The IWC Primary Care Center was referred to me by Astiva my medical insurance company. One of their medical assistants her name is Margaret she had given me a CBC Test called a Complete Blood Count this blood test consisted testing my Glucose Levels, Kidneys Level, BUN Level, White Blood Cell Count, Potassium Level, Heart, and other factors to see if my Blood Pressure Levels are normal. I also had to take a Urine Test that was included in this CBC Test My Blood Pressure was kind of at a higher rate it was 154/71. That's high for myself because my blood pressure is always a much lower range like 120/60. The medical assistant her name is Ranabi said my Blood Pressure was at a higher rate because I have a DVT in my right leg and my current medical condition has caused my blood pressure to rise to an increased rate. I also arrived 15 minutes early to this IWC Primary Care Office that date. I was given 8 pages of Intake Forms for me to complete because I am their new patient. I was introduced to their Office Manager he was very friendly and helpful to me. His job is to organize their medical office staff and make sure the patients family stays together in one exam room. The IWC Primary Care Center atmosphere was very welcoming and comfortable. Their air conditioning system was turned on and was at a comfortable level. There is a large gray couch in their waiting room and 8 padded and comfortable arm chairs in their lobby for their patients. For my first visit, I received very friendly and helpful advice from their front office medical assistant her name is Magdelina. The quality of my medical care is excellent.

I understand providers sometimes need to cancel, and I also understand they may not have been able to see me the same day, but the way the situation was handled afterward was extremely frustrating. I came in because I'm still experiencing pain and complications from a procedure done through this office, and I had previously been told it was important to come back for follow-up care. I had already tried calling multiple times before coming in and was left on hold for over 2 hours without ever reaching anyone. Nautica was the only person at the front desk when I arrived. When I tried explaining the situation and that I was in serious pain, I felt dismissed instead of helped. Communication was difficult because she spoke very quietly, and when I asked her to speak up so I could hear her clearly, the interaction immediately became tense and defensive. Being met with attitude simply for asking someone to repeat themselves or speak louder is unprofessional and unnecessary. She also stated that the office had tried calling me that morning, but I did not receive any calls, voicemails, or missed calls from them prior to arriving. I was worried about my health, trying to get answers, and also needing to get to work, so the lack of compassion and urgency was upsetting. Patients dealing with ongoing complications should not feel brushed off when they are actively trying to seek medical care.

I'm so thankful for planned parenthood and this location specifically, my doctor was so informative and knowledgeable about the procedure I needed. The nurse also made me feel so welcome. It's always scary doing anything related to woman's health for me and I can definitely say this is the best place to go. I'm low income and they helped me apply for a program that would help me pay for what I needed. Non judgmental people that just want to help. Thank you guys for all that you do! You saved my life and my future!

She seems to intuitively know the right answer. We attended one of her groups, it was filled with strong women sharing their stories, supporting each other. The round room we met in is "muralled" with jungle and green vistas: it was very peaceful! I brought my friend and she so enjoyed the whole thing! The meeting was supposed to go from 7-9, but everyone was having so much fun that most of us stayed until after 10pm There was an exquisite tea service with Lesly the "Tea Consultant". I'm definitely ordering those great moist scones from her! No you can't have any, buy your own. ( I really have to order several of the scone packages since I ate at least half of those that were offered to everyone) Dr. Carolle's watch word is "BE" . She created the exquisite Garden of Eden at the retreat: Trees laden with oranges, sprawling tomato bushes next to waterfalls and streams, with rich stone-work. There's an adorable cottage in the garden, and rooms to rent to escape from an overstressed life! This place is really for people who want to either 1) Heal or 2) Strengthen themselves or 3) Refresh themselves in a quiet place. This is really on oasis in the city. I'm planning on giving a weekend retreat to my girlfriends for Easter!

May-Thurner, Compressed Common Iliac Vein syndromes & pelvic venous congestion DO exist & should be…read moreconsidered if increasing pain symptoms occur with multiple fibroids or if severe pain occurs in the pelvis & there are no specific etiologies. Borrego Women's Health with Dr. Robert Segnit was a bad experience! He was "polite" enough but the appt was a total waste of time! He was snarky with me at the end & did NOT want to consider a pelvic congestion or venous issue as a source of chromic pelvic pain with the fibroids. 2 years later I am now at UCSD about to get UAE for fibroids & will probably need a STENT in the Left common Iliac vein. It took an MRA to diagnose. Over the last 2 yrs pelvic pain increased & pain/pressure in left leg veins increased~Generally an unwell feeling in the entire body. Thankfully UCSD gyno & UCSD IR listened to me & UCSD IR doc was an angel! No ego & a genuinely compassionate doc willing to explore further (b/c gyno also threw out a possible Endometriosis dx on the table) Dr. Robert Segnit (gyno) who was the colleague of Dr. Tracie Davis, is apparently retired now. Initially I wanted to see her, but she was booked, so I went with him. Maybe if I had seen the female doc she would've listened to me? But I doubt it b/c none of my other docs listened. I think male gynos & male IR for UAE are bad & non-empathetic. Male docs don't have the anatomy & cannot comprehend the severe & deep pain in the pelvis or the annoyance of bladder incontinence from bulky fibroid uterus. ***I had 2 older male docs who basically misdiagnosed me & had ZERO clue where the pain & pressure were coming from & did NOTHING for me to try to figure out WHY I was suffering. The male IR doc was not at this clinic. He was at {American Access Care~Dr. Zachary Rattner} Dr. Rattner was trying to tell me I didn't know the difference between uterine or ovarian pain & he didn't even know what PCOS was. He kept interrupting me every time I said "pain in the uterus". He refused to do UAE on my multiple fibroids b/c I wasn't "bleeding enough" & he thought the pain was probably in my ovaries. (umm well at UCSD I did show venous reflux bilaterally in the ovaries on the MRA but the pain in 2021 was dead center near, where my IUD was inserted) I think these older arrogant, male docs in their 60's or 70's are not up to speed or up to date with the current literature, research & diagnoses. May-Thurner & pelvic venous congestion DO exist & everything should be done for women to test for Iliac Vein compressions to rule that out. Some women may not be symptomatic, but for those of us who are symptomatic, we need the proper dx & tx!

My wife and I had a very disappointing experience with Dr. Brown…read more At one of our final prenatal appointments, Dr. Brown measured my wife's belly using a fundal height measurement and told us that the baby was "regressing" and that we needed an induction ASAP. Naturally, we were alarmed and asked if we could first get an ultrasound to confirm what she was seeing. She told us there was "no time" for an ultrasound. When we asked if our baby was okay, her response was, "Yeah, but why wait? I'd rather be safe than sorry." Hearing that from our doctor terrified us. She then pressured us to schedule an induction for the following morning at 6:00 a.m. We left the appointment believing something could be seriously wrong with our baby. Because we weren't comfortable proceeding with an induction based solely on a fundal height measurement, especially since my wife wasn't experiencing any concerning symptoms, we sought a private ultrasound ourselves. The ultrasound showed that our baby was measuring appropriately for the pregnancy, and the sonographer found no concerning issues. We declined the induction and went to triage the following morning for a second opinion. The physician there was surprised by Dr. Brown's recommendation and, at our request, ordered another ultrasound. After reviewing the results, the doctor came back smiling and laughing, reassuring us that our baby looked completely healthy and that there were no concerns. During our visit to triage, the physician also remarked that we were not the first patients to come in with concerns after seeing Dr. Brown. Hearing that only reinforced our belief that our experience was not an isolated one. What disappointed us most was not simply that another doctor had a different medical opinion. It was how Dr. Brown communicated with us. She came across as pushy and unwilling to truly listen to our concerns or respect our wishes. Instead of discussing options and helping us make an informed decision, we felt pressured to follow her recommendation without the diagnostic testing we had specifically requested. Every patient deserves to feel heard and respected, especially during such an emotional time. Unfortunately, that was not our experience with Dr. Brown, and based on our experience, I cannot recommend her.

She also has an excellent sense of humor! I'm sure it's probably weird because she's a gynecologist, but I actually look forward to seeing her because she's such a nice person. As a doctor she looks at your total health. She does my blood panel every year and checks my other tests out like ultrasounds and MRI, CTs, etc. She looks at all of my medications and supplements to see what side effects there may be and discusses any questions I have, even if they're about health issues that aren't gynecological. She has referred me to other specialists. And she speaks quite a few languages, I think at least five, maybe seven. This is her other office, I believe she's here one day a week. I used to see her at the Frost St office and then she moved over here. I like this location better, even if the parking can be a bit tight. It's nicer over here by the ocean. This place is a fucking joke honestly.

Oh boy, from the second I called in, I had a bad experience. I called in because I was having bad abdominal pain. The woman that answered laughed and told me that it was normal during the cold, to use a hot water bottle and that they were booked for the next 4 weeks. Fine. I thought maybe I was being paranoid. Scheduled the appointment. Went in, red head older woman who sits at front desk, had me fill out paper work. Not the friendliest fine. Everyone has off days. Was told I probably have endometriosis, had an exam, got some medication for a so called infection. Went back for a check up three weeks, nurse was always very rude and short. I decided to switch OBGYN's the second I found out I was pregnant. When I called in to get a copy of my medical records, the same redhead lady said in a very rude and unprofessional way "why are you switching. who are you? etc etc" My husband even heard her, and told her there was no need for her to be rude when I was just asking for my medical records. She told me to come pick up a copy. When I went to pick up a copy, it wasn't ready, she rudely told me i might as well take my whole medical file since I wasn't coming back. Honestly, I don't know how anyone has a good experience with someone like that answering the phone and being the first POC. He didn't help me, and I felt more violated when I found out that he can't diagnose me with endometriosis just by sticking his hand up me. That he needed to send me in for a test. Thats why he is NO longer my OBGYN, because he didn't help me, and terrible staff.
