Abyss Marketplace & Liquor is a convenient, fast stop for the local neighborhood. Whether you need a quick snack, a meal, liquor, or cigarettes, they cover the essentials well. While they have a solid variety of drinks, I stopped in specifically for the frozen yogurt this time. The froyo is definitely on the pricier side, and they don't offer sample cups. However, the staff was very polite--the man behind the counter was kind enough to let us try the flavors using a plastic spoon. The Chocolate, Coffee and Plain Tart were the standouts for me. I ended up with a small cup topped with brownie bites, cookie dough, and toffee. The topping station could use some work; the caramel sauce was completely out, there was no fresh fruit, and the overall selection was limited. If they put a bit more effort into restocking and expanding the toppings, the experience would be even better. That said, it really hit the spot for a quick sweet treat. They also seem to make sandwiches and sushi that look great, so I'll likely head back to try those soon. I have been here few times in the past, but not in a very long time. I made a trip down there this morning and as I walked in, I felt this great energy by Lucky and the staff. Service was on point and helpful. Chill vibe with good energy. They have wine and other types of spirits. Cheap beers from $1.00 to $3.00. I didn't get any alcohol but got me a frozen yogurt that was soothing and refreshing. Vanilla flavor. It truly is a good store with clean aisles. Everything is fully, nicely stocked. Next time I will come try their sandwiches. Saw this one man eating it, and it literally opened up my appetite. Since it was still early in the morning, I stayed with a cookie and my Fro-Yo. I was in the area to pick up food from the cafe inside this store and while I was waiting for my food to be ready I took a walk through all the aisles to check it out. They have a plethora of fun snacks and all the good chips. If you're looking for beverages and cocktails they have tons to choose from, I even saw some bins full of beer labeled $1 beer and $2 beer. Behind the register is a large wall of the liquors and there's quite a selection. Staff is really friendly and if you do buy any food from the cafe inside then you pay at the Abyss register as well. read more

Fro-yo girl here. Abyss Market was known as Fast Stop Mini Market. Late last year, they changed the name to Abyss Market and they've been transforming into a food destination. I'm not sure if ownership also changed. Abyss Market added the Black Rabbit Café late last year. Then, "the dopest liquor store in North Hollywood," added self-serve froyo in February 2022. The froyo and toppings are certified kosher, with two Cholov Yisroel flavors from Klein's and the other 8 kosher flavors from Dannon YoCream. Froyo flavors of the day: * Klein's chocolate * Klein's vanilla: impressively thick and creamy, like ice cream, mild vanilla flavor * Cookies n' cream * Cotton candy * Strawberry * Stok coffee gelato * Dulce de leche * Original tart * Pomegranate raspberry sorbet * Watermelon sorbet The toppings bar was small and did not include any fresh fruit. For toppings they had candy, nuts, cereal, cookies, sprinkles, and chocolate chips. But for a liquor store froyo set up, it was very clean. The toppings were covered and labeled. They even provided gloves. It's 70 cents an ounce, more expensive than average but everything is kosher. This place is a lot more than a convenience store, It's a friendly, well-stocked and well-staffed specialty store. They have EVERYTHING from top shelf liquor to frozen yogurt to amazing sandwiches. I've lived in N Hollywood for many years and this is the closest I've found to the old corner stores of my youth growing up in New York. It's got the feel of a community. I have been going to this mini market for years, and I am so inspired to see how the owner just keeps making it better. It's has a deli that is amazing, frozen yogurt, a great wine/liquor/sake selection, plus all the essentials when I don't want to make a trip to a major store. It's a liquor store that hold's your packages. Have been here a couple time to pick up my packages that were missed. The staff is friendly and efficient. They make sure to take all the right measures to ensure they are handing out packages to the correct person. This is a great liquor store with a great selection and non the less a nice crew that works here. For me it is convenient since I live near by but the location of this market is perfect since there are other establishments that are close to it. **UPS ACCESS POINT REVIEW** I'm surprised no one has posted any reviews after having this baffling unpleasant experience I had this afternoon. Normally wouldn't review a quick mart type of store, but if you are going to give customer service like what I experienced today, this is well deserving. Apparently UPS has a new system where if you miss your delivery they will send it to an access point location. And this is what lead me here. ***AVOID HAVING YOUR PACKAGE DELIVERED HERE IF YOU ARE GIVEN THE OPTION*** Here is a little break down to the build up of my anger and reason for this review. 1. I showed the clerk my ID to retrieve my package, but he refused to believe it was me. So that was really annoying having to defend my identification. 2. Secondly, the guy could not find my package. Say what? Although he was helping me, he stopped because "paying customers come first." So he tries again and really can't find my package. So I track my package on my phone and it lets me know that it is at this location. I walk back inside and he is explaining to me that my package is not there. I kindly asked if I could check the packages myself...and so I do just that. I know I shouldn't have stepped behind the counter, but I knew this man was incompetent and not doing his job accurately. Sure enough I find my package RIGHT ON TOP. 3.THEN HE WOULD NOT LET ME TAKE MY PACKAGE. He said that my package was delivered 13 days ago and it had to be sent back. Untrue. He just pointed to some marking on the box with a 13 and made up that excuse because he didn't know how to explain in words why he couldn't give me my package. My Tracking stated it was delivered 2/9 and I had 7 days to retrieve it. Today was the 7th business day and considering it was 3:30pm I would think that that would still mean today is my last day to pick-up. But no. He won't give me my package. Great timing for me because the UPS delivery guy came in and was like "why won't you giver her her package?" and all the sudden became friendly and didn't have anything to say in his defense. At this point I was livid. He wasted 30 minutes of my time for what??? He brings my package to me and point to the name and says "Is this you?" -______- At this point i'm just pleading for my package. He stops helping me and walks over to his sink to blow snot out of his nose *barf*. Then walks back over and has me sign off for the package and lets me leave. THANK effing god. Worst experience ever!!!! I was so mad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know this is irrelevant to real life issues, but this man is vile and does not deserve to be given business. I'm in the process of filing a complaint with UPS over the way that the old man with the curly mustache treated me. He is unbelievably rude. UPS left a slip on my door and the website told me that this would be my pickup point and the package had been delivered at 10:30 am. I came in at 4pm today and gave him the slip. The slip only had the apartment number on it (no name). This small issue threw a huge monkey wrench in his entire process of checking packages in his store. Why, do you ask? Because his whole system is a cheap old dollar store notebook consisting of dates, names and apartment numbers. He couldn't find my name in the notebook so he told me it's not there. I said "Can you check the tracking number?" He told me no and handed me the notebook. He said, "Look, it's not in there. We don't have it." I saw that there were a couple of people in line and I was getting nowhere, so I stepped aside and let them go. I got on my phone and navigated through the UPS website trying to get more info. That's when one of the women who was in line came over in the hopes of putting my worries at ease. She told me that sometimes UPS claims that they have dropped off a package, but they actually haven't . We talked for a couple of minutes and she left. I'm pretty sure that this whole calm conversation agitated the hell out of him cuz as soon as she left, the man began yelling at me. "I tell you five times, but you don't listen!!!" He said a couple more things angrily, slammed the notebook down and stormed off to go wander around in the aisles (aka to get away from me). I'm sorry that your system from 1975 doesn't work for you, buddy. Maybe you should try getting with the times. People have been using tracking numbers for over 30 years now. I called UPS and asked the guy on the phone how someone like this comes to run a pick-up/drop-off point for them. He said that the store owners contact them to set it up. I will be linking UPS to this page in the hopes of putting a stop to this jerk's business with them. If anyone else has an issue with him, please don't hesitate to contact them ASAP. read more

Avoid at all costs! if you are unfortunate enough to have a UPS package sent here, you will have to deal with this unorganized POS running the place. He is rude, uneducated, and barely speaks English! When I asked about my UPS package, he asked for my ID which I provided, he then starts helping some guy asking for glue, and rings him up while I'm waiting to find out about my package. He then he pulled out a 150 page notebook from the 99 cent store with handwritten names and notes & he's showing me the list of names which I can barely read anyway & I asked what I'm looking at & he rudely closes the book & ignores me from that point on. I went to this neighborhood store because it was convenient and fast. I disliked the flirtatious attention paid to me by the taller attendant with a turban and a mustache, but he was not the only attendant so I would still go in once in awhile. I was surprised recently when the shorter attendant with a turban suddenly grabbed my hand and came on to me. I wear very dark sunglasses and make no eye contact. What nerve! The worst experience ever, do not get your UPS delivered to this location, you will go through hell to get your package. I went there once he said "next day not here" then threw me my ID. He was very rude, luckily I live right around the corner and I printed out the ups confirmation page saying that it was at this location and went back. He continues to tell me that it's not there as he looks through his notebook. I got really annoyed considering he had packages right behind him and was resistant to check while there weren't any customers in the store. So I ended up calling ups in his store speaking to a representative and telling them that he wouldn't give me my package!! They called his business phone and told him he needed to find my package. Ups ended up filing a compalint I changed where my packages get sent when I am not home to receive them on the ups website so I will never have to deal with this asshole ever again. They are not deserve even a half star! The customer service there is horrible!!! First, they are charging fee for debit or credit which is against the law, and when the guy told her that this is illegal (a woman name Narish) she started to argue with him claiming that she can't and don't know why to, and that they do that all the time and that it is fine, which is not! And only when he told her that he will take his things and will complain she changed it - after she said she can't! Second thing, I came to pick up a ups package for my friend and since she couldn't give it to me (which is fine - that I understand) she wanted to ask her boss so she ask for my id and just hold it and gave service for another people while I am waiting and don't know even why I am waiting. And when I noticed that she continued helping others ignoring me, I asked her to finish with me first so she told me she needs to call her boss - so I asked her to do it cause I was first!!!
