When my wife's car's AC stopped working, I did what I always do and tried to fix it myself. After many hours of internet research and several unsuccessful evenings trying to locate the problem, I threw in the towel and gave these guys a call the next day. Now when it comes to taking our cars to any kind of mechanic, I'm very picky about where I go. You will NEVER find me going to a Lamb's, CarX, or other major chain like those. I don't trust them and have witnessed firsthand their shady upsells and recommendations of service for totally unneeded things. When I pulled up to this place, I walked in and was greeted by the owner, Robert. The place isn't fancy, and it's not trying to be. My kind of shop. Robert was very professional, put my info into the computer and then got right to my car. After just a few minutes, he had an idea of what the problem might be. Now, I had told him up front when I had first called that I just wanted a diagnosis, and that I'd like to attempt the repair myself if possible. He had quoted me $47 for a basic diagnostic, and I thought that was more than fair. But after talking it over and looking under the hood together, Robert said not to worry about paying and to just bring it back to him if I couldn't fix it on my own. He even gave me the wiring schematic that he had printed off of ALLDATA. :D After messing with it again that night, I still wasn't able to get it going, so I've already made an appointment to take the car back over to Robert and just let them fix it this time. All in all, I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. Not just because they gave me a few minutes of their time gratis, but because they're genuine, honest people. I bought a vehicle from a friend, and he told me he spent 3k in that vehicle's A/C but he was still experiencing problems with it. I took it to the same shop and the guy gave me a estimate for 3k. Again. I asked the mechanic/owner about the previous service to that car and he said he never worked on that car before. All they did was an estimate but it was never brought back. I approved the work and meanwhile I talked to the previous owner about it and he sent me the receipt for the work done. When the limo was ready I went to pick it up u showed the receipt and He then said he was mistaken and didn't remember it. I paid the 3k again and since then I have had ac problems every time I use the vehicle. Now the mechanic says the compressor was damaged and has to be replaced (third time in 1 year). I asked about the warranty and he says It's only for 6 months while any other place is 1 year. I told him to forget it. But now I don't know if he already replaced the good compressor for a bad one. After talking to 2 other friends I learned that that mechanic is a lier and a scammer. Be careful with this shop. The owner is a rip off. read more

I've had a problem with my A/c for quiet some time. Went online and tried to see who In the area that specialized in A/C had great reviews. (Note:I am very skeptical with mechanics due to bad experiences) So I found AC authority and went for a free quote. Going in, the place looked family owned, nothing fancy. The receptionist was not so bright, still she gave me the service I needed!! Got together with ROBERT and he gave me the quote after going outside alone and checking out my car. I was kinda sketched out wondering why he did not take me to at least try to school me on the problem(s) Mind you I am only 20 years old. The price was quiet high, not what I was expecting at all. But I gave them the benefit of a doubt and payed my fee for the parts online. They said it would be a quick job. Next day I bring my vehicle in the AM and leave it. Throughout the day I call and the receptionist same as always never seemed too bright on my end, still she took care of me as she handed me Robert on the phone he would say it would take a bit longer due to them having a busy schedule! ON TO THE NEXT DAY I call and now they seem to have no knowledge of me OR my vehicle and haven't even started on the job... Getting over the hiccups, Robert tells me he'll be done end of the day. That was a lie. They told me to pick it up the next day END OF THE DAY when they told me that I said I could not due to my busy schedule He then insists he'll work on it right away and he called me not even 2 hours later saying the job was done. Picking up my car keys I thanked Robert for the work and went my way. When leaving Robert commented to keep a sweater in the car now that the AC is ice cold, I chuckled... being the skeptical person I am. Driving home my A/C was winter. I've never felt it THIS cold. When I got home I noticed I had leaks coming out my car making a huge puddle. Me having no knowledge of it called AC authority right away and complained about it. Come to find out my car was just creating vapor due to new A/C and making my car drip water. Speechless, THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH! Went there MAY, it's JULY, CAR IS COLDER THAN EVER. Walked in - they took a look at my AC - In 15min came back and told me what I needed fixed - Left my car over night - picked it up the next day - ac blowing ice cubes! Robert, and staff are amazing! I am now writing this review 4 months later, the icing on the cake....I received a follow up call to check on my ac and their customer service, not the next day or the next week but 4 MONTHS LATER - most places don't want that liability! Excellent Service - Thank you guys at A/C Authority and More Automotive! We brought our Yukon to you with an aircondition leak that no other shop could find, not even the dealer. We were having to get the ac charged every couple of months just to keep it working. That was getting expensive. A friend recommended Robert at A/C Authority and told me that he runs an honest and resonably priced shop. I dropped my truck off with Robert and told him, "I know this is a stubborn vehicle to work on, nobody has been able to find or fix the leak, (the dealer had it for almost two weeks and still did not fix it). Please kept it as long as you need it to fix it right!" Robert called me back after about an hour and told me he found the leak, (a little service valve?) He gave me a quote and promised it would be fixed. He stuck to his quote, ($155.00) and did us right! Thank you. Wow! I called at 4:45 on a Friday afternoon to see if I could get an appointment for the following week and was told I could "come in right now". AC Authority were friendly, fast and solved my AC issues pronto. The costs were affordable and the work was great. I was in and out in an hour after they flushed my coolant, replaced it and ordered and replaced the AC cabin filter! I have taken my cars to Robert at AC Authority for around 15 years for AC and miscellaneous repairs. If there is a list of the places locals use, this shop has to be on it. Over the years I have had all kinds of work done from radiators to fuels pumps, custom and oem. I've had everything from simple AC charging, to complete AC system replacements. All perfect! They don't advertise to the best of my knowledge and maybe I shouldn't be telling everyone but Ive sent countless folks to them and always the same feedback. Took my car in for electrical problems.Told me would call me at the end of the day or the next day.Never called me.When I called them they told me it would be a couple more days before they could get to it.I waited a couple days then called only to be told it would be a couple more days.Every time I called I would get told it would be a couple more days before they would get to it.After about a month they told me they checked it out some but it would be a couple more days before they could check it out more.They told me they hadn't done any work on it.Said they would charge me $95 an hour to work on it and it would probably be 2 or 3 hours.Got tired of being put off so I went to get the car.They said they put a new computer in it.I guess they forgot to mention that on the phone or the new policy - $12 each day your car sits at their shop.To top it off the car has another problem after leaving the shop! read more

My jeep stopped on me while I was driving. I had it towed to another shop and they diagnosed it as needing a new computer system. They told me to have it repaired at a dealership because they could not fix it. During my search for the closest dealer I found A/C Authority. I really stumbled on something GREAT! The wonderful people quoted me a price and set things up on the phone. When I was ready to have my vehicle towed to AC Authority I spoke with Robert. From what I told him he suspected that it was NOT the computer. 30 minutes later I get a phone call stating that it was the Crank Sensor. I gave the okay, they ordered the part and I was able to pick it up before they closed for the weekend. They saved me $900.
