Two stars are a gift, because the fajitas were good, but customer service left much to be desired. I had dinner at Acapulco last evening with a friend. Because I am doing Whole30, what I can eat and remain in compliance is quite limited. So I ordered the Texas fajitas and asked if I could have some extra guacamole since I opted out of the tortillas, rice, beans, and sour cream. As I was ordering, our server shook his head as if to disapprove of my choice to forego everything but the meat, vegetables, and guacamole, and then asked me if I wanted to order a side of guacamole. I told him "no," and explained that since I was foregoing all the sides, I was hoping they would please give me some extra guacamole. His response, "No." But when I followed up with "Really?" he said he would ask. In the end, he delivered my plate,alleging extra guacamole, but there was no more on my plate than on my friend's plate. I have some advice for that server. Here with out of town family and no food because they told me 8 PM on the phone this afternoon and when we arrived at 6:55 the door says closing at 7 PM and they won't seat us. Visiting with friends, went there on a Friday. It got progressively more crowded . We could still hear each other speaking without screaming. The menu said that the tacos came in corn tortillas, but they happily (I think) allowed me to order flour tortillas. Lots of chorizo for the price paid. read more

This is the best Mexican restaurant in NKY! My family and I have been going to Acapulco's since they were attached to the Baymont Inn and Suites by the interstate. They have fresh salsa that is packed with flavor, the portions sizes are huge compared to the price, and the staff are always so nice! This is basic Americanized Mexican food. Our service was BAD and the food wasn't very good. We had a group of 7 and it took 30 minutes for everyone to get drinks. I ordered queso dip and never received it. They were clearly having issues that day. While we waited and waited for someone to come back and take our orders, our table ran out of chips and Salsa--that's how long we were waiting. Once someone did take our order, 2 other people came up and tried to take our order. I just ordered tacos al pastor. When we finally did get our order, I had to eat my tacos with a fork b/c the tortillas were soggy and fell apart. After we ate, I started feeling bad and eventually left and gor sick to my stomach. I am not saying it was the food, but it certainly didn't help. There is a Peruvian place next door, I think I would prefer to give that place a shot. I will NEVER go back here. read more

The prices for most meals were okay, but the menu items seemed too complicated; there was way too many ingredients on each thing. Maybe that's just me being picky, but do people really like to eat mexican food with mushrooms? My mom ordered a pomegranate margarita, it was probably 4:45. They said she had to wait because the person who made them wasn't there yet... she said she would wait. When he said the person was there, we watched her just pour the ingredients in and it was brought out. Didn't seem too complicated for anyone else to make, but my mom didn't complain... until she saw the bill. $10.99 for her margarita that came in one size only and wasn't blended. Kind of ridiculous that she paid more for her drink than she did for her food. To eat, I ordered a fajita chimichanga, something I have ordered at many other Mexican places. All of the filling was burnt. I had to pick through it to find the pieces of chicken that were the least burnt. So half of my chimichanga wasn't eaten because I had to cut open the outside to find anything viable to eat. Very disappointing. I can't say that I will be coming back any time soon. read more

The best Mexican food in Florence!!! Friends and I came here one night and needles to say we did not come prepared. Portions are more than one can handel in a single sitting. The restaurant makes you feel like you are no longer in Kentucky when you enter. The decoration along with the Spanish music sets the tone for this restaurant. Everyone was very nice but I found a hair when I bit into my tamale and the manager came over and just said, "oh it's too long." I'm a server i never complain and I'd never put a hair in my own food and not to mention it was a long jet black hair. This is our go to Mexican restaurant. And in many cases our go to restaurant in general. This place has really grown in popularity over the years - for good reason, so you'll have to wait awhile if you go on a Friday or Saturday night, but it's worth it. Very friendly staff, good vibe and atmosphere, and excellent value when it comes to their drinks and dining options. Five stars hard to get, so a 4 is good! Wife and I went in Saturday and ate like king and queen! Waiter made a margarita for my girl that had fresh cut jalapeños and cucumbers. Hand poured, not from a mix! Mine was also very good. Dinner was the Pollo Acapulco (I think) and I had Burrito California (again I think name is right). But both had pineapple and chorizo. Food was hot and filling! Great value and great staff! They can smile and be more friendly but we got them all to smile. Sat at the Bar but there is not a tender. I was so disappointed in my Acapulco order last week. I ordered the five enchilada combo and a chicken fajita quesadilla. I was not impressed with any of it, mostly because it was lacking in any flavor. The enchiladas should have had more filling, and should have had something other than bland meat inside. The quesadilla was a little better in taste, but it arrived completely soggy.
