Red Maple in Toluca Lake has that classic old school cafe feel with warm wood tones simple decor and a cozy neighborhood vibe that feels timeless. The space is inviting without trying too hard and it works perfectly for a solid breakfast. Service from Anna and Rachel was outstanding. They were quick friendly and kept everything running smoothly from the moment we sat down. Felt like genuine hospitality rather than rushed table turns. We ordered the brisket and egg burritos French toast and a flavored latte with oat milk. The food overall hit the mark and the coffee was solid. The only small note is the brisket burrito could use a bit more meat. It still tasted good but felt a little light on the filling for the price. Everything else was on point and the portions elsewhere were fair. Would happily come back. Great spot with strong service and a comfortable old school atmosphere that makes it easy to linger. Highly recommend for anyone in the Toluca Lake area looking for a reliable cafe experience.

Ordered the power brunch and little girl ordered sides of mac and cheese and fries. Great quality food, validated parking in the back and the foam art lattes are a stand out here. Family friendly, fast and reasonable prices. Check out this place if you are in the mood for good food and big portions.

I did not know this place existed. We came went in for breakfast this morning for my friend's birthday. The place was busy, especially for a weekday, but we were seated right away. It is small but is also cozy and big enough to accommodate a few parties at once. It is a restaurant but also diner style, as they have a bar that resembles an old-school diner and it serves both alcohol and coffee. Servers were amazing from the beginning; we were helped right away, our drinks came fast, and us being picky eaters were helped and accommodated to our requests for our food. I got the traditional breakfast and I don't like sautéed breakfast potatoes, so they fixed it how I like it for me. My friends had their own requests and were fixed up their way. We were constantly being checked on by multiple servers, not just ours, unlike most restaurants, which is a great experience compared to others. Food was great; my meal was basic but delicious. Eggs were good and toast was great. My potatoes tasted really good even if they were not made their way. I also got an iced americano to drink because, yeah, why not? Overall we received great service, and the food was really good. I can't wait for my next meal here.

Had a fab brunch here last Sunday. As you can imagine, it was packed. Check in with the host to get on the list - - they will send you a text when your table is ready. And maybe don't believe them when they say 25 minute wait ;) We wandered over to a farmers market and I missed their message. Ugh! My bad. But they worked some magic and got us a table. Thank you!! Tables inside and out. Service was almost too good. We're used to that chill Portland vibe. People here were checking in on us non-stop. Our meal was so yummy. It can be difficult to find a gluten-free, dairy-free, egg-free breakfast but they had it - - and I loved it. They also had plenty of traditional delicious breakfast food. Everyone at the table left happy, satisfied and full. Bathroom past the counter. There's a parking lot out back that they validate for but we found street parking close by.

    * Amazing customer service * Delicious food * Validated parking * Casual and kid friendly ambiance From the moment we walked in, the customer service was on point! Bryan, the owner, greeted us and took great care of our party of 11 adults and 1 child. We came to celebrate my sister's graduation, and when we asked if they could seat a party of 12, he said, "Give me a few minutes, I'll make something work for you guys." And he did! Such a thoughtful touch we had ordered the signature tater tots, but Bryan came out to let us know he already had complimentary tots coming to our table to honor the graduate and gave us the option to cancel our order. I had the tinga tostadas, which were the perfect size for me. We also tried the mac and cheese, perfect for the baby, with croutons on the side. The green chilaquiles were a bit sour and not spicy, but the brisket burger was juicy and tasty, and the seasoned fries were great. The fried chicken velvet waffles were unexpectedly flavorful and different definitely a must-try! We also had the coconut cream latte with my sister's picture on it, which was super cute and tasty. All in all, if you're in the neighborhood, this place is worth trying. We will definitely be back when visiting my sister!

Red Mapel is an OK restaurant. And, I use that term OK very descriptively. It's certainly not bad, but it's also not great. It's just OK. At least in my opinion. In terms of their layout, they have their main dining area, which I considered to be a little impacted. The tables are very close to each other, and generally, even when the booths are open, the host doesn't sit couples there. They seemingly wait for larger groups. I understand that but occasionally they will sit couples in one of the booths like when I arrived this morning, there was a couple sitting in one of the booths. When we inquired about a table, there was a separate booth that was still available. But we were not offered to sit there.. So, I don't really know what the formula is? It seems to be non-descriptive. Meaning, a bit judgmental. The restaurant also has their forward patio. This is out in front of the restaurant, along Riverside Drive. If the sun's on the patio, this can be kind of trying. But, if you get there when the sun is off the patio, this may be your choice for a place to dine. They also have a rear enclosed patio area. This is a small area with just a few tables. But, you are protected from the sun and you do get some of the breeze blowing through. So, it may be a more enjoyable place to dine than the interior dining area. They also have some tables that line the street. As long as you're in the shade, this isn't a bad place to sit. But, you are going to get the cars starting up, parking, and things like that if you sit in this area. In terms of food, again, it's OK. Not great. Just OK. I guess it suits its purpose. This restaurant has a fairly large menu. So, you have a lot of choices to choose from. This is a very popular restaurant, so I guess many people take a different view of it than I do. Meaning, there's times when you will have to wait to get a table. So, if you're coming here midday keep that in mind. Overall, if you're in the Toluca Lake area, this may be a place for you to enjoy a meal.

Came here to try ube pancakes and the horchata latte! My friend got the watermelon mint drink. Parking is validated in the back. Rachel took our Togo Oder and she was super friendly. The inside is super cute, lots of groups and families eating lunch when I went.

Red Maple was such a pleasant surprise. As a Yelp Elite, I'm always excited to discover new spots, and this one absolutely delivered. A recommendation brought me here, and now I completely understand why they're ranked #48 on Yelp's Top 100 Places to Eat in LA. I tried the Vegan Egg & Cheese Breakfast Burrito with chorizo and loved that they also offer tofu, Beyond, vegan chick'n, and vegan steak options. I also tried the tofu skillet loaded with veggies, quinoa, black beans, corn tortillas, salsa, and a side salad. Nothing about the vegan menu felt like an afterthought. A special thank you to Brian for hosting me and to Delmy for being such a friendly, kind, and sweet waitress. The hospitality made the experience even better. The breakfast menu is available daily from 8 AM to 4 PM, which is another huge plus. I'll definitely be back.

Amazing staff and service! Aesthetically pleasing on the inside and very spacious! This restaurant is so creative and I'm bummed out I didn't come sooner! The staff is so patient and I really appreciate it! They have customized iced coffees with any picture on top of the coffee! The breakfast sandwich was delicious and filling but not too heavy and the egg scramble came with potatoes that were the perfect seasoning, and bread!

This was our first time visiting this restaurant. We put our name on the waitlist and didn't have to wait at all when we got to the restaurant. The hostess was efficient and gave us a nice table. The waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu. The food came out quick too! The chicken sandwich was amazing! I think the best I've ever had.The yuzu slaw had the right amount of sweetness to add to the sandwich. I think I could eat this again tomorrow it was so good! My husband had the scramble which he created and he said it was really good and not greasy. We definitely would come back here and tell our friends and family. Thank you for the amazing food!

Overall a solid experience with great food, but a couple of details worth mentioning. The food had was great, i had the bacon breakfast burrito and it was amazing, would definitely come back for it. Service was quick too, I wasn't waiting long to be seated, get drinks, or have my food come out, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout. A couple of things did stand out, though. There was a hair in one of my drinks, but to their credit, the staff handled it well and swapped it out for a new one right away, I appreciated that. The bigger issue was the ketchup bottle. The bottle and the ketchup itself looked clean, but the lid was noticeably dirty (black residue on the top). I left it open so the server could see it, and he almost closed it and walked off without noticing. I had to point it out before he picked up the plate. Just something I think the team should keep an eye on. I also felt a little rushed to leave once I mentioned I asked for the check, not a huge deal. Overall, good food and friendly service, just hoping they do cleanliness checks for shared condiments.

Red Maple is a quintessential brunch cafe in the heart of Toluca Lake. Located on a nice corner lot, there was a cute farmer's market right outside on a Sunday morning, perfect to browse before dining in. We had a reservation for 7 people and the staff had everything set up for us when we got there. The service was exceptional! Order taking was super efficient and we felt extremely well taken care of. There was indoor and outdoor seating and both looked quite comfortable. Foam Art Lattes: You can choose a picture to put on your latte foam or update a custom pic! Super cool idea and the pics came out so nice! Very unique. Brisket breakfast burrito: Really good breakfast burrito and quite filling. Brisket was good and I substituted vegan JustEggs and that was also great! Chicken and Waffles: Had a nice lemon flavor and chicken was well seasoned. Ube Banana Pancakes: Three thick and fluffy pancakes that had a hint of ube, but wish there was more flavor. Texture was good, but it was a meal all by itself.

There's a shared parking lot behind the restaurant with 2hr validation, as well as free street parking (read the signs). The restaurant is immaculate with very attentive service, almost too much so. We were checked on many times. There was no wait at 11am on a Thursday but then it got busier. We really enjoyed the Red Maple Signature Tater Squares & cheese sauce that were a Today's Special. I liked my tuna melt and salad and had to take half home because there was so much tuna. My friend expected her Seared Ahi Burger to be cooked a little more than it was but didn't want to send it back (we mentioned it after and were told they would've cooked it more for her). I would definitely go back!

The entire interaction came across as incredibly rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. Customer service should be the bare minimum, especially when someone is taking the time to come into your establishment and spend their money. Unfortunately, this experience was enough to make me realize that this would be my first and last visit. There are plenty of coffee shops where customers can get good coffee and basic courtesy.

The chicken pot pie is absolutely perfect, will warm you to the core, and absolutely satisfy you. The quiches all redefined quiche for me, I can't get enough of them. My favorite is the potato leek, the goat cheese blends into these flavors in a way that makes me feel like I'm Remy in that one scene of Ratatouille. I can't believe I walked by this place for 3 years before ever entering, I really wish I was familiar with their game sooner. Stepping in you're greeted by a cozy, rustic ambiance with lots of natural light and plants. Overall, this is a fantastic place to hang out with friends or work remotely for an hour or two.

Parking nearby is challenging; there's very limited metered parking on Magnolia as well as on Lankershim, but I recommend driving to the residential streets behind Republic for free street parking. I've come twice now on weekday afternoons and it's definitely a popular spot both for groups and solo diners! I've never had to wait long and service is efficient and polite! Strawberry Rhubarb Pie 5/5, unexpected hit!! This is surprisingly less sweet and more tart than anticipated and all the while sm better as a result! Blueberry Peach pie 3/5, didn't do it for me, kind of bland, overall v average Matcha latte 3.5/5, average but not bad Banana matcha latte 4/5, enjoyable, but definitely on the sweeter side Coconut matcha latte 4.5/5, this was my goldilocks just right type of drink! the coconut water adds polite hints of sweetness to the matcha which retains its traditionally bitter flavor, would def get this again!
