YOU'RE FIRED... I was looking for an HVAC service provider to take care of my Lennox AC system and decided to purchase a service plan from AC Pros, thinking I'd get top-notch service. Big mistake. The first time they came out, the tech refused to service my AC unit, saying he was only there to service the heater. I asked if he could at least clean the blower while he was here, and he told me, "We'll do that when we come out for your AC service." On the next visit, the AC tech spent an unusually long time in my attic--doing what, I have no idea. Before he went up, I specifically asked him to clean the blower and wash the outside unit. He did neither. He was also over 300 lbs, and I honestly thought he might break my ladder going up to the attic. After these poor experiences, I cancelled my service plan and went with a company that specializes in Lennox units--and actually does what they say they will do, when they say they will do it. If you want a provider that's happy to take your money for a service plan and then find reasons not to service your system, AC Pros might be for you. I tend to leave positive reviews and can't remember the last time I left a negative review. But in this case, I feel compelled to help others from suffering the same fate as my 87-year-old mother. She had saved up for years to get a new HVAC, and insisted on getting something that will last. We were advised by Russ Teager at AC Pros (License No. TACL B42774E) to purchase Trane HVAC COMPLETE system, which was installed in March 2019. Between March 2019 and March 2022, the HVAC crashed on us every few months and AC Pros came out at least a dozen times to fix various issues including failed compressor, failed drive, and failed leak in coils. Our HVAC still crashes on average every two months, and AC Pros and Trane have refused to fix their mistake, even though we paid extra money to have a 10-year guarantee, which turned out to be useless; they will try to blame any problems on the customer so as not to have to deliver on that guarantee, without providing evidence to back up those claims. So, if you go with either AC Pros or Trane, check out all the complaints against Trane on sites like Better Business Bureau. And make sure you at least receive an ACA-approved load report from AC Pros before instalment. Then be prepared to spend a lot of time and mental/emotional stress because the system keeps crashing for no apparent reason, because that 10-year guarantee, 'lifetime warranty on AC Pros workmanship', and Trane will NOT help you. read more

WOW! I could not have asked for better service. My father in law was without heat and we had a freeze warning that night. The great folks at AC PROS came out to diagnose the problem, and discovered that the needed parts were a couple of days away. The service tech brought personally owned space heaters over to his house after business hours to insure that he has heat. The day of the repair, they were there on time and got the job done less time than quoted. All for a great price. I would highly recommend. read more

My elderly aunt bought the high end system with a contract that promised 24/7 service at no additional charge. Unit was installed Wednesday. Saturday the unit quit cooling. When she called the company the person that answered the service asked if it was an emergency. My aunt told her no but she has a 24/7 service contract. A few minutes later one of the technicians called and said the on call technician had been sent to the hospital and could it wait until tomorrow. My aunt stated that she was elderly and needed the ac to be looked at today. She had a dizzy and nausea spell and was sweating profusely from the heat. Begrudgingly someone came, spent 2 hours working on it and got the ac running and cooling again. Three hours later it stoped working again. My aunt calls and is told no one can come out until tomorrow. I am sensitive to emergencies but if a business advertises 24/7 service in big letters they should have contingency plans to be able to comply with the contract they put forth and signed. A business owner should have Plan A, Plan B and Plan C to make sure they keep their guarantees. read more

I've used AC Pros for over 20 years and have (had) been a loyal customer. Never again. Yes, the techs are nice enough. However, I was significantly overcharged for the last work they did, which I needed in a hurry as a response to an inspection. No long time customer discount here. How about an estimated $500 / hour labor charge. When I called to asked about it, the office manager (again, who was nice enough) said the charge was in line. I asked to speak to the owners. No luck with that and no return call. Extremely unprofessional. Rude even for a long time customer. Short term thinking. Too many other options out there who would actually care about their customers. Never again. read more

First I submitted a request for the owner to call me online, and called three days in a row. Guess what nothing... When I used their coupon they talked me into buying a service plan. Everything was good until I was only presented with a 2600$ repair or a 3600$ new system. I called for my second quote because who is just going to fork out that kind of cash? After sitting in a hot house for 3 days in the heat of Texas my second quote fixed the AC in FIVE minuets seriously five. At this point, I am going to have to launch a BBB complaint because they owe me aprox 750$ I no longer find them capable of servicing my AC units or picking up the phone to simply call a customer back after your tech (Nicko) obviously made a mistake. Possibly there could have been another resolution, but since they #1 don't have a single tech that works on Saturday (According to the office last Saturday) nor can they find the time to pick up the phone and call me about my money. Oh here is the biggest thing... my fix for my AC on the 4th of July was $180. Their service still is horrible! I've only been waiting for a few weeks for them to come back out. My A.C. bill is higher with new units! Pretty close to looking into a good lawyer! read more

7/19/2016 I called AcPros to fix one of my air conditioners. The compressor was tripping offline and not coming back on. A service technician arrived on 7/21 per appointment. He examined the outside compressor unit then went into my attic to examine the blower unit and controlling motherboard. He was able to do something on or near the motherboard to force the compressor outside to start. He charged me $79.95 and left even though we both agreed that the cause of the problem had not been found. Just after 6pm on 7/22 I called AcPros because the the compressor was again not running. The after-hours on-call service tech was the same guy who had "fixed" it the day before. He said he would "try" to come by later that evening. He did not. He also did not call or come by on 7/23. On 7/24 I called their office and discovered I was not on their service schedule. They said a service tech would be out on 7/25. On 7/25 the same service tech arrived who came to my house on 7/21. AcPros sent him because he was "most familiar with the problem". He went through his same process again to force the compressor on without identifying the cause of the problem. He charged me another $79.95 even though I argued that I did not think I should owe it. I decided to take it up with their home office later. He left even though we both again agreed he had still not found the root cause. On 7/27 the compressor failed to come on again. I called AcPros office and strongly voiced my disappointment with them. I first used them 9 years ago but their quality had dropped since the original owners left. They asked how they could resolve it and I told them they need to find the real problem but they apparently did not know how to do that. They decided not to refund any of my money. On 7/28 I called Semper Fi Heating & Air who installed that second AC unit. The Semper Fi owner, Eric, came out the next day, went to the outside compressor and found a bad electrical condenser causing the problem. He quickly fixed the original problem cause for a very reasonable price. He knew what he was doing while AcPros did not. I'm never using AcPros again. read more

Once upon a time, this was a great company. I used them for at least eight years and had wonderful service. Recently, the company changed hands. I have lost my favorite service guy, and there are new people answering the phone. We have a maintenance plan for our air-conditioner and their rep did not show up for our spring check-up in April. When I called I was told that maintenance is not a top priority and they rescheduled it for six weeks later. When that day arrived, it was becoming clear that once again he was not going to show up so I called the office. They scheduled it for this morning between 8:30 and 1:00. I hoped I would have service since it was an earlier time slot. At 11:30 I got a call from them. They wanted to reschedule for Thursday. We have already paid for this service, by the way. Once they finally do the job, we are done with this company. Hopefully YELP can help me find a new company for maintenance. read more

He laid out various options for different prices and financing. His responses via email after hours and on weekends was amazing. When it came time for installation the guys were professional, laid down tarps on the carpet and cleaned up after themselves. The quality of the installation work was excellent. I've been using AC Pros for a few years now. The first year I just got a maintenance, no big deal. They came out next day (business day) when our AC wasn't cooling the house. A few weeks ago the fan for our downstairs unit was going out. Joel (the tech) I guess didn't get all the info down (per the office). So they sent another tech out. The tech calls me and I have to explain exactly what's going on because apparently the office didn't relay any information to him. I hadn't met this tech before. I let him in and showed him where it was. Before going to work, he literally looks me up and down and then blatantly hits on me. I had both of my daughters standing right next to me. No words. Seriously. NO WORDS. My husband is home... Whatever, I don't want any trouble I just want our AC fixed.. Because we've had minimal air for a few days at this point. He leaves and I don't hear anything for another few days so I call... Turns out they STILL don't have the right info. They send yet ANOTHER tech out. This is a week with barely any air. I have three young children, including a baby. It's 78+ in our house every day at this point. The third tech comes out, gets the info and leaves. Still don't hear anything from them. I call on thursday to see what the status is. The office says they are ordering the part and they will call me the next day to follow up. I hear nothing. Friday night our air completely goes out. I finally call the emergency line, Joel informs me there is nothing he can do. He was under the impression they hadn't ordered the part yet. (For the record I like Joel, he's very professional and nice) He assures me he will handle it first thing on Monday. Not wanting to risk anything, I call Monday. They assure me they are working to order the part and they will call me no later than 3PM to work out a time to come out and fix it. 6PM rolls around and I call them. The office informs me they "finally just got the part in" but they can't come out to do the work because the work day is over and they have to put the info in the system in plus their last tech just left. She asks that I call Tuesday morning to check in. So I call tuesday morning... I speak to the office and they inform me they still haven't had time to input the information in the system but they will call back to let me know when they can fit me in. I ask if it will be that same day and she informs me that "it probably won't be." At this point I'm furious. I politely let them know that this won't work for me and someone needs to come out now. I finally ask to speak to a manager... Simultaneously the girl is saying her manager just said they can come out shortly. Joel comes back out and replaces the part. Fast forward to now... It's been slightly warmer than normal but we have air so anything if better than nothing. Until now. Our downstairs air will not turn on. It's 79+ inside and the on call person isn't answering and there is no option to leave a message. read more

My 20 year old unit had to be replaced. :-) I had called AC Pros several times before and they always came out and serviced my units (heat & Air) They even came out on a Sunday when the heater went out and it was really cold several winters ago. I asked them to come & give me a recommendaton and a quote on a brand new unit. Lance Wolfe, Trane Comfort Specialist, came & inspected every element from the condenser and the heater (up in the attic) to the ducts and the condenser line, gas pipe and flue. In addition he made recommendations as to how to improve the air flow throughout the house. He was very meticulous in checking every thing and explaning what we needed. After the installation he returned and checked every aspect of the installation and even made adjustments to the thermostat that were needed. Lance is the best and I was very impressed with the attention that he gave us and the knowledge he had. I am positive that he took very good care of us. Good Job! read more
