Here I am. 3 years later. Cory and Cold Factor have been nothing short of awesome! Now, everything I have has been replaced. The monster house is still so cold in the summer and so hot in the winter, that we have to adjust the thermostat in the wrong direction. Turns out, 75 freezes the house in July. 70 burns us up in November. Just how I like it. They have a plan we signed on for that allows them to come out twice a year to check for any issues as the seasons change. A small fee covers that plus any service calls. Which isn't needed because they do the job right in the beginning. Might as well use it, so we did. Charlie came out and spent at least an hour going over every system and making any adjustments that were needed and cleaned up around the systems as well. Still not a fan of giving up my go to favorites in any category but Cold Factor has never let us down. Good work Cory and Charlie!! read more

I have used Cold Factor HVAC several times and have had 4 1/2-5 star service each time. The most recent was this summer when our upstairs AC compressor blew out (literally with a bang) with it was 98 degrees outside which turned into 91 degrees inside upstairs. They were able to come out the same day, and the technician gave me a price on a new compressor that he had to order. I was able to speak to the owner, and he suggested replacing the entire unit for just a little more which would give me a 10 year warranty (instead of 1 year) and new coils. I agreed. They were out the next day to put it in. Installers were very nice and installed it quickly. They were cool about my OCD and insulated a small 3" section of condosent line that was hard to reach. They did miss a small gap at the blower in the attic, but made sure it was great before leaving. For a hard-to-please person, they were great. Highly recommend Cold Factor. read more

I hired Cold Factor to replace an air conditioner that went out. I only got two quotes since I was rushed, but they had the best price. I dealt with Cory. He showed up quickly and was able to fit us in the next day. They got the installation done in about 6 hours. Later that night when I checked there work, I found the AC was wired wrong. It worked, but it was wired to have insufficient air flow that could cause damage over time. Also, the AC was leaking water into the emergency drain pan and onto the ceiling. I let him know the day after the install (Saturday) and he sent out the lead installer on Monday. It was still leaking and I let him know Tuesday that I was having the AC company I used in the past go over the install since I didn't trust his work due to all the issues. My other AC company determined that there was a bad TXV. Cory was quick to replace. They also fixed the condensate drainage issue. Apparently the line was clogged after the blew it out on installation. In short, Cory is a nice guy and I think he means well. I just feel that he and his crew rushed my job. The wiring and bad TXV should have been caught by them after the installation when they were checking the system. Airflow is very easy to measure on this furnace with an LED (so easy that even I was able to check as a non-pro). I have no idea how he missed the bad TXV when checking the refrigerant pressure. So use this company if you have to, but otherwise you can do better. By the way, I asked my other AC company how much the system should have cost for the exact same equipment and they charge $1,000 less. read more

My downstairs AC went completely out last summer, and I called some AC guys expecting a wide range of quotes with hidden costs. We have used cold factor in the past and had a great experience with a AC repair. This time my wife purchased a new thermostat. I went to replace it myself and after hooking it up their was no power. I tried to rewire and also tried to put old thermostat back on. Still no power. It's 30 degrees outside!! I called Cold Factor and Jay walked me through how to fix over the phone. Inexperienced A/C repairman is Cold Factor in Flower Mound/Lewisville/Plano. We spent a worthless $750 with no solution to our A/C problem. After 6lbs. of freon, blew 1/2 drain spout there was no impact. Then, I hired a reputable company to follow Cold Factor who questioned prior work done. He fixed 100% primary and secondary drain spout, limited freon test to identify leak in the evaporator coil. Fixed! Don't use COLD FACTOR! read more

From our first conversation with Cory (a/the owner) who worked around our schedule to come to our home and give us an estimate for the replacement of our AC units to Cory being on site the day of installation and taking time to answer all of our questions, it was a stress-free and excellent experience. Cory took the time to explain the differences between information we had received from other firms and helped us work through which decision would be best for us. With his assistance, we were able to determine that we did not need to replace one of our units yet, allowing us to put off that cost until a future date. By not talking us into something we did not need this further strengthened our already high impression of him and his firm. The installation occurred on time and without any issue.. The crew was very friendly and made no messes nor caused any damage to our house.
