We had a great meal at Doolittles Woodfire Grill tonight. The rotisserie chicken was excellent .It was flavorful, juicy, and cooked perfectly. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender and definitely a highlight. My son ordered the Cajun shrimp pasta and really enjoyed it too. My daughter s got the fish tacos which they said it was basic.Its hard to find a good fish taco.Every restaurant seems to have them but they aren't right.It starts with the fish...I could go on.Otherwise,great food and a nice atmosphere. Was here 3 years ago and left without ordering. My daughter is a vegetarian and at that time there was not much of anything for her to order off their menu. This time around was better, they had an impossible burger, a really nice sounding salad and a "bowl", plus apps. Always wish for a place with some thing special like a good black bean burger or veggie burger, but beggars cant be choosers. The bun and the topping for their burgers were very good, which makes a difference with an impossible burger. The fries were "meh", but the cauliflower hot wings were quite good (not more than once have I been to a restaurant that messes those up). Service was quite good and attentive. Our waiter was funny and had a great personality. For not being an Italian restaurant, they sure make some good Italian dishes. Went to Doolittle's for lunch. Ordered half Reuben sandwich and the soup. The sandwich was over-the-top salty, could not eat. Told the server... she sent the manager over. He charged for the sandwich and told me that Rubens were salty and I probably shouldn't order them anymore. This has been one of my husband and my favorite stops early on in our lives. Since moving away we haven't been back consistently. Recently, we took our young family for dinner. Our waitress, Molly, made the experience even better than we expected. She was helpful, kind, witty and took particular care of our young daughter, offering her to participate in the 'service' of the table. Our daughter loved it and she walked away with some 'service goodies' like a order pad and pen. What a memory for her. Additionally, we love the food and atmosphere. Warmth on a cold January Friday and wonderfully prepared food. At the table we had the hanger steak, artic char, salmon, rotisserie chicken, a salad and the chicken wild-rice soup. We have eaten at Doolittle's for at least 20 years. Today we went in and ordered a variety of foods; I ordered my favorite: their chicken wings. When I received them, after 25 minutes of waiting, the wings were cold. When I told the wait staff, they sent them back... and returned with the SAME wings but blackened and burnt... and somewhat cold. UNACCEPTABLE. We have spend several thousand dollars at this restaurant over the years, but will look elsewhere. read more

I picked this place to have lunch because I was craving ribs not because of the Yelp ratings. I arrived using Google maps but no signage was visible from the road. I arrived to a nearly empty restaurant for a late lunch. I sat at the bar at the suggestion of the hostess. I was promptly greeted and was given a menu to review. I ordered an IPA from the tap which was quickly dispensed and served. I decided to try the St. Louis ribs and chicken combo as I was told that the rotisserie chickens here were great. The food came out quickly and looked good enough. I had to try the ribs first because that is what I was craving. The ribs were fall-off-the bone and had amazing smoke flavor. They were sauced just enough and provided the perfect amount of sweet and the perfect amount of heat. That smoke flavor reminded my me of an old SoCal chain called Love's, which is a wood pit BBQ, which is now outlawed by the State of California. I asked about the smoking process for the ribs but found myself being denied any information as if it was a Department of Defense secret. The rotisserie chicken was good too! The service was good, the decor was nice and the food was great! I can't discuss the atmosphere since the restaurant was empty but I was pleased with my meal. We waited over an hour for food. Customers that were seated 20-30 minutes after us were served their food before us.

The service was good. The food was average. I was in town for work and if I had to, I would eat there again.

I've tried this place 4 times... no I'm not insane. First time was not good... so I gave them a second chance. The last 2 times, not my day to choose. Slow service, from people who just don't care, the prices are so high and the staff is so conditioned to automatically receive a 20 to 25 % tip that there is no incentive to do a good job. Small portions, high prices, slow service and subpar food. The look on my face will not be shock.... when I read they have closed there doors for good as well one day. read more

When asked our waiter about our food, had to put our entrees in after salad was delivered which we even had to ask about the salad. An attractive and very comfortable dining establishment. Their service is very friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. The food is delicious and varied. Our table had the smoked rotisserie chicken, Parmesan crusted walleye and the pork loin. The chicken was moist and flavorful with a hint of wood smoke. The walleye was fried perfectly and the Parmesan crust worked well with the mild flavor of the walleye. The pork loin was ok, but the sweet potato hash that accompanied it was a taste delight. This is definitely a place worth returning to to try more of the interesting dishes they have on the menu. read more

One of my favorite places was a first time disappointment. We had a 5 pm reservation and arrived 10 min early. They asked us to wait to be seated so we went to the bar after confirming they would get us. At 5:10, after watching others coming in and being seated, I asked the hostess. She said our table was being prepared yet. I waited another ten minutes and they were still unaware of us so we left. When at the bar, 3 staff were visiting and didn't acknowledge us for a while also. This has not been our experience here ever. Maybe an aberration or they are struggling for staff like others? We ate here on a Sunday night and they had an unexpected rush. Unbeknownst to my friend and myself the kitchen was very backed up - and we had an appointment to keep. So after finishing our lemonade/pear sangria respectively (the pear sangria is very good!) we asked the kitchen to box up our food and dessert to go and they were so kind and obliging! All the staff were very kind and helpful. Once we had time to eat our food we enjoyed every bite! Being a vegetarian I got the BBQ chicken salad without chicken and oh my goodness it was delightful! Vegetarians beware. Stopped into the Fargo location - the menu says there are vegetarian modifications available. This is barely true. The only modifications that were available were to take the meat off 2 salads and the meat off a stir fry. This is frustrating because every salad can be made vegetarian, that doesn't qualify you to advertise your 'vegetarian options'. If that's the standard then every restaurant qualifies. Burger King outpaces your vegetarian options... We went to Ruby Tuesdays across the street, who have tons of great options!! I ordered a chicken and pear salad. It had grilled pears, raspberries, blue cheese, candied walnuts with a raspberry vinaigrette dressing. It was absolutely delicious!
