I have to admit I'm new to acai bowls and Acai Joint set the bar real high. I stopped by this past weekend because it was hot and this was the perfect treat. You can build your own bowl or select from one of their three pre-made options. They have acai, pitaya, or you can get a blended one (the mixed feelings). I went with the mixed feelings because best of both worlds right? I can't remember all the toppings that were included but I absolutely loved the chia pudding that came with it, but all the toppings blended so well. I also added a peanut butter and honey drizzle at the end and yum! The small was enough to fill me up ($6.95) but they also offer medium and large. This is a review on their Açai bowl...it was delicious!! I went on a weekday, at about 6 pm. There was a semi-short line, but once it was my turn I got complete, undivided attention to build my amazing bowl of aesthetically appealing tasty perfection ^_^ I opted for the medium size, which is quite filling. There are three pre-assembled options that you can choose from, that you can still make modifications to, or you can build it completely yourself as you move through the line. As per my usual, when I have too many options, I went a bit overboard with my toppings. It was messy to eat the top, but once I got into it, it was easier. The taste & toppings were delicious!! I really enjoyed it. But for the sake of keeping it neater, I will keep it simpler next time & skip the honey. I'm also really glad they have a rewards card, as I can foresee frequenting this spot in the future :) The shop keepers that were there during my visit were friendly, offered info/advice & are very attentive. There was one table with two chairs & some against-the-wall counter seating inside and one table with chairs outside &, of course, a few nice photo ops for the gram! Despite that it's in a dumpy strip mall, once inside, it's nice, clean, enjoyable and they played some good summer vibe jams to go with the mood. Oh! & they are thoughtful enough to have a mason jar with serve-yourself drinking water & cups :) much appreciated. I got a medium bowl, and picked açaí as my base. After that, it came to pick your own toppings! If you know me you know I LOVE Acai Bowls! My friend and I wanted to try a new place and after yelping we decided on this place as it has pretty high ratings. This was my first time trying a build-your-own Acai bowl which was pretty cool! The workers let you sample something if you want to try it out first. Since I've never had chia pudding before I tried both the original and matcha flavors and really enjoyed the matcha one. A small was pretty filling and was only $6.75. They have two bases - Acai and Pitaya. I opted for the Acai. For fruits I got bananas, strawberries, and blueberries but they also have pineapples as an option. For toppings I got the honey almond granola, flax seeds, cocoa nibs, diced almond, and agave. I realized after the fact that my bowl was 1/2 toppings and 1/2 Acai, so next time I would ask them to put more Acai and less toppings. Overall, a solid place for Acai Bowls with lots of different toppings to choose from. The decor is modern and there's a cute light-up sign for IG foodies. And honestly, I kind of regret not coming here sooner! They have a variety of products ranging from smoothies to acai bowls that you can customize yourself. In addition, the acai base is perfect. There are no other flavors that overwhelms the presence of the acai taste. I've gone to other places that serves acai and they either make the base either too sour or banana-y. The consistency is spot-on as well. It isn't too icy like VitaCane and it isn't too watery like Vitality Bowls. Although their products are amazing, they do poorly on their customer service. I've visited Acai Joint about 15 times this past month after being introduced to it and I feel as if their customer service is either a hit or miss depending on who is serving you. When I get Angelina helping me out, she's typically enthusiastic and happy. She's welcoming and warmly greets customers. There'll be days when I come in and the employee who is assisting me with my bowl seems as if they do not want to be there. They look sad and miserable and I kinda feel bad for them too.
