We tried to place an online order yesterday for Mother's Day and their system was shut off for online orders, and their phone was busy (we tried calling them 10 times with no answer), so we drove to the restaurant to place a take-out order and they refused to take our order and said they are NOT taking any take-out orders. I was completely speechless!! I have never gone to a restaurant and been refused service. We ended up driving to Guadalajara Mexican Restaurant in Fargo 30 minutes before they closed, placed our take-out order and within 15 minutes we had our order and were on our way. First time in Fargo and did not expect this restaurant to be as good as it was. Staff were extremely nice and helpful. The staff did seem like they didn't only love their job, but they wanted me to enjoy my experience while there. This is always a great feeling. The first night I ordered enchiladas and tamales. Their tamales were good, but I would have liked the tamales to not have the sauce covering the tamales. The enchiladas were flavorful, along with the rice and beans. I used to love this place. The last 2 times I've eaten here I've gotten food poisoning. Got food there tonight and within 30 minutes I felt it in my stomach, mind you all I get in veggie and cheese enchiladas so it isn't meat. It's gotta be someone's poor hygiene. So so disappointed and disgusted. I will never eat here again. The staff is so awesome here but two times in a row with food poisoning, something isn't right. Always great food and drinks!! Visited and ate several times throughout the year due to living in a nearby city 45 minutes from Fargo. I was never disappointed with their in restaurant service or food. My favorite dish has been the "Pollo Azteca". Comes with nopal slices, and sauce, beans and rice. Can't forget the warm chips and great tasting house made salsa they start you off with while ordering. The horchata is great with ice and a dash of cinnamon on top. The restaurant is usually always busy but I have tried to eat there before the crowds arrive for lunch or dinner. The restaurant is brightly colored and decorated accompanied by some banda or mariachi music for give it the feeling of authenticity. You will leave full and happy. I have ordered take out here as well, and picked it up before going home. The only thing I have to say was disappointing was (twice) on takeout orders, I had to finish cooking the rice because pieces of it were still hard. Biting into that is not the best experience when everything else was cooked to perfection. My advice would be to tell them to make sure to cook the rice completely before packing it in the takeout containers. I don't know why that happened only when ordering takeout, I never had the hard rice pieces issue while eating in the restaurant. read more

Worst experience ever ! We ordered take out and we ordered 2 orders of the same food but they threw it all into one container with everything all mixed together ! Man! I wish I would have visited this place when I first started traveling to Fargo, ND last year instead of being disappointed time and again by my other attempts to enjoy decent Mexican food. For Fargo, this is probably the best place to go. No, it may not be the most authentic to some but, compared to the other local offerings, this is top notch Mexican for Fargo. Their specials are above average, as well. We went on Tuesday so was able to enjoy the $6.00 all you can eat tacos (soft/hard, beef/chicken) and the fajita burrito (don't remember the price). The chips and salsa were better than the other places we visited to date which always seemed to be chips from a bag with some more Fargo brand, Mexican-fusion salsa. The tacos, burrito, chips, and salsa were all good. The drinks were also good but lacking in liquor. We had several margaritas and should have ordered an additional shot for each. Overall, we were still pleased. The décor reminded me of time I spent in my youth in San Antonio, Texas and the service was attentive and friendly. The reviews are good, and my personal experience here was even better then I anticipated. The food is great. Fairly authentic, although not world-class. Everything tasted fine. The prices are very good too, especially at lunch time. They do offer one random lunch plate every day for five bucks. Can't beat that! What gives this place five stars is the service. We were seated rapidly, and within seconds someone took our drink order. I ordered a marg and some queso for the chips/salsa. It wasn't even a minute later that they were on the table. Clearly one of the top Mexican choices in the Fargo/Moorhead area. I'm not that picky when it comes to actually eating Mexican food (it's always pretty good), but I am picky when it comes to actually thinking the food is quality and close to authentic (partly due to having lived in the Chicago area and consistently getting authentic Mexican food there). Acapulco is as close to authentic as I've found up here. The environment is friendly and welcoming; and the food comes quickly with very large portions (you're not gonna leave hungry here). I've had a variety of options, including tacos, burritos, chimichangas, and enchiladas and they're all really tasty. Served with side orders of rice and refried beans makes these dishes full and satisfying. I've always been too full to try their fried ice cream, one of my favorite desserts, but one of these days I'll have to find room for it. read more

Hot enchiladas Warming hospitality Cold margaritas I pretty much tried this place simply because of the previous yelp reviews... and I must say they are right. While the ambiance isn't as flashy as other Mexican restaurants, the food here is certainly a couple of steps up in authenticity and flavor compared to the 'other' local mexican options. *cough* Paradiso *cough cough* The staff was actually excellent, by my standards. Our server made sure to check back with us to make sure everything was to our liking, but was not too 'pesty'. The kitchen was open to substitutions, and our food arrived HOT (as food SHOULD arrive). The food itself was very tasty, and pleasantly not drenched in grease, unlike many Mexican restaurants I've dined at. I also particularly liked their salsa... it was more 'liquidy' compared to the usual restaurant variety, and more like what I'd expect to be served at a home-cooked Mexican meal. My only negative food recommendation is this: stay away from the chile relleno. It appeared to be simply egg on the outside (not egg batter... just egg) with some canned, diced chiles inside. I'm not sure what happened, but it certainly didn't resemble any chile relleno I'VE ever seen... With that complaint aside, I recommend trying this restaurant out, if you haven't already. ¡Salud! read more
