw they had a relatively good lunch deal for $13.99+ depending on which dish you get. I got the shredded chicken which comes with some vegetables as well as an egg roll and that was $13.99. Additionally picked up 2 other pretty authentic dishes for about $15 each that tasted great and came with large portions. They have a lot of other items on their menu and I'm sure patrons can easily find something suitable to their tastes. My favorite place for lamb and Chinese sesame pancakes! If you like lamb dishes, this is the place to go! Eg. Stir-fried lamb with cumin and lamb picked cabbage warm pot. Also you can't go wrong with their thick and thin (my preference is the thick version) sesame pancakes. It does serve other typical Chinese restaurant style dishes as well like orange chicken, etc. However my recommendation is always try something different as it is a Chinese I halal restaurant after all (eg. I used to love this place pre covid, but something happened during covid where the staff turn over changed and service went to Jahannam. This place had an issue with their credit card machine and forced me to pay for my to go order with cash (I didn't have that much cash on hand so they told me to use Zelle). I had the front desk lady give me the details on paper and had her confirm each step of the way as it asked for info about the phone number and name. She looked at each one and then said yes all of it was correct. I made the payment for over $200 and after a while of waiting nothing happened. Several other zelle payments from customer went thru after mine so it seemed odd. I checked with the lady again (because it was the workers number and info) and she then told me the last digit was wrong. I loudly said at the front "Are you serious? You gave me the wrong number to zelle!". She then held the order and forced me to go get cash from the local BofA for my order and told me to call the bank to cancel it. I told her Zelle doesn't work that way... once it is sent and YOU confirmed the name and phone number (which she did by looking at it on my phone)... the money is gone. I got the cash from the ATM and by the time I drove back the credit card machine was working so I paid with my AMEX. Spent hours on the phone with BofA and nothing they could help me on it. I contacted the owner and they basically told me to go pound sand... so I have stopped going to this place for a couple years now. That was a very Harami move by the employee and the owner to screw a fellow muslim like this!!!! I've been to the original place in the 1980's when it was in LA, I've been to the one in Rowland heights area in the 1990's and been going to this location since 2016... they have lost me and my family as a dedicated customer who supports halal restaurants, forever. I will not offer them even a penny because of how they poorly treated me as a dedicated customer. I have yet to try something here that I don't like. Their soups are great! The tables have lazy-Susans. The staff is impressive - they were buzzing all over the place like hummingbirds. It's been a minute since I've been to Ma's House, and as always I was not disappointed. My party of 4 was immediately seated despite it being pretty busy on a Sunday afternoon. We immediately ordered our favorite dishes, including the Kung Pao Chicken, Mongolian Beef, and Shredded Chicken with Spicy Sauce. Despite service being pretty slow (think they have 2 servers for the entire restaurant) our food eventually arrived piping hot. The chicken corn soup was as flavorful as always; I recommend adding some soy sauce or chili oil for extra flavor. The egg rolls (which took the longest to come out - even longer than the main dishes) were alright. The Kung Pao was absolutely delicious, nice and sweet with a crispy exterior. Portions were also very generous. The Mongolian beef was nice and tender. The shredded chicken was not too bad, but it was a little heavy on the vegetables. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience. My only qualms was that you have to pay for oolong tea now, the service was a little slow, and the whole restaurant filled with smoke twice when people ordered something that came on a sizzling skillet. read more

I remember coming here many many years ago as a kid and was happily surprised that it was still open! It's family friendly and good for large parties, but the service is a bit slow. It looks the same as it did ages ago, so it doesn't feel like the cleanest of places. Our waitress spoke Mandarin and surprisingly also Cantonese. If you know what to order, the food is really good. Since it's been so long since we've been here, we had a few hits and a few misses. We should have asked for recommendations. Once we got a chance to order, the food came out relatively fast. The hits were: sesame pancake, sizzling beef platter, and hot and sour soup. The first two really complemented each other. The misses were the fried chicken because it was small and the meat was dry, and the assorted warm pot.
